Selene and Chronos entered the luxurious cruiser 'Artemis' that belonged to the Black Phoenix Conglomerate, designated for Chronos' personal use.
Fully furnished, with powerful defensive systems, it is one of the most advanced ships on the planet.
" This ship!? Is it yours!? " (Selene)
" No dear, it is ours. " (Chronos)
" Why is that? " (Selene)
" When the owner of the ship belongs to you, so does the ship. Isn't it, my lady? " (Chronos)
Selene blushed. " Shameless. " She muttered.
Selene was smart enough to realize that Chronos liked her. But, she couldn't quite accept it.
Every time she declared her love for something (toys or accessories or places) or someone (parents, grandfather, friends at school, etc.), she was given a cold shoulder and a glare.
She didn't dare imagine that Chronos loved her.
In her eyes, Chronos was just interested in her. Much like an inquisitive child interested in a new toy.
'The moment the curiosity towards me ends, I will just be tossed aside.' She thought.
Meanwhile, Chronos was racking his brains to make her fall for him without having to save her from some crisis like a shining knight in white armor or have her gratitude turn into love by showering her with gifts and luxuries in exchange for marrying/loving her.
He did not think of her as a girl who would lust after men with enormous wealth, handsome looks and social standing (All of which were qualities that defined him anyway).
He wanted her to fall in love with him without minding his standing in society, his wealth and looks or because he was the prince who saved her from the jaws of death.
He wanted her to love him as Chronos the person, not Chronos the savior or Chronos the handsome or Chronos the CEO. He fell for her in the same way as well.
She was beautiful but that wasn't the reason he loved her. He loved everything about her, the good side and the bad side.
The two of them shared the silence, immersed in their own thoughts.
They had their own thoughts regarding their lives. One had a strong attachment to life, the life of his partner that is. One had indifference towards life and death, love and hate and society.
