Chapter 72 - Training with a vampire (I)

When he returned from Va, after failing to save the sisters, Fishy listened to Lilith's advice and hid in his room. Two weeks passed before he eventually stepped outside. The magic barrier placed around his house stopped anyone from entering, no one knows what went on inside the barrier during Fishy's absence. The whole city had other problems to worry about, so the only people that know are Fishy and Lilith.

"Let me rest for a bit…" Fishy collapsed on his bed as he didn't even bother to get changed out of his dirty clothes. His journey back from Va was fierce as it was a constant walk through rough root-filled terrain from wicked trees that spread far.

"No. Lock the door. Close all the windows and curtains. No one is to see what is about to happen in here."

Fishy was suspicious but went along with it. He had never seen Lilith in that way before as her body looks underage, but his mind did slightly wander, which caused Lilith to smack him as hard as she could.

"Did you forget that I can feel your emotions, Pervert? Hurry up and surround this house in a barrier, make sure no one gets in or out."

"Alright…" Fishy looked around as if he was visualising the entire layout of his house, mapping it in his mind. And with a simple push of his hands, he covered his house in a magical barrier.

"Good." Lilith sat in the centre of the cluttered bedroom, waiting for Fishy to sit down opposite her.

"I'm going to use vampire magic on you. Then I'll train you how to use magic well, you should use your ability to your advantage."

"Ok…" Fishy stared at the mediating Lilith and watched as her soft hand gently pushed him backwards with almost no force as if Fishy was a light balloon.

His view flipped to the ceiling, but he didn't stop falling once his back hit the ground. He rotated around where he was sitting as if it was a pivot point, and by the time he opened his eyes, the world around him was black.

The walls of his room had vanished. The entire area spanned farther than any eye could see. He looked down at the thin layer of water that was covering the floor, reflecting his distorted self that was being revealed by the endless black abyss. He attempted to kick through it as it drained away before he could even swing. Along with the water went his reflection as a small ball of light slowly faded in, turning the dark abyss into white.

"Where am I?" He said.

"This is a world vampire's created with their magic." Lilith appeared before him at the moment Fishy blinked. "This spell was created so vampires could go all out during their fights without worrying about destroying the nearby area. The area is infinite so it's easy to get lost."

"Is this my real body?"

"It is your real body, but this is not my real body. I'm trapped in the real world, in a form of stasis. Should someone come along and stab me in the heart I wouldn't know. I don't know what happens to my body while I'm here."

"What happens if you die? Do you suddenly leave?" Fishy continued to ask 100 questions.

"Sadly not, the magic doesn't end until I leave this place, but dying doesn't force me out of it. I could be dead right now and wouldn't know until I leave. Some vampires have trapped themselves in this alienation chamber. Eventually, you'd go insane and debate about if you've died or not. You'd only find out when you leave."

"So, if you die, you are stuck here forever or you accept your fate and return to your dead body where you'll die?"

"Exactly. It sounds confusing but makes logical sense."

Fishy took another look at his surroundings now that everything was lit up, not that there was anything to see.

Lilith stood before Fishy watching his movements.

Over 600 chances.

That was the number Lilith counted in 5 seconds. The number of openings Fishy left on himself. And she wanted to bring that number down to zero.

"Are you ready to start training?"

Lilith didn't wait for an answer and darted ahead towards Fishy.

It was over in a second.

Fishy was pushed to the ground.

In that moment of hesitation, Fishy would have died.
