Imperial capital, Colosseum
Najenda observed the state of his companions. Everyone was exhausted from their fight against Budo. Particularly Mine who had to sacrifice her Teigu to eliminate Budo.
Najenda: Tatsumi takes Mine with you and brings her back to the base. Akame, Leone, Susanoo, we are going to face Anárion.
Tatsumi: I can too ...
Najenda: Tatsumi! Look around you!
The young man watched his friends. He could see the determination in their eyes which only strengthened his will to fight with them. However, seeing Mine's exhausted state, he finally understood his mistake. If Mine remained on the battlefield she would inevitably be targeted by their enemy and without her Teigu she would have no chance of surviving.
Activating her armor, Tatsumi carried Mine like a princess, much to the latter's embarrassment. The couple quickly flee leaving their friends to fight the Imperial General. From start to finish, Anárion watched the small group with a slight smile.
Najenda: Thanks for not intervening.
Anárion: These two people don't interest me at all. I am here for you.
Anárion thought: Besides, the boy still has a part to play in this story.
Najenda: Me? You mean the Night Raid.
Anárion: No, your little assassin group is just a little distraction for me. You, on the other hand, are the heroine and one of the leaders of the revolutionary army. Imagine the chaos that your disappearance will cause.
At these words, the Ash Pheonix revealed a dozen flaming spears that flew towards the leader of the Night Raid. Before he could reach him, one of the assassins used his weapon to sweep them away.
Anárion: So you betrayed me, Susanoo
The mentioned man frowned at the words mentioned by his opponent.
Susanoo: Sorry, but I won't let you kill my friends ... Father
The assassins were shocked to hear the relationship between the two men.
Leone: What are you saying Susanoo?
Anárion: Do you tell them or do you prefer it to be me?
The blue haired man hesitated slightly, but seeing the confusion and doubt that reigned around his companions, he decided to tell them the truth.
Susanoo: 1000 years ago, the first Emperor was looking for a way to make the Empire last for all eternity. A mysterious individual appeared before the Emperor and offered him a new weapon to achieve his ambition. He was later known as the creator of the Teigus and the greatest blacksmiths the Empire has ever known. He attended the creation of all the Teigus including me, however he disappeared shortly after my creation during the construction of the 48th Teigu. I can assure you that the man before us is my creator.
The Night Raid was stunned by Susanoo's revelation.
Najenda: W-Wait! You are saying that the man in front of us is over 1000 years old!
Akame: How is that possible?
Leone: For an old man, it is very well preserved. At least that explains the white hair.
Anárion: If this kind of detail surprises you so much, know that I already existed before your race took its first steps, and I will continue to exist long after your civilization has turned to dust.
The assassins felt anxious about fighting such an ancient being. But they quickly dismissed the thought, this was neither the place nor the time to think about it.
Najenda: It doesn't change anything, if you want to destroy the revolution we will eliminate you.
Anárion: There is no point in opposing me. I know what you are fighting for and I promise you that the new Empire I foresee will not be corrupted by any rubbish nobles. Join me and together we'll make a better world
Najenda: We will never join a person who uses his comrades as chess pieces.
The Imperial General shook his head negatively, as if what he was about to accomplish was sincere regret.
Anárion: It's a shame. As an elder let me teach you one more thing ...
Suddenly Najenda felt a great pain that made her grab her chest, it was even more painful than when Esdeath had cut off her arm and destroyed her eye. Looking down, she saw an arrow oozing black liquid pierce her chest and her left hand stained with blood.
Anárion:… Never argue with someone who wants you dead.
Pov, Nolondil, a few moments earlier.
On the roof of the Colosseum stood a tall man outfitted in dark armor. He looked like most black Numenoreans except that he was armed with a large bow measuring almost two meters, a quiver strapped to his back, and a one-handed sword fitted to his belt.
The God-King Sauron had ordered Nolondil to wait for his signal and shoot the young woman with the silver hair if she refused to serve her master. Personally, Nolondil did not understand the reasoning of his target. She and her friends are fighting to make the Empire's corruption go away. His master is many things: a manipulator, a conqueror, but not a corrupt one. The lure of gain is not something that interests Sauron, he uses wealth to weaken his enemies.
After serving Sauron for millennia Nolondil understood what kind of king his master is. A great ruler for his people and a monster for his enemies. It would therefore be reasonable for the Night Raid to bow to the Dark Lord
Seeing his king shake his head negatively, Nolondil notched an arrow and shot the young woman. Unfortunately, the sudden appearance of a gust of wind deflected the arrow slightly, missing the vital organ of its aim. The blue haired man immediately charged Sauron to prevent him from attacking the other assassins, his two friends positioned themselves to block another ambush.
Seeing that his arrow had missed the heart of its target and strayed slightly to the right, the black Numenorean frowned. As a master archer, missing a stationary target is hugely frustrating. Fortunately her arrows are imbued with Morgul's poison, the leader of the Night Raid will inevitably die, it will only take a few more minutes.
His mission accomplished Nolondil emitted a long high-pitched whistle, at his call two giant bats measuring over a meter high flew towards him. Each of them grabbed one of his shoulders and carried him outside the arena. His presence no longer being necessary, the black Numenorean returned to his brothers.
