Ashlyn sighed. "I have a few things to deal with. I will return in a month at most." She responded. Tapping her nails on the sink she silently waited for his response. She shivered. Even from miles away she could tell he's angry or more like pissed.
Conner sat down on the sofa and took a few moments to calm his anger down. He felt the urge to go after her and drag her back home, tie her down on his bed and not let her leave the house again.
Thinking of all the rebellious things she did in the short time they spent together his eyes widened in realization. He placed his palm on his forehead and closed his eyes. He would have to deal with her attitude, her little acts, escapes, and disappearances for the rest of his life.
'What the hell did I get into?' He questioned himself. 'For the rest of my life….' He wasn't even sure of why he was thinking like this. All he knew is that he wanted her by his side forever.
"Ashlyn…" He called out. "Why leave without informing me first. I'm your husband, I can help you…" He told her.
Ashlyn rolled her eyes. "Honey, think of it as a business trip, yours was two years long and I didn't say anything now did I. It's just one month okay?" She ended the call abruptly and turned off her cellphone.
"..." Conner felt like he had just thrown a rock at his foot. One could imagine a chibi version of him sitting in a corner sulking…..

"That should be enough for now right?" She mumbled. She then sighed and placed her phone on the sink. She washed her face and dried it with a towel. A sad smile lingered on her lips for a few moments and she sighed again.
"I don't know what to do anymore. Sigh, Mom, I need your guidance right now." She groaned and took a few seconds to compose herself. She didn't want to go out there and have everyone's attention on her. Somehow every time she is thinking of her mom it automatically drags everyone's attention towards her and they look at her in concern. But she is convinced that she's fine.
At Least she tells herself that she's fine but frankly, two years are not enough for her to freely think of her mom without wanting to cry and drown herself in sorrow. A few seconds later her expression changed and a simple smile appeared on her beautiful face.
She took a deep breath and walked out of the room. She sat down in her chair and closed her eyes. "I'll take a nap and wake me up in an hour." She told Li Zi and got a nod in response.
Just as she said Ashlyn slowly entered her dreams and went into a deep sleep.
Li Zi, who was quite tired, decided to continue working. When she received Ashlyn's call she was extremely excited. She was bored of working with the same spoiled brats, and talentless actresses from her company. She is the best manager out there! Why would she waste her time with those women? The only person worthy of her is Ashlyn.
She would even work for free if she didn't have to pay rent and feed herself. She didn't choose her profession only for money. She enjoys looking for rare talents and helping them rise to the top. One month is quite a challenge for her but with Ashlyn's talent, she is confident that everything will succeed. To add on to her excitement she will be working with goddess Thalia's daughter!
She had the honor of meeting the goddess before. She even worked with Ashlyn before. Back then she was completely oblivious to Ashlyn's identity. It wasn't until Ashlyn managed to get the leading role in that one movie.
After Ashlyn's mother died Ashlyn herself had disappeared for a while. That is when she found out about Ashlyn's identity. Everything was very confusing back then. Many things were going on and the entertainment industry went into an uproar.
She sighed thinking of that. She looked up and met with Luke's gaze. She quickly lowered her eyes and continued her work. 'What the heck is he looking at? Tch' She complained. If not for him being Ashlyn's cousin she would never act so nicely.
'This jerk. How annoying!' She continued cursing him in her thoughts for absolutely no reason. She was so annoyed that the pencil in her hand turned into two pieces. Her lips twitched and she placed the broken pencil away.
"Here." Luke handed her a new pencil. She pushed it away and declined his offer without speaking to him. Luke frowned when he saw her take a black pen out from her bag. He shrugged and got back to sketching on his sketchpad.
Lake grinned. 'What is this? A new ship?' She wondered and elbowed her mother. Her mother laughed and shook her head at her daughter's antics.
Lake, who noticed his sister's meaningful stare, frowned. 'What the hell?' He wondered. 'Sis, I was just trying to be nice!' He told his sister through his thoughts. Lake who understood his thoughts lifted her eyebrows playfully.
' Come on! You're never close to a woman. You clearly like her.' She suggested.
'I'm simply not attracted to any of those women. Lake mind your own business!' He replied. 'Ah! So you're attracted to her then…' Lake concluded. Luke stiffened. He didn't respond with anything else and looked away. Lake received that as a yes and was already committed to help her brother get a love life.
Their mother rolled her eyes when she saw them using their twin 'telepathy'. Her children were literally having a conversation through their thoughts. She sighed and looked at Ashlyn who had her arm covering her face. She smiled lightly when she thought of her sister and how she left her a wonderful niece behind.
