Chapter 55 - First contact with Fiends

Instead of confronting the bear head-on, Gin and Shaun retreated discussing how to defeat it, while the bear pursued.

"This bear is abnormal, it's strength is equal to some weak Seal opening stage practitioners," Shaun commented.

Even though Gin hasn't fought any seal opening practitioners, he knows about their strength.

The Seal opening practitioner's strength varies based on the number of hidden seals they discovered in the Physique enrichment stage.

For example, if a Physique Enrichment practitioner who just uncovered 7 hidden seals breakthroughs to the Seal opening stage, his/her strength will naturally be weak.

The number of hidden seals one uncovers at the Physique Enrichment stage determines one's future achievement, potential, and strength.

The weakest known Seal opening practitioners is the one who just discovered 6 hidden seals, their strength should be somewhat around 25,000 when they open their first seal.

You can say, a person's strength will double when they open their first seal. For example, a person who discovered 9 hidden seals with a strength of 20,000 Kg will have a strength of 40,000 Kg when they open their first seal.

It's also the reason why many try to discover as many hidden seals as possible in the Physique Enrichment stage.

The orange collared bear that pursuing them has a strength of 40,000 kg. Moreover, its entire body was covered in thick furs that shield most of the attacks.

'It's a good target to practice my Fistforce.' Gin mused. "Brother Shaun, occupy it for a moment."

Shaun nodded, he trusts Gin entirely and also anticipates what type of skill he would use to break the thick fur of the bear.

Shaun engaged the bear with his icy-glare long sword, even though he won't be able to break it's defense, keeping it busy for a few seconds is not a problem for him.

Gin closed his eyes and recalled the feeling he underwent when he first used the Fistforce. Like last time, the vivid images of his practice flashed before his eyes.

Even though it was a flash, he saw the pictures of him practicing his fist techniques from infancy to present.

Soon, a strange force gathered around his fist like the previous time. 'This is it, it's the same feeling!'

Unlike last time, he could feel the force gathered around his fist is a lot stronger and more fierce. It felt natural in his hands but he wasn't able to control it.

"Brother Shaun, lure it towards me!" Gin shouted and prepared his attack.

Shaun swiftly backed away, while the bear chased after him. Soon, the bear arrived within Gin's attack range.

Shaun retreated while Gin took his place and lunged at the bear. The bear angrily waved its glistening claw, noticing Gin's figure.

Gin punched at the bear's head while nimbly avoiding the bear's claw in the mid-air. When the Gin's punch struck bear's head, a 'booming' sound resounded, shaking the entire surroundings.

All the grasses, shrubs, and plants within a 5-meter radius were blasted away, even the nearby ancient tree shook greatly shedding half of its leaves.

The bear which is at the center of the impact is even more pitiful, a fist-size dent could be seen on its face with a hole at the back of its head.

Its head was minced beyond recognizing, while blood plopped mixed with some white things like that of the mashed brain.

In the next second, the bear faded leaving behind a silver token. The token burst into small particles and entered the token in Gin's pocket rising the number on it.

Not bothering about any of this, Gin stupefyingly stared at his fist. He was really surprised, he thought his fist would at most heavily injure the bear. He didn't expect a one-shot kill.

Gin knows, the fistforce he performed just now is definitely stronger and more destructive than the previous one. He just doesn't know the reason.

There's another person more stupefied than Gin here—Shaun. He was dumbstruck by what he witnessed and stupefyingly stared Gin.

'What did he just see? A Fistforce!!' Shaun couldn't believe his eyes and even doubted they are playing tricks on him.

"Gin, Y-You comprehended a Fistforce," Shaun screamed.

When Gin turns around to answer Shaun, a weakness assaulted him — nearly toppling him forward.

Thankfully, Shaun quickly caught him while Gin felt like the strength in his body was sucked dry, leaving nothing behind.

Gin quickly circulated his breathing technique and absorbed the essence energy in the surrounding which in turn replenished his lost strength and stamina.

After a few minutes, Gin was back to his perfect state but he couldn't still shake off that slight tiredness he was feeling.

"Gin, your way of using the Fistforce is crude, you need to learn how to control it," Shaun stated.

"Fistforce is a mysterious force generated from one's body based on one's comprehension. In a sense, it's an embodiment of one's highest form of strength."

"If you use fistforce without having perfect control, it will suck your energy dry," Shaun explained.

Hearing Shaun's explanation, Gin understood. 'So that's the case'

Just now he used his fistforce without constraint as he doesn't know how to utilize it properly. If he had perfect control, he would have killed the bear with just 20% of force.

"Don't use fistforce in battle before achieving perfect control," Shaun suggested.

Gin too understood if exhaust himself in the middle of the battle that would do no good and he may get himself killed

"Let's go,"

Just after Gin and Shaun took a few steps, they heard a shrill scream followed by sinister laughter.

The scream was filled with misery and sadness as if the one who screamed is enduring nightmarish torment.

Looking at each other, Gin and Shaun sprinted towards the direction of the scream. Within a minute they reached the location, just to witness a gruesome scene.

Fifty youths were currently battling and cornering three girls who all had tears in their eyes. Meanwhile, a tall man was holding a girl by her hair while his other hand played with a short axe.

One of the three girls in that group is none other than Luna Moon. All the three girls including the girl who was caught by the tall man wore an ocean-blue jacket, the same as that of Luna's.

The tall-man is none other than the Fiend named Drakfang, one of the six strongest Fiend in the Physique Enrichment stage.

At the same time, some distance away from them is a brawny, pale white Fiend standing 6 feet 5 inches tall. He was using his knife, slowly hacking a youth's final limb who's twitching in pain pressed under his powerful leg.

What's truly horrifying is, the knife had a hard toothed edge like the one woodcutter's use. Gin couldn't imagine the anguish and mental torment, the youth was currently undergoing.

Another fifty-some Fiend minions were standing in a circular motion watching this horrible scene with no signs of pity, they even cheered and commented among themselves.

Just a look, Gin knows they are the rumored 'Fiends' who wreak havoc in the human continents. But, he didn't expect they would be this cruel; torturing and humiliating a human life.

"Hahaha. Refreshing! Refreshing! Why does the human's pitiful cry always energize me?" Darkfang had an intoxicating feeling on his face, "Sharp-tooth, I want to hear him scream more!"

Watching this scene, Gin felt some kind of switch has been lifted in his mind while killing intent surfaced in his eyes and a murderous aura boiled inside him.

When Gin looked at Shaun, his reaction is much more violent than him. He was glaring at the Fiends with a bloodthirsty look, his eyes were red in fury while murderous aura many times thicker than Gin emanated from his body.

Shaun's reaction is nothing like something triggered by watching the scene before him, but more like a carving that stems from his soul.

Just a look Gin knows Shaun has some kind of deep enmity with the Fiends. He didn't know what the Fiends have done to Shaun for him to exude such heavy bloodthirsty aura, but he knows it won't be anything pleasant.

Gin shook Shaun's body a little, "Brother Shaun, snap out of it."

"I-i want to kill them all" Shaun hoarsely spoke.

"We are going to, but you need to be clearheaded." Gin said while Shaun nodded, suppressing his fury.

"Boss, there's another two lambs. Your idea of attracting humans using the fellow human's tragic scream is truly amazing." A Fiend minion licked his lips and commented.

The Fiend minion's eyes fixed in a particular direction, heeding his glare all the Fiends noticed the figures of Gin and Shaun.

"It's only been ten minutes, but we managed to attract two teams. First these four girls, now there's another two."

"Boss, I think if we let the human girl scream, we will attract even more humans. I heard women's screams are high pitched and travel a long distance."

Paying no heed to the comments of the Fiend Minions, Darkfang glanced at Gin and Shaun before ordering: "Go and capture them, alive!"
