Kei and Co. Returned to the capital only to find the streets empty. They thought it was weird. The city was always bustling. Then a police car came and stopped by them asking for their identification and the reason the are out after the crufew.
"why would there be a curfew? This country never had curfews before?" - Kei. The police officer looked pissed off and said " you think this is the time for joking? Quarantine has been out for 4 months and you're acting surprised about it now?" - officer
Kei just knocked the guy out and took his phone to check the date. It turns out half a year had passed since they left for their exploration. During this time a pandemic had spread. A virus called covid-19 had infected over 20 million people and infection rates aren't going down. Worse is its rapidly mutating and no vaccines are working at all.
Cure research is slowing down and the infectivity, severity and lethality are increasing. By the time they found out about this info they found several police cars heading towards their direction and surrounding them.
"what are we gonna do?" - Andy. "just tell them we came to the street to check the man cause he suddenly collapsed. The guy doesn't remember I knocked him out anyway." - kei
The the officers came to check the knocked out police officer and surrounded Kei and Co. And asked them for their identification. After checking them. They asked for evidence that they are students otherwise they should have been in the army.
They had turned 18 during the time skip but they still hadn't gotten their college ID cards. Seeing that they had no proof of being students the officers asked them to come with them to a police station so that they can confirm the validity of kei and Co's claims.
While they were waiting in the police station Jimmy was nervous and fidgety. He kept pacing the room . Andy and yato were calming him down saying they have super powers and there is nothing to worry about and so on while Kei just directly slept.
"wake up man. Why are you even sleepy, When we are in this situation? " - Jimmy. "I don't have any ice cream right now. So I'm sleeping" - Kei said seriously. "is that a side effect or something? Is that the reason you're always eating ice cream?" - yato
A police officer entered and interrupted their conversation. He sat behind the desk and that's when they noticed that there is a plate on the desk with the words" My 3 favorite things are eating my family and not using commas." written on it.
" nice plate"-Kei had to comment when seeing such a rare scene. "ignore the plate, you are people who are protesting against military conscription. You didn't register and get drafted to the army despite not being students." - said the officer.
"what? did you even check properly? We are registered in our college. We even payed the tuition fees!" - Kei. "yeah but it's just a fee. You don't have any attendance records. So it's only one paper that says you are in a college." the officer stood from behind his desk and walked to them with an annoying grin. "No exams. No attendance. So if I get rid of that single document. You will have to face punishment from the law." - the officer grinned smugly.
He grabbed Kei's shirt and said "I could let you go if you do as I say tho" before the officer could take more Kei grabbed the officers hand and squeezed slightly. Even though it did not break his bones it was still painful enough for the officer to howl in pain and cause several other officers to rush in the room.
The officer howled "Do you know who I am? It's over for you. You attacked an officer while doing his job and you attempted to kill so we killed you in self defense. No one would even be able to refute this and I have witnesses" the officer pointed at the other policemen who just entered.
"Do I know who you are? Let me ask you, do you know who you are? You are nothing! As for attempting to kill you I'm even disinclined to argue about that point but let me be clear. Raise your guns if you have a death wish." - Kei.
The corrupt officer said " shoot him". The other 5 lackeys took out their guns and aimed, but stopped cause Kei suddenly smiled. He looked genuinely happy. "Thanks. I was getting worried that with too much power and without an adventure I might start killing innocent people. However, it looks like I won't run out of people who are asking to die."
"To think you guys decided to offer yourself as a sacrifice to appease me and make sure I won't turn to the dark side. I promise I won't forget you as the first background characters to be my stress balls" - Kei said in an appreciative tone.
The officers were looking at him in confusion. "Andy show us how us how much time a person needs to kill 4 normal humans" by the time Kei finished this sentence a blue streak had flashed and 4 heads were falling to the ground.
"what do we do now? For some reason I'm getting excited." - yato. "let's go to our hq first and notify our families that we are safe. We told them half a month yet we were gone for half a year." - kei
