"I have told the others."
The voice of Michael projected from a one of my own feathers a trick only I could do.
"Are you sure that's wise I thought it was important to keep Soneillon fooled?"
"It's too late for that Reece has advanced too fast, we can not risk her loosing control again. You need to help her control her power before she destroys heir self and others."
"You gave her the map?"
"Yes it won't be long now before she seeks you out."
"I will continue to gather intel in the meantime."
"Very well but be careful Raziel."
"Don't worry about me I am not my brother."
The connection lost the feather reattached itself to my wing. I lay back down in my make shift bed surrounded by darkness.
I had been in the underworld so long I sometimes forgot what it was like to be around those I care about. Always hiding always watching always alone, but I knew what I did was more important then anything.
We had to protect Reece and Dantalis I knew in my heart that they were the ones in the prophecy I only hoped that what we have done so far is enough.
Suddenly even from all the way down in the lower levels I heard a massive explosion. My heart raced as I cloaked myself as a demon. I ran out of my hidden room Slipping past those running to see where the noise had come from.
Please don't let it be Reece again I had yet been given a chance to train her in control. The time was not right so I feared every noise thinking that she had unleashed her power again.
As I reached the stairs that lead to the upper levels I melded with the shadows against the wall.
I was too late the explosion wasn't Reece but a distraction so that she could find me, but she had failed.
All I could do was watch as Soneillon broke her arm and knocked her unconscious.
I silently swore as I watched her be carried away. Soneillon could not find me he was too strong and I could not risk him destroying the dagger that hung at my waist. We had gone through too much trouble to fool Soneillon I could not ruin twenty years of planning to save Reece from a little pain.
Once they were out of sight I quickly returned to my room hidden behind a large boulder.
I paced she had been caught Soneillon will never let her out of his sight now. What were we going to do?
I pulled the feather out of my wing again to contact Michael.
"Michael we have a problem."
"What's wrong?"
"She got caught."
"Shit, Raziel is there another way to give her the dagger?"
"Let me think."
I closed my eyes as I sorted through all the knowledge I had tracked down over the years. Ancient magic angelic runes lost for centuries anything that would give me a way of passing objects, til finally I remembered an ancient text that spoke of a way to enter someone's mind. It was originally meant to pass on knowledge much like when knowledge is passed from parent to offspring. It was not meant to pass objects but perhaps I could change it so that I could.
Opening my eyes again I spoke into the feather.
"There may be a way but I'm not sure it would work and I'll need some things that I can't get down here."
"We must try Raziel tell me what you need and I will send Gabriel to deliver them."
"Very well."
I relayed the items I would need.
"Gabriel will met you at the east entrance."
"I'll be there."
————-
It was always a huge risk when I left my room being a spy wasn't exactly the easiest job even knowing how good I was. Constantly being on the look out constantly surrounded by enemies it was the price to pay for knowledge.
In the time that I waited for my meeting with Gabriel disguised as a demon I spied on Lucifer. He was in his room as he was a lot of the time. Muttering to himself about plans I usually got a lot of information when he did it. This time however as I was conversing with another demon about living quarters. (It was a good way to blend in personally I couldn't care less if he thought he deserved bigger rooms.).
"I agree they don't give you credit for all the work you put in."
"Exactly right."
He rambled on as I watched Soneillon barge into Lucifers room furious you could practically see the steam coming out of his ears.
I listened in while still talking to the disgruntled demon as Soneillon convinced Lucifer to release Reece from her vow. Silently I cheered yes our plan had worked. Lucifer and Soneillon left towards Reece's room. As they passed Soneillon glanced my way turning back to the demon I laughed at a joke he had just made.
"Good one my friend."
Soneillon sneered then kept walking, excusing myself I followed them hanging back far enough to not be seen.
As always I couldn't get close to her room for all the guards that blocked anyone passing through so I stayed far enough away that I could still hear.
"I release you from your vow."
I smiled our plan was working she will be free of both sides. Her power will not be used for good or evil Reece will be free from both sides influences.
Lucifer left the room I melted into the shadows as he headed back. As the door closed I caught a glimpse of Soneillon approaching Reece a look of fear in her eyes.
I gritted my teeth in frustration he was hurting her I could sense it. Reluctantly I forced myself away from her room it had to be now. I knew what Soneillon was capable of doing I had to get the dagger to Reece.
I made my way through the corridors heading for the east exit as I rounded the corner I ran almost bumping into Kail in my haste.
"Hey watch it buddy."
He looked down his nose at me as I was cloaked as an inconsequential lower demon far beneath his rank.
"I'm sorry sir I wasn't looking where I was going."
He took one last look at me then continued back they way I had came.
I sighed my cloak worked to disguise me and hid my presence sort of like flying under the radar but if anyone looked hard enough they would be able to see me for who I was especially if they were strong in mind. Which was part of the reason I avoided conversing with higher levels demons and angels.
Taking more care I finally reached the east exit heading straight for my meeting place with Gabriel.
"Finally Raziel I was worried you'd been caught."
I waved him off
"I haven't been caught yet, did you bring what I asked."
Gabriel nodded
"It's all here."
I grabbed the bag and started drawing the seal first.
"Your doing it here?"
"I have no choice she needs help now."
Gabriel grabbed my shoulder forcing me to face him.
"What's happened?"
"There's no time to explain I have to get the dagger to her now."
Gabriel let me go as I went back to drawing the seal.
"What do you need me to do?"
"I need you to keep watch while I'm under I won't be able to defend myself. You need to protect my body while my mind is inside hers."
I threw the bag at him.
"Place the crystals around the seal."
Gabriel did as he was told placing a crystal at each point of the pentagram within the seal.
I sat in the middle while Gabriel stood outside the seal.
"I mustn't be interrupted otherwise it could send us both into madness"
Gabriel nodded.
"Good luck brother."
I smiled before I closed my eyes concentrating all my power on entering Reece's mind the dagger placed within the seal before me.
It didn't take long before I entered her mind just as Soneillon broke her wing. It took all my strength to not give into the anger I felt at him hurting her.
I waited as she slowly passed out from the pain.
As I spoke with her through the mind link I worked on her wounds starting with her wing. Using my power of healing I reattached the tendons that had been broken and repaired her broken arm mending the bone.
I successfully Entrusted her with the dagger and started returning to my own mind til she called me back.
I smiled at her Knowing what she couldn't bring herself to say. I looked to her wings of fire reminding me of the Phoenixs of old.
"Thank me later little Phoenix fire."
Returning to my body I opened my eyes to find Gabriel gone.
"Gabriel?"
I heard the clash of swords not far away.
Jumping to my feet I ran towards them to find Gabriel fighting leviathan, Satan and Beelzebub.
Shit he must have drawn them away to protect me I had to help him.
I summoned both my haladies (double bladed daggers), but before I could jump in Gabriel caught my eye shaking his head slightly. The warning distracted him enough that Leviathan knocked him out with the hilt of his sword.
I swore to myself, this can't be happening. I watched in anguish as they dragged his still form into the underworld.
This was all my fault if I had just found a way to get the dagger to Reece he wouldn't have even been here.
Quickly I pulled out the feather.
"Michael!"
The reply was instant.
"Raziel what's wrong?"
"Gabriels been captured."
I could hear Michael scream
"What do you mean he's been captured how did this happen?!"
I could hear the anguish in his voice the fear that Gabriel would suffer the same fate as Azrael.
"Don't worry Michael I'll get him back."
"No!!! I'll not risk you too."
"Then what what are we going to do?"
Michael was silent as he thought.
"Right here's what we will do get back in there tell me the second you find out where they are holding him."
"What are you going to do?"
"I'm not sure yet but they won't kill him, not yet at least."
"Very well I will do what I can."
"And Raziel?"
"Yes?"
"Be careful I know these years have been unfair to you hopefully it will all be over soon."
I replaced the feather then made my way back to the underworld.
