The road seemed to extend into the sun, which was giving in to the cold rein of darkness. The sunset was shimmering across the meadow as the car sped along into the night. I however, after 5 hours of continuous driving, could care less about the beautiful scene unfolding before me. What I did care about though, were my two friends Mackenzie and Aidan in the back seat. They've been my friends for the longest time, I can't even remember how we met. "You guy's excited for the camping trip?" I asked them. They didn't answer. I looked at the back seat to find that they were sleeping soundly. I smiled slightly. I've had a crush on Mackenzie for the longest time, but I'm to insecure to ask her out. I'm awoken from my trance when I hear a truck horn from behind my turned head. My head swivels to see a 18-wheeler speeding towards me, clearly moving too fast for the breaks to be effective. My hands reacted instantaneously, swerving the car right, towards our lane, but it was too late. I wasn't fast enough. The truck hit the back left side of the car, right where Aidan was sitting. The back of the car swung around, flipping the car repeatedly until it flew into a ditch. I was upside down in my seat, and I could partially see the wreckage of the truck on the other side of the road. I tried to unbuckle myself, but before I could, blood ran into my eye, and I blacked out.
