Chapter 63 - Gabriel's Presence

The thoughts of Death were already there.

At each step, they assumed their lives were over.

Despite how he looks, with his grey hair and beard, he was far stronger than anything anyone could imagine.

"D-dad…" Robin called out whilst Callie hid behind her, slowly walking forward as if to not make him move. "We came here, just like you asked…"

Robin's voice trembled as her legs were about to give way. Fishy watched as they brushed past him to stand by their father's side.

Fishy's mind was aware of what was going to happen. All he had to do was reach out his arm. Grab one of them and never let go. His fingers twitched as his eyes wanted to shut in hopes it'll be over quickly, but a voice inside his head was telling him otherwise.

"Don't do it!" Lilith screamed to Fishy. "You'll get us all killed!"

Fishy was already aware. Even Vogef, the man who was in charge of King Dean's army, was aware that he could be killed at any moment and could only hope to stand perfectly still and cause no commotion, like a disciplined child facing their parents.

"F-fishy…" Vogef tried to whisper without making eye contact. He kept looking at the ground as his body became unable to support his own armour. His legs acted as if they weren't there, but he still hopelessly tried to stand.

"Don't do anything stupid." Lilith kept repeating to Fishy who couldn't take his eyes off of the despair in Callie and Robin's face. "He's far stronger than any of us. Even the celestials would have a hard time dealing with him! We have to back off! We are bugs to him!"

Lilith's words weren't getting through to Fishy. His trembling mouth slightly opened but Gabriel's cold eyes latched onto Fishy and wouldn't let go. The world around him felt as if it had already gone extinct. With one look, Fishy's fate was already determined.

"Remember what I said? If you want to fight this then I will leave you to die. And you'd only be guaranteeing the deaths of those around you. Don't be selfish! Think of everyone waiting for you to return!"

"F-fishy…" Vogef tried to call out again. But no words were getting into Fishy's mind.

"It's ok!" Robin said as her hair covered her eyes. Her voice, pulling Fishy out of his crazed state. "We'll go with you. We won't resist..."

Robin's face never rose. The smile both her and Callie had in the city of Fintan seemed as if it would never return. A distant memory they could only hold onto in themselves.

It seemed as if they would never return.

"Smart choice," Gabriel said as a large circular portal opened up behind him. A blue mystery to both Fishy and Vogef that lit up the empty castle grounds in its sapphire glow.

"I promise we'll return to the city!"

Those were Robin's last words before the portal sealed itself shut. Fishy stood with his hand stretched out in front of him, open, as if he once believed he had a chance to catch them.

The city of Va was quickly lit up with the sounds of Fishy's screams as he crumbled on the floor.

He bashed his hands against the hard stone path that quickly became red with his blood. His rage swarmed the area as a dark purple aura leaked off of him. One that was so powerful that any normal human was able to see it. It slithered out as it filled the streets of the city. All animals that spread deep into the forest were trying to flee. Even Kane, the demi-human that Fishy met in the forest, could feel his demonic presence, and even recoiled as it washed over him.

"Fishy calm down!" Lilith screamed from inside Fishy's shadow, but he couldn't hear her.

His thoughts were erratic.

"Fishy! What's going on!" Vogef screamed but it was pointless. The pressure from Fishy was blowing him away. High-pressure winds risked wiping the city off the map. The city was already falling unconscious from his screams.

"Fucking idiot!" Lilith, having one option, jumped out of Fishy's shadow into Vogef's view. He was shocked at first, seeing a blonde-haired child jump out of nowhere, but he had no other choice but to listen to her as they both resisted passing out from the pressure.

"Sorry, Master. I understand your anger, I do. But right now, we can't do anything."

The next thing Fishy remembered, was suddenly waking up in some random damp bed.
