It turns out that father was actually a talented and well known blacksmith, many people came to the shop to buy weapons and a few even order some to be custom made. What shocked me most was dad mostly used magic to for his creations, his own flame to heat the metal then strengthening and bending the metal with his bare hands using earth magic like a hammer. My very first lesson was to create the hottest flame I could and hold it, and he had me do that for hours. At first I count even hold it for fifteen minutes but after several months I could hold it for over three hours which was plenty of time to create various weapons. He also taught me how to strengthen my hands with Earth magic. After a few days of this I noticed he would never use diamond or steel only iron. "Hey dad" I called out "why do you use only iron on your hands instead of a harder material?" He stared at me blankly, "what do you mean a harder material, iron is one of the strongest Metals on the planet" at this I facepalmed. This world has got a lot of catching up to do.
For the first few months I practiced my magic routine and at the same time I now added the forge into my morning, I mostly just watched and asked a few question while dad made me practice and hold the spell called Iron Will which is what makes your hands harder. But lately I would use steel instead and on outside of my hands i would use iron to keep my dad fooled. He would teach me how how the different kinds of flames affected each metal. How the different patterns of impact or the angels you impact you the metal with Iron Will can change the way the blade is wrapped. Granted he could make lots of everyday items but in all honesty he was a weapons blacksmith so that's what he taught me. After grabbing a chair he sat in the corner of you room, "if you need me I'll be right here." What should I make a pondered right myself. He hasn't really taught me anything other then techniques and the basics of smithing I've never actually created something my own. After around thirty minuets of thinking and hitting down ideas I finally had it. "Dad I'm gonna make a spring" huh "why" just watch I'll show why. For the next 30 minuets I took a piece of metal and slowly created into a wire before wrapping it around a hammers Handel to get the shape. It wasn't super springy but it did it's job. Next I fashioned a hollow handle and a thine blade. After putting the spring at the bottom of the handle I moved the blade into it as well. Until I had to use a piece of wood to finish pushing the blade into the handle. After I put a metal top on the handle, I stepped back nodding at my work. "Um what exactly is it son" "look dad it's a hidden blade after you take this little cap off the blade will spring from the handle and now you have a knife. "See" then proceeded to demonstrate.
"Well how much do you think you could sell it for"? "I don't know dad your the professional", "yes son but I've never seen a weapon like this, undoubtedly though someone will buy it. Especially someone who is skilled in the art of assassination." "Wow really you think so dad" I'll go tell mom. After watching his son scamper off a deep look of worry appeared on his face "I need to be careful depending who I sell this too. It could lead to dire consequences, nobody can know about my boys talent yet it is too dangerous".
