Chapter 3 - First battle?

It was fairly apparent now that he had found himself on a different world then the one, he was used to. Instead of seeing the usual yellowish sun in the sky, one that shined in bright blue had taken its place. He was also pretty certain that he could see the contour of not one but several moons in the sky as it grew darker outside.

While the forest had been eerily quiet and he had been unable to see many animals, some could be glimpsed from a distance. Two of which had greatly surprised him, one had looked like a two-headed cow but that seemed to shine with a bronze metallic lustre. The second one had been what could only be described as a giant lizard that flew high up in the sky with black smoke swirling around itself.

Deep in thoughts, Lucas failed to notice a creature slowly creeping up on him from his left. With great speed it lunged upon him.

Noticing something appearing at the corner of his eyes Lucas out of reflex raised his arms to protect himself.

Agony hit his left arm as a short creature barely one and a half meter tall with the head of a dog was ruthlessly biting down on it. Screaming out from the pain and surprise of being bitten by the creature, he stated to try and fling it of his arm.

The creature however bit down with even more intent and blood started to drip down from its maw, unsure of what to do Lucas began to hit it with his right fist but nothing seemed to help as the pain and fear of what was happening made him panic.

With a lucky punch to its face Lucas had manged to hit its eye with a part of the stick that he was still clenching in his hand, with a yelp the creature released his arm and started covering its eye while glaring menacingly towards him with the unhurt eye.

Taking a better look at the creature Lucas could see that it was bipedal and looked similar to a short person with ragged clothing if one overlooked its head and the fact it was covered in fur.

Lucas took the chance while the creature still appeared occupied from the pain to turn tail and run for it. Out of instinct from the multiple experiments done to his body previously, he started to heal his left arm, the bitemarks closing up at a visible rate, the lost blood could however not be regained as quickly and it made him feel a bit drowsy and his legs heavy.

Shortly after he started running, Lucas looked back to see if he was being followed and ran straight into a tree, falling to the ground he clutched his pained head from the impact.

The dog like creature had quickly followed and seemed to smile triumphantly down at Lucas before quickly closing the distance.

Fearing for his life and unsure on what else to do Lucas clenched onto the stick and stabbed it towards the creature as it lunged towards him and wished for its death.

A soundless ripple flew out of the stick and everything in front of him seemed to turn grey as if someone had suddenly removed all the other colours of the world. Within the blink of an eye the creature started to wither rapidly turning into a dried husk of itself within moments before turning into dust that blew away with the wind, not only the creature turned to dust however as plenty of trees in a straight line at least ten meters wide and fifty meter in length dried out and turned to dust.

Surprised at the outcome he instantly dropped the stick out of fear, as it touched the ground it broke apart as if it had been made of sand and only left behind a small line of ash.

Realization dawned on him as he realized that the stick had most likely been an extremely dangerous weapon given to him as an insurance to use in this seemingly dangerous world. Which sadly he had now promptly used up.

A sense of relief washed over him at being alive. Until a much more urgent and forceful feeling made its way up from his stomach.

After having emptied his stomach of what little content he had left, Lucas decided that now was not the time for regret over having killed a living being for his first time or perhaps the stench now filling the area was the bigger motivator to move on.

While moving on and lost in thoughts he could suddenly hear what sounded like metal hitting something hard. Stopping to listen he could not hear anything.

'What was that?' He thought to himself.

Hesitating Lucas was unsure of what to do, should he go and have a look? Or should he simply walk away from the sound?

Having simply wandered aimlessly his curiosity got the better of him and he decided to move towards where he thought he had heard the sound coming from.

Within minutes he stepped out into a clearing but instantly regretted doing so as he started to retch upon seeing the new scenery.

Blood laid thick upon the ground as several bodies torn apart and tossed around could be seen in the clearing. All the bodies seemed to be wearing either leather or metal armour but looking at what he could only guess to be bite or claw marks could be seen everywhere. Some of the weapons lying around had what he could only guess to be green blood.

So, he could only assume the group had fought and lost against something. Still while the sight and smell made him feel sick.

"There's a survivor"

A beast of a man, much bigger than any he had ever seen and fully armoured was lying on the ground with a big hole around his stomach. For most he would appear dead but Lucas could see that there was still a very small flame burning brightly within him.

In a panic he rushed forward ignoring the ghastly sight around him and started to heal the wound as best he could. Thankfully while tired from walking for what he could only guess to be hours he seemed to have enough energy left to heal this person.

Suddenly a hand grabbed his left arm and its grip felt strong enough to break his arm, Lucas even thought he could hear a creaking sound.

"Please just wait a little and I'll get you all healed up" Lucas tried to say gently through gritted teeth. He had no idea however if this person could even understand him.

"Hohelolarore?" The man asked him.

'hohelolarore? What does that even mean?' Lucas thought before focusing on the task at hand.

Seemingly aware that Lucas was healing him the hand grabbing Lucas arm released its grip.

A short while later the wound was closed and seeing the persons flame burn bright and strong, he knew that his work was finished.

"ToTacockok, dodu rorädoddodadode momitottot lolivov." The man said as he stood up.

The beast, as Lucas referred to him internally, looked to be around two and a half to three meters tall. Fully encased in armour only a pair of golden eyes could be barely seen through a slit of his helmet.

'What did he eat to grow so big and how come his eyes are golden and seem to seem to almost glow in the dark?'

"Ehm, I have no idea what you just said but if your saying thanks you, then your welcome." Silence filled the area as no party seemed to understand the other.

"NoNykokomomlolinongog?" The man said after a short while with what sounded like expectation and glee.

"No?" Lucas answered hesitantly "Do you know know where the nearest town is?" He said while trying to gesture and explain that he was looking for civilization.

"Hahaha, Enon fofärorsoskokinongog! HoHanon äror dodesossosutotomom enon hohelolarore! DoDenon sostotorore momododerornon momåsostote hoha lolysossosnonatot popå mominona bobönoneror." The man started laughing while shouting a bunch of unknown words before his eyes seemed to turn into a beast watching its prey.

"Eh, hah hah, I-I think I'd best be on my way!" Lucas hurriedly said before trying to move far away from here. The long walk without anything to eat coupled with the healing he had just performed had drained him greatly and much to his dismay he stumbled and almost fell before an arm coiled itself around his waist to prevent him from falling.

Suddenly he was hoisted into the air and held by the man like a sack of potatoes in his left arm. With his right he grabbed a great twin headed axe that laid on the ground close by and still seemed unblemished if not for a small splash of green.

Unhappy at being captured but unable to do anything about it, seeing as his punching and kicking on the metal armour only left him sore, while the person in armour seemed uncaring for his antics. Instead the person seemed extremely chipper, laughing and almost bouncing while walking out of the clearing.
