Valar: The Valar are powers created by Eru Ilúvatar. They are part of the Ainur, but decided to go to Arda to make it better. They have a physical representation, but are generally naked, that is, in the form of a spirit. They often appear in human form, depending on their powers. They are all equal in majesty, and their physical form only serves to fade their radiance. There are fourteen, seven Kings and seven Queens. Melkor is no longer among the Valar and his name is no longer pronounced.
Yavanna: She loves everything that grows on Earth and is at the origin, for example, of the Ents. She is often in human form, being a woman or a magnificent tree. She is called the Queen of the Earth. She is married to Aulë
Aulë: He is the master of the Earth and its treasures. He is master blacksmith and sculpts the relief of Middle-earth. Everything in it belongs to him: gold, silver, mithril ... He is very similar to Melkor by his powers and his will to create something new and unexpected. But he was doing Eru's will, unlike Melkor
Manwë: Manwë is the king of the Valar and the most powerful of them after his brother Morgoth. He is the Lord of the Air and is served by Olórin as well as by the Eagles. Varda is his wife
Varda: The Lady of the Stars. It is so beautiful that it cannot be described in human or elven words. Manwë and Varda rarely separate.
Celebrimbor: Celebrimbor was a Ñoldorin prince, and the last in the line of the House of Fëanor, who lived in Middle-earth. He was a ruler of Eregion in the Second Age, and a master smith. He was fooled by Sauron, who came to him under the garb of Annatar, the Lord of Gifts. He learned a lot from his contact and Celebrimbor forged with him the Dwarfs (the Seven) and Men (the Nine) Power Rings. But he forged alone the Three Rings of the Elves, and when he had pierced the black designs of Sauron who had just created the One Ring, he concealed them, putting them in the hands of Galadriel, Cîrdan and Gil-galad. Sauron, furious at not being able to appropriate the Three, waged an atrocious war which led to the birth of the Bright Lord.
Melkor: Morgoth (In Sindarin, Black Enemy) or Melkor is a fallen Vala and the first Dark Lord. It will be during the First Age the main threat of the Elves, Men and Dwarfs. He is the former master of Sauron.
Maiar: The Maiar are part of the Ainur, the deities from the spirit of Eru Ilúvatar, the creator god. These are second rank spirits who serve the Valar.
