Nathaniel inspected the two boys carefully. He spoke with a militaristic tone intending to be more authoritative.
"Show me your current progress." The two boys glanced at each other and nodding coming to agreement on whom goes first.
This time it was Rill. He took a deep breath and pointed a finger gun out towards a prepared target.
Inching backwards and taking careful calculations such as his current locations and speed of his power.
An invisible wave oppressed them sending them into a flurry of panic. But Rill felt nothing.
He aimed and jerked his arm backwards sending an unstoppable force towards the target.
The damage was visible as the can had a hole torn through it. It had fallen backwards as steam rose from it. Nathaniel smiled revealing to the audience Rill's true power.
"Aero Shooter. By compressing air into a streamlined shape not only will its piercing power improve but also its speed." The store owner called out to Athena to analyse his ability and rank it.
But for now it was Dale's turn. After seeing what his friend could do he had gotten a little nervous.
But the latter had encouraged him which made Dale happy. Dale then did the same breathing technique as Rill did but unlike him he had to touch the target.
Closing his eyes he gently tapped on the can. He did this multiple times before eventually opening his eyes.
Then all of a sudden the can in his hand exploded. It had ruptured from the inside out for some reason. And Nathaniel explained why.
"Micro Vibration. An ability that uses the same principles as Telekinesis. It applies pressure to an object but instead of the user pulling or pushing it towards or away from them it turns the target into a vibrating mini bomb that will expand until it bursts." Scary thing about this power was that if it reached Level 5 one could even shatter the ground and cause earthquakes on a massive scale.
But Nathaniel didn't want to freak them out in any way. After all he was still a kid if he realised the full potential of his powers he would go mad.
Mad with either power or go paranoid and believe himself to be a monster. And he doesn't really want to go down that route.
"Athena, analysis please." In mere seconds a voice called out to them in a monotonous voice whilst purring softly in each breath.
"Micro Vibration has improved significantly and it's destructive powers are soon to emerge. Please change tests accordingly. As for Aero Shooter it has grown considerably and has already passed the threshold. Congratulations Rill you are now a Level 2!"
At the mere mention of this the entire room lit up. Everyone knew what this meant, they were closer to achieving enough strength for their purposes.
Revenge, but for now they needed to have fun! "Tell me is there anything you would like as a gift?" Handing over a cup of non alcoholic beverage he asked with a serious tone.
This made Rill feel slightly awkward but he did his best to calm himself down. "I have a little brother and sister you see, they can't protect themselves so it wondering if they can come stay with me."
Contrary to his expectations Nathaniel approved of this having Athena along with Walter to gather them.
"Ah that's right I need to check up on the guests I bought with me. Beltram, Lydia, Rude please teach the kids how to use their powers for now." The store owner had recalled that he now had four more employees.
Well actually two more, but an unborn child and an adopted son counted as employees to him.
It may seem heartless but even he knew the prospects of helping them. Not only will he gain two more loyal employees he would also gain knowledge on how it feels to be a parent.
Since in his past life he died before his child was born. According to the wish they want him to live a good life and when the time is right they'll reunite.
But for now he'll have to train himself. "Spatial Magic: Spatial Flash." In an instant he was gone and appeared in a brightly lit room that was lavishly furnished.
On the bed sat a boy playing with a drum on his lap. He made a consistent rhythm which caused the surroundings to have its temperature fluctuate.
His hair grew a little longer becoming tinged with an orange highlight, blood streamed down from his mouth as the Celsius symbol appeared vividly in his eyes.
As soon as Nathaniel came in he stopped. Gradually letting the temperature revert back to normal.
"Welcome back, father."
.....
In the black expanse a wisp appeared from the void and formed a humanoid wearing light grey robes.
It's entire body was monochromatic emboldened by the greys and black. "Who am I?" It called out.
A tall man in a bespoke suit came before it and waved his hand. "Remember." The fig clouding her memories lifted.
She remembered who she was before exhausting her lifespan. In addition her mind was ingrained with a task.
To create more like her. Colour began to spread throughout her body and eventually she regained her former appearance, but with some minor changes.
Her radiance helped the void glow brighter. And then she was gone, disappearing into the mist going back into the real world.
Awaiting for an unfortunate human to come. "Fukodane~fukodane!"
.....
Today I must salvage the last of my dignity. For three days straight I have planned out a way for infiltration.
First I get close to one of the regular customers. Then move on to the employees, ask them for a job and pretend to be a commoner looking for money and then the rest is history after learning all their secrets.
"Just a little transformation magic would do." Then all of a sudden I fell, I felt my strength being sapped away as my vision blurred.
Right in front of me a figure appeared glitching in and out of existence. I could not see their face but I knew that they were dangerous somehow.
Falling asleep I dreamt of that figure once more calling to me. "How unfortunate. I am Parsifal and I am here to grant you magical powers! So please have a happy life."
All of a sudden I was roused from my slumber and in my hand was a strange object. It was a silver spoon with a blue teardrop shape at the bottom of the handle.
Near the bottom of the head were two white angel wings. A piece of parchment was wrapped tightly around it.
Unfolding it I found out that they were instructions on how to use the spoon. It was very simplistic too.
"Just scoop something up. That's it." So I followed the instructions scooping from the wine glass.
Then all of a sudden as it hit the cup the glass softened, melting into a sticky substance. "Eh?"
