Chapter 9 - Nightmare

Akeno, the queen of Rias Gremory, turned in her sleep as she dreamed again of an old crypt, each time she looked at her, she could hear a dark voice speaking in an old language. Somehow, however, she knew what she was saying, she spoke softly, almost seductively.

The vision changed, she could now see a cage. A hideous cage intended to enclose and torture its host. Inside there was a being in the shadows, chained and bound. It was then that she heard a voice that was almost ... soothing.

???: Power… come to me and you will have unlimited power. You priestess of thunder, go to the crypt, only you can free my greatest warriors, and only they can free me. Release them and when I too will be free from my chains, you will be able to take revenge on the man who abandoned you and I will bring back to life the person you love most in this world.

On these last words, the voice changed into a demonic growl and a Big Eye, without eyelid and crowned with flames filled her sight and she was so frightened that she awoke screaming.

Rias: Akeno, are you okay?

The young Princess Gremory rushed into her best friend's room and hugged her. She was panting heavily and sweating profusely. However, on closer inspection, Rias saw that it was not fear that Akeno felt, but anticipation and desire. Since her mother had been killed for having a daughter with a fallen angel, the young woman had a horrible nightmare every night and sometimes she woke up crying. However, this dream seemed to have changed the queen.

Akeno: I'm fine Rias, better than good.

Rias looked confusedly at her best friend. Usually, she had to comfort her for several hours before she stopped crying, but this time her gaze was filled with a determination that she had never seen at her's. She stayed with Akeno a few more minutes to make sure she was fine, before going back to her room to sleep, yet many doubts reigned in her mind.

Being alone again, the hybrid sat there staring at the void in front of her. After a short moment, she got up and went to the bookcase in her room. She picked up a red-bound book, which seemed to have no special characteristics except that it was slightly worn by time.

It was not the first time that she had dreamed of it. Shortly after becoming the Queen of Rias, the images of the crypt appeared in her dreams. It was only recently that she heard a voice murmur captivating words. Honestly the power that this entity offered her for her revenge for her father had already seduced her, but when he had promised to resuscitate her mother, she knew she had to do everything to free him. Ironically, she was ready to sell her soul to a worse thing than the Devil, for see her mother again.

To this end, she has done a lot of research to find out where the crypt of her visions could be. The book she was holding is the culmination of her research. It is a unique book in the world, one day she found it in the private library of the Gremory family, hidden behind another book. Was it fate or some other force at work in the world that enabled him to find this book? Who can know?

Having flipped through it many times, Akeno went directly to page 46. On this page was the engraving of a famous valley in the Underworld, the Morningstar valley. This place is famous for the Devils because Lucifer himself had forbidden access to this place, even today the Gremory family ensures that nobody enters it.

The account of the book tells that Lucifer once stole a very precious object from his father. To recover this object Yahweh declared war on Lucifer. Although at the end of the conflict the two beings lost their lives, the Devils respected the will of their creator and protected the stolen object. According to this book this object is in the Morningstar Valley.

Akeno is convinced that the object mentioned in the book is the crypt that she must find. A great determination appeared in her eyes, to resuscitate her mother she will have to enter a place forbidden for the race of the Devils and will have perhaps even to betray the family which welcomed her.
