Synopsis

Son Of Time

The life of a boy, unknown by all, just looking for a home…

Everyone sees him, but never remembers…

His name? Lucius Filius Saeculi

This tale is a direct account of his travels from home to a place he could never be accepted at…

The Olympian Camp.

Tale 0: Beginnings

As I walked home that day, I never knew what I would be going through the past few weeks...

I just got out of school and felt an odd chill. I decided to get home quickly, just on instinct I expected the normal bullies. Yet, that day alone the emergency vehicles I saw were odd enough. It seemed like they were heading in the same direction, but I beat them. I don't know how, but I simply did.

When I got there, my feeling was confirmed terrifyingly. The house was a huge piece of charcoal. Still lit, and I knew nothing could survive.

I barely turned eighteen, and now I had nowhere to go. No family, extended or otherwise, but as I turned to get away from the horror, I heard a voice within myself, simply urging me to first check the remains. The cops still not being there, I simply walked in. The house was at one time a beautiful colonial baby blue, and no expense was skipped over. Yet, now pure black in every way. Go to your gift, the voice urged me. I was unable to get upstairs, so my room was out of the question. What could it mean?, I wondered. Then, I saw it. A blade with two distinct colors. One side appeared to be bronze, and the other a distinct steel edge. However, as I got near, it radiated cold. And I saw a darker metal connecting the two.  It appeared to be iron, but that would never work. I realized a blade like that is impossible to make. "How do I know that," I said aloud. Then, I saw him. A man that was pure fluid in age. He constantly shifted, but the blade was in front of him. Kneel, my son, he said. You're my dad?!?! I yelled.

Yes, but this is the last time you will see me. My other family has begun its war, which will undoubtedly repeat history once more. This sword was made for you, it shall help you hone your gifts, as well as give you purpose as one of your kind deserves.

What if I don't take it, I responded. What if you destroyed the house, and I take the fall for your actions?

You have lived a hard life, but a son of mine, you are, and thus I would never destroy you. Even now, my abilities keep the "emergency services" at bay.

Tell me your name. If you are my father, that is the best you could do.

You have it, Saeculi. Quite simply put it is, as well.

I will take the sword, but I will not kneel just yet.

You will in time, the man said with a smile. Now take the blade.

As I reached out, the sword simply appeared in my hand. It felt almost like air on a winter day, like light, but still just as cold.

I ran from there, instantly heading to the woods nearby. I had fond memories there.

But they all seemed to be a blur. What could I remember? What was real? The sword? That life? Why did I say "that life"?

I know only one thing…

Only time will tell…

Just as this thought occurs to me, I hear a roar. Not human, but at the same time, not an animal. More like a mix. I'm not scared to say it, I ran. Even with my new blade, I decided to name it. I know, sad right, but as my only possession other than my clothes, I decided it had to be called something to call it my own. Taking my old lessons from my family, I named it Interitus, for the way they died. Pure destruction and everything they own desolate. In other words complete annihilation, which is exactly what I would use it for once I learned how to.

I would fight many battles to reach a somewhat safe place. The first came about three days after the beginning of my travels…
