Well this was a fine position to be in I pulled on my chains. I knew it was useless but when you had nothing to do but be stuck with your thoughts.
I only hoped that Raziel did as I said and stayed hidden. The fact that he wasn't in here with me was hopefully proof of that.
The door slammed open as Soneillon entered grinning from ear to ear. He had a bandage wrapped around his shoulder.
"Archangel Gabriel how sweet of you to stop by."
I smiled bitterly
"I was in the neighbourhood and figured I'd drop in but if your too busy I'll just take my leave."
Soneillon laughed.
"Ah it's so rare to get good humour in the underworld. Don't worry Gabriel you will be leaving shortly but you won't be breathing when you do."
"So your here to kill me are you?"
"Me? Not at all. No that privilege goes to your daughter. She's quite spirited is she not?"
I gritted my teeth.
"What have you done to her."
"Only what she deserved. She is a tasty morsel, her hatred for me only grows making me stronger with each passing day."
I struggled against my chains.
"Ill kill you!"
Soneillon laughed at my feeble attempts.
"Now now Gabriel you should be more worried about yourself. Soon Reece will be forced to test out her power on you, it's what you deserve for giving her that dagger."
I stared at him not fast enough to hide my horror that he knew about the dagger.
"I assume that's why you were here well too bad your plan failed, she failed. I have already destroyed that monstrosity now there is no hope for Dantalis this body is mine and will remain so and with Reece at my side I will use her power to destroy all the angels both good and evil til only demons remain. For too long you angels have ruled over us controlling us for your own purposes well no longer. Your hatred towards each other only fuels my strength soon I will be stronger then all of you."
"Lucifer is your master is that not the deal you struck with him when he gave you Dantalis's body?"
"Lucifer is a fool to let me out of my cage it was his first mistake. I'm a demon I am not bound by my word."
"He will realise what your doing!"
"He is too preoccupied with his own hatred towards heaven to notice."
I clenched my fists.
"Why are you telling me this?"
He smiled.
"To see your face when you realise that there is no hope much like the one Reece just had the moment I destroyed the dagger right in front of her."
I bared my fangs just thinking of what Reece was going through, to know that her mate was lost forever.
I screamed at him.
"You bastard!"
Soneillon laughed even louder enjoying the pain he was inflicting and feeding off my hatred for him. I knew it would only make him stronger but I could not help loathing the demon before me.
I closed my eyes and slowed down my breathing trying to force myself to calm down.
He chuckled.
"Do you really think that's going to help?"
Opening my eyes again I asked.
"Let me speak to Dantalis."
He leaned against the wall smiling.
"Now why would I do that?"
I shrugged
"What could it hurt I'm going to die anyway."
"True very well then."
I knew the moment Dantalis had taken over the look in his eyes said it all. Defeat, loneliness pure horror at what Soneillon had made him do.
He sank to the ground his head in his hands.
"Dantalis?"
He refused to answer.
"Dantalis listen to me you must keep fighting him. Do not let him devour you completely."
"What's the point? Every second I'm trapped every time he hurts her a piece of me dies. It is the worse torture to not be able to stop the pain, to know he will only get stronger. The dagger is gone I saw her face when he destroyed it. He has broken her she has no hope left."
"There is always hope Dantalis we will find another way."
"There is no other way!"
The fear in his eyes was almost too much to bare.
"I would rather die then be forced to watch him hurt her any more."
"Dantalis have faith She is stronger then you think."
"And what do you think will happen to her when she is forced to kill her own father?!"
"She will get through it but you need to keep fighting she needs you to keep fighting."
"No she needs to kill me only when she kills me will she be free."
"That is not the answer Dantalis."
"You don't understand he marked her!"
"What!"
"Now you get it don't you she has to kill me otherwise she will be forever linked to him. The only other way to break the bond is to give up on ever finding another mate and that would be a fate worse then death."
I couldn't believe it that monster had marked my daughter. What had Soneillon done to her forced her into a marked union with a male trapped inside his own mind her only other option was the break the mark and forever be alone.
Suddenly I realised what it meant.
"Two choices lay ahead."
Dantalis looked to me confusion in his eyes.
i finally knew what Michael meant by her fate was worse then death.
Hands wrapped around my throat , Soneillon had regained control.
"What are you talking about Archangel?"
I smiled knowing I would take what I knew to the grave I only wish I could be around to see his downfall.
