Misty Mountains
Tiberius POV
"What the?"
Darius and Garen stopped their conversation as they hear his voice. Looking at Tiberius they noticed him looking at the sky intently with a surprised expression. Both of them looked up trying to look for the reason for his bewilderment. Looking up they see the night skies full moon and bright stars.
Garen continued to stared at the sky for a long time before his eyes widened in realization: "My God!"
Darius stared at the sky trying to find out why the two looked surprised. He scratched his head as he looks up: "What I don't see nothing"
Garen smacked Darius head and pointed up: "Look at the stars, you idiot"
Darius once again looked up as he observed the stars. He squinted his eyes trying to find any anomaly from the stars when suddenly his mouth wide opened: "My God the stars! they look beautiful?" He once more scratches his head.
Garen smacked Darius' head and grabbed around his neck while pointing up.
"Look at the stars, you idiot! aren't they familiar?"
"What? they're the same old stars nothin, Oh, Oh! the constellations!, THEY'RE THE SAME FROM OUR WORLD!"
Garen looks at Darius and thinking how stupid and slow he was: "They are exactly the same! both the color and where they should be, also the moon has the same black spots on its surface just like the moon on our world!."
Tiberius looked at the duo and placed his hands on his chin: "If they are same moon and stars doesn't it mean.."
"This is the same world!" Garen completed his sentence with an excited expression.
Darius eyes wide open as he hears him say that: "Wait, what do you mean this is the same world?, I don't recall any goblins, orcs, giant wolves and great eagles in Rome or any other place, the biggest animal I've seen was an elephant."
Tiberius nods his head as he also ponders what Darius said: "Maybe we are in the lands beyond the Atlantic Sea? no ships have ever sailed beyond it."
Garen looked at Tiberius and wondered if his words are true, if it is they only have to build ships and sail towards the east to be back in Rome.
Garen looked at Tiberius and speaks his thoughts: "So we just need to go east then find a sea and cross it to be back in Rome?"
Darius intervenes as he hears him say that: "Why go back? we just got here, it's fun here! lands to conquer, adventures, fighting strange new creatures, and ELVES!, I haven't slept with one yet and the dwarf Kili said they are excellent dancers in bed!, I have to sleep with one before I at least go back." Darius crossed his arms and nods as he explains.
"Sigh" Tiberius shakes his ahead in disappointment at Darius reasons. He looked at Darius with a serious expression: "How about our family, friends, and our duties back in Rome?"
"Family? They won't care about me. Friends? You're right here! as for duties, my duty is to protect you and I'm doing it."
Tiberius and Garen looked at Darius with pity as they heard him say that. They knew Darius' situation back home and they feel sorry for him.
Tiberius gave his reasons on why they should go back: "We have to go back Darius, our family will be waiting for us, and if I don't go back, Rome will be in turmoil if something happens to the emperor, there might be one right now with our legions missing. Our disappearance would cause great chaos in Rome as the emperor looks for me and the legions. He might think that the enemies of the empire were at fault.
Darius looks at Tiberius with a serious expression before reluctantly agreeing: "Fine, at least let me sleep with an elf first before we go back okay?"
"Sure, sure, we will be here for a while anyway, and we will be passing through their domain in our journey, you can sleep with those elves if you find one willing to."
Tiberius looked towards the duo: "We will go back home right?, Including the legions. With the possibility of seeing their families again the legionnaires would continue to fight for us. We will smash all the obstacle in our way. We will show this land why Rome became the ruler of the Mediterranean."
---------------------------
The three sworn brothers made a pledge around the bonfire to do all they can to bring back the legions back home. This pledge marks the end of their first day here in middle earth.
What they don't know is up in the sky, you can see the continents of the world, there are two major continents, the continent of middle earth is separated from the other continent by a vast Sea, when the time comes when the legions of Rome arrive on the other continent they will be disappointed.
