Chereads / Faust / Chapter 18 - Inspiration: Part 2

Chapter 18 - Inspiration: Part 2

A girl ran through the forest with her hair wildly flowing behind her. A man chased after her swinging an axe to decimate all the obstacles in front of him.

The girl shrieked at this wishing that she could go faster. But it was too late, the man had caught up to her and grabbed her by the hair pulling roughly on it.

"You ain't goin' anywhere little missy." His dialect was rough and seemed to be a local around the region.

"Let me go, you stank breathing bastards!" The girl was equally ferocious and had a vulgar mouth.

I stared down from the hill amused by the circumstances. "A slave trader?" Judging by the current situation, it seems that bandits occasionally occupy this land for their heinous crimes.

Well technically slavery is still a legal thing no matter what world it is but still I find it a disgusting act.

But even then this is a good opportunity. I can use this chance to find more misfortunate people and grant them the choice to either die or become something else.

That's right I was going to put together both King and the Incubators plans together.

Gathering misfortune energy through sticks and granting wishes to allow emotional energy to be unleashed into the universe.

Allowing all of us to live longer! I may seem evil but I'm actually not since with the implementation of both systems allow the human part of the Magical Girl to still exist!

After the death of a Magical Girl they would either turn into a Witch or an Admin however they will turn into Witches which is an indefinite thing but in actuality the Witches born have traits that Admins have.

It's more like their memories have been erased but still contain their base personalities similar to Admins but they are monstrosities that cannot be defeated by normal humans.

Their purpose? To spread not only the power of Magical Girls but the Sticks themselves. More energy, more time for us.

It's not only an honourable way to die, you get a free and easy wish all for the price of a soul! Theirs to be exact!

It's such a great thing! Well I did do some adjustments here and there that allows me to change the forms completely.

They can either become the Special Witches that I created or become something completely different.

Artificial Spirits. I realised that the best way to get more inhabitants for the newly created realm was to use dead souls.

And not just any dead souls but magical, purified, sanctified souls that are able to evolve into something much more than a normal mid ranked spirit.

They may have lost their memories sure but its better that way. Anyways I followed them to their carriage and realised that the traders had way more people with them than I thought.

About three carriages and overall twenty men. The yet to be traded slaves were widely varied as well.

From men and women, young and old as well as other races and such. But I'm going to solely focus on only one of the carriages.

I smiled knowing it was the perfect time to use that spell. "Spatial Magic: Item Box." I called upon my Grimoire casting a spell that replicated a staple trope in fantasy worlds.

Item boxes also known as dimensional storages. Of course what I was doing was getting out the other Sticks.

But it was such a hassle to keep such a massive collection cramped in there despite its seemingly limitless space.

But still who would like to have all your stuff literally floating around in a Spatial room with no gravity?

Not me that's for sure. Rummaging through it I eventually found the Lamp Stick.

It was a typical Middle Eastern genie lamp, with fire like designs on the top and bottom parts and the Letter J Emblem in the front of the lamp.

Of course as it was a Stick there were wings sprouting from its sides. Devil wings in fact. I then waited until night to start my plans.

.....

Inside the very trailer Nathaniel was focusing on were fifteen men and women, the youngest being around seven and the oldest being thirty four.

They all wore the same ragged and worn out clothes, gathering around for comfort.

Bundling up, huddling for warmth in the cold resigning to their fates, they had lost faith in humanity itself.

Dried blood and tears were streamed across their faces, bruises and traumas that could scar them for life riddled their bodies.

None of them slept as they were all suffering from intense pain and insomnia, fearing for what's to come.

The doors opened and they all heard the shouting of their captors. A wounded girl that a burly man had carried by the hair was thrown in roughly.

The doors were slammed once more and everything went still. The girl straightened feeling dejected.

And so were all the others, they pitied her who was so close to escaping. But they were too weak as their condition has completely deteriorated from the collective injuries.

Their hope was diminished and felt like that they had been forsaken by the gods themselves.

Then all of a sudden mist started to fog the trailer covering them in a shroud of darkness.

A voice called out to them, a strange magnetic force compelling them to walk into the dark mist.

"What do you wish for? Wealth? Love? Power? Or revenge?" An eerie whisper clouded their minds causing them to all stand up in surprise.

A man stood and waded in the mist slowly entering the massive condensation of black fog.

...

Standing before me was a rough looking man approximately around his mid 20s.

He seemed to be well built and still had a fair amount of his muscles which meant that he was captured recently since almost all the men here were malnourished except for a select few.

One of which was him. Standing in the shadows I asked him this, "What do you wish for?" He made a grim face and responded in a stern tone.

"Who are you? What do you want?" As expected he was wary of me as with everyone else but I was still obliged to answer.

After all I was a genie. "I am an Emissary of Magic. You may call me Zero. As for what I want, I want to grant your wishes of course!"

No response but their wariness was heightened. It really isn't easy to calm these guys down.

But despite all that they were definitely the perfect people for my plans. Holding up one finger I spoke aloud enough for everyone in the trailer to hear.

"One wish. I can grant you any wish but just one for each of you." There was still some reluctance towards my words but man agreed and spoke of his wish.

"I wish to destroy the slave traders." Smirking I shrouded myself in more mist as I neared him.

Stretching out my arms I pushed him slightly with my palm and gently pulled out something from him.

A blinding light shone forth as a golden yellow Soul Gem appeared. Clicking my fingers I had the lamp appear beside me and got out a Stick.

The conductor's baton with the infinity symbol. [♾]. With the gem on my left and the baton on my right hand I bought them together and forcefully fused them.

Now whenever the man transformed the baton will be there with him along with a weapon of course.

He can however take the baton out of the gem anytime depending on what he wants to do.

After seeing this the wishes kept on flooding and I was able to get most of them to sign a contract.

And then there were five. The girl that I had followed had a wish to be free from the men but she also wanted revenge.

One boy wished to die and escape from misery. A woman in her thirties wanted me to take care of her son who was seven.

The last two were a couple with a baby. They wanted revenge as well but could not risk harming the baby.

Since the baby was about to be born I had whisked them away back to my shop for Athena to care for.

The woman with the seven year old child had her wished fulfilled and now I have an adopted son for the time being.

The woman now had a Stick that I had painstakingly created from my imagination.

The vacuum cleaner. Since I had no idea what its Emblem was I had to improvise. I placed an oval shape to it.

It's powers? Creating black holes. For the boy with suicidal tendencies I had given him the sports cap that can allow the user to breathe anywhere.

And last but not least the girl I followed obviously obtained the pinwheel. I had left the lamp with them to give the others a fighting chance as well.

Today I shall witness carnage. With the blood staining of corrupted men staining the land I had finally found what I wanted to serve at the banquet.

Criminals. It was a perfect show of strength and the banquet was a great chance to show that I was not to be trifled with.

I laughed aloud maniacally under the clouded moon. "Let the flames of raging vengeance consume this world!"
