Chapter 8 - Breakfast

This world thrives on a cultivation system that separates the commoners from the chosen ones. It allows specific individuals to become rule above the common masses and become the ever admired, 'wizards.'

Wizards are classified into 5 levels from Tier-1 wizard, all the way up to Tier-5 wizard. The tiers are further broken down into 3 stages - beginner, intermediate, and advanced.

Wizards cultivate one out of the 5 natural elements and specialize in them. The 5 items being - fire, water, air, earth, and lightning. A commoner goes through a ceremony at 12 years old to determine if he is a chosen one or not. The chosen ones get to know their talent affinity with the different natural elements.

Of course, before one can enter a Tier-1 level, he becomes a trainee where he is guided under a wizard of similar elemental affinity like him.

Talent affinity is ranked low-grade, mid-grade, and high-grade. It determines how far the chosen one can cultivate the natural element.

It is a general consensus among the masses that higher the talent affinity, the higher is the potential of a chosen one to become a high-level wizard.

Talent affinity helps the chosen ones to cross the thresholds and advance to the next level in cultivation.

Like a person having low-grade talent finds it more comfortable to break through to a Tier-1 wizard, and any further progress depends on his luck and hard work. Similarly, mid-grade helps till Tier-2, and high grade helps till Tier-3. After Tier-3, there is no known method to easily breakthrough wizard cultivation levels.

But don't underestimate a Tier-1 wizard. A single one of them is more than enough to take down 100's if not 1000's of humans in a single battle. The power growth and elemental exposure a chosen one receives is out of expectation.

Obviously, there are chosen ones with no talent affinity and remain in the trainee stage for their entire lives. Only 1% of the chosen ones are gifted with talent affinities. Out of the 0.1% with mid-grade talent and 0.01% receive high-grade talent affinity.

It is because of this that Kaitlyn is so revered and awed among the citizens of Olham City, as she has a mid-grade talent affinity. Given the fact that she is a trainee wizard, she would have already joined an institute if not for her younger brother giving her so many worries and concerns.

In spite of all the troubles his younger brother carried, she seemed to be emotionally attached to him because of the past.

...

Seeing her sister in front of him, asking the question, Alex could do nothing but answer with patience. Only after letting her steam out and making sure that Alex is truly alright, did Kaitlyn let him off.

"Since you are fit and fine, then let's go & grab the breakfast."

Before Alex could say anything, Kaitlyn grabbed Alex's hand as both of them disappear from the room, leaving our naked Lilah all alone to a peaceful and comfortable sleep.

Even with the blanket covering her, her chest could easily be seen moving up and gradually coming back down as she whispered ever so silently, "Alex... harder..."

...

There was a dining room situated near the kitchen in the castle. Breakfast was already served, but neither of the members had started to their servings.

"Mom, where are those idiots?"

"I don't know. Maybe he went to enjoy in the forbidden district and is all but sleeping right now."

A teenage girl was talking with an adult lady. The lady had black eyes, with black hair and an oval-shaped face. She was taller and a tad on the right side. But all the fat were present at the right places as she had a well-developed bosom and a tight & perky bust. She was Lennie Blackflayer, the wife of the Olham city lord.

The girl had yellow eyes, blond hair with a chiseled face cut. With her thin and slanting eyebrows, she gave off an aura of arrogance. She was Zara Blackflayer, the daughter of Lennie and the city lord.

Apart from these two, a third member was sitting and listening to their conversation with a frown on his face. He white hair with shoulder-length that were tied together, forming a ponytail. With a diamond cut face and cyan colored eyes, the man gave a noble and powerful aura.

He was the Olham City Lord - Alistair Blackflayer. Quickly he turned his gaze towards his left, staring at the blank space.

It was then that a gust blew, and out of nowhere, in the blank space, heads popped out - one pink and one blond.

Taking a closer look, it was Alex and Kaitlyn that came out from thin air. Such a strange scene, but neither Alistair neither the two females seemed a wee bit surprised at the situation. It felt strangely normal - as if it was a regular occurrence.

"Morning, Father!"

Kaitlyn greeted the City Lord, and Alex was quick enough to respond the same. With a nod from the handsome man's expressionless face, both of them took seats as the breakfast had started.

Zara, the yellow-haired girl, seemed disappointed when his father did nothing but nod and tried to create a scene.

"Kaitlyn, we all know that Alex is just trash of the family, but you are different. Why don't you join an institute and develop your cultivation and become a wizard?"

Zara not only chided Alex - whom she hated for reasons unknown but also was quite jealous of Kaitlyn - her appearance, her charm, and, most of all, her talent. She wanted to get this girl out of the family and, with the help of her mother, had set up traps and ploys to take care of the girl, but alas, none of them succeeded.

So, all she wanted to do now was to hit Alex whenever and wherever possible and enjoy seeing the rage and fury reflect on Kaitlyn's face.

"Zara, how dare you."

This trick never failed to work. Knowing how deep a connection Kaitlyn shared with his brother, just badmouthing him, was more than enough to push her.

Kaitlyn stood up and began enchanting in a strange language. Moments later, a fireball appeared in her palm, which she sent flying towards Zara's face.

All this time, Alistair stared at Kaitlyn with no emotion reflected on his face, but deep down, one could see a hint of shock present in his ever serene eyes.

'Kaitlyn is improving too quickly for my plans. Need to set something up!' he thought.

Zara did not have an ounce of fear in her eyes but pity instead, as she saw her ploy paying off this time.

Seeing the light smirk on Zara's face, Alex knew deep down that this breakfast is just going to be the start of his troubles.
