Chapter 30 - The Shrine of Greed

"Honestly, Hotia isn't that far away. If you plan on using the tunnels anyway."

[Chancellor Yidara]

"Yeah, we do."

[Sirisa]

"Let's hurry then."

[Temti]

"Slow down young ones. The person you are going after isn't someone you can take lightly. They've been a general in the cult for a while. It's said he's slaughtered and helped enslave the nation of Fo.Ga.Go."

[Chancellor Yidara]

"What does that have to do with us! If he's the one who killed my mother, I'll make sure he pays."

[Twilight, yelling]

"Calm down Twilight."

[Lepricus, with worry]

"No, let go of me! He will die by my hands."

[Twilight, with a fury]

"Please Calm down."

[Gixoh, placing his hand on Twilight's shoulder ]

"Don't tell me to calm down! He killed my mother."

[Twilight, shoving Gixoh's arm off him]

"Don't get us wrong, he deserves what's coming to him. But if what my mother says is correct we should take precautions."

[Obitiga]

"So you're saying it would be best for us to fight the Forsaken first then?"

[Liam]

"Yeah, that would probably be the best way for us to handle it."

[Obitiga]

"How long does it take to reach one of the temples then? Let's get it out of the way and fast."

[Twilight, trying to quell his frustration]

"Honestly, it really depends if the Shrine of Pride is located here underground, while the Shrine of Greed is above."

[Chancellor Yidara]

"Isn't above a wasteland with nothing on it?"

[Leprocus]

"It is now but it wasn't always."

[Rion]

"That's beside the point, we should head to the Shrine of Pride?"

[Twilight]

"Well, the Shrine of Pride would most likely be protected by the Cult. I want to save my father, just as much as you want to avenge your mother, but we need to be pre-paired."

[Obitiga]

"Then it's the Shrine of Greed we are going to!"

[Twilight, storming off]

"The Shrine of Greed is hidden behind a sandstorm that only disappears every so often."

[Rion]

"Well, where's the best place to go looking for sandstorms on a desert island."

[Twilight]

"Honestly you'll be surprised we don't actually get a lot of sandstorms, but typically they'd be in the Sirsa Desert. It's actually not too far from here."

[Obitiga]

"Well then let's hurry up."

[Twilight, running off]

"Wait, you don't even know where we're going..."

[Liam]

"What about your Pops?"

[Rion]

"It's fine, he's strong enough and he's with the rest of the members."

[Obitiga]

As the group began to make its way back to the top. They did their best to calm the rage that built up within Twilight. Obitiga informed us we would be heading to the heart of Sanshu, the Sirisa Desert. Making our way through the desert wasn't as easy either. Just like before we ran into creatures like the Scipola, which caused us a lot of trouble. We even had to make our way through another desert creature named Arol. With our lack of supplies, it took us more time than expected, although we're able to survive living off the different plant life of the island. They were a sweeter type of fruit, better than anything on either Ardilla or Manshu, with much more juice.

"We're almost there."

[Obitiga, heading up a sand dune]

Once we reached the top we could see in the distance a huge sandstorm.

"There's our destination."

[Obitiga, as the other catch up]

"We're supposed to get through that?"

[Liam]

"I doubt it's possible."

[Sirisa]

"Don't worry it's easy, just follow."

[Rion]

We began to make our way into the sandstorm. Luck for us having both Rion and Obitiga was helpful. Being natives to the island they were able to help teach us a skill that allowed us to pass with relative ease. Once we emerged on the other side, it was like we were on a completely different Island. There were trees, a lake, and what seemed to be grass growing on the surface.

"Wow, this place is beautiful."

[Temti]

"Yeah, there's way more plant life in this one area of the island than anywhere else. I wonder why."

[Obitiga]

"It's kinda like the temple is being greedy."

[Liam says nudging Gixoh]

"Yeah, that wasn't funny at all."

[Gixoh]

"Anyway, we've got to do this fast, be ready for anything. If this Forsaken and Shrine is anything like the other two then we could be attacked at any second."

[Twilight]

We began exploring this new area and found a path through the lake. We ran into creatures even Rion and Obitiga had never encountered before. The battle was intense and you could feel how rich the essence was in this one spot. Obitiga and Sirisa theorized that for being the reason the area seemed so full of life compared to the rest of the island. Eventually, we found the shrine, near the center of the lake. It reminded us of the castle back at Manshu, you could tell whoever the last Greed was he or she was more high class. We approached the Shrine door and it was already open. The inside of the shrine was drastically different; it was dark minus the bits of light, as we approached the corridor a figure was walking through the shadows.

"What the fuck is that?"

[Lepricus, whispers as he jumps behind a pillar]

"Okay so you saw it too then, I'm not going crazy."

[Rion, whispers as he and the others do the same]

"Saw what?"

[Sirisa]

"It looked like something just walked through the shadows. Kinda like what Iago did."

[Liam]

"Do you think it could have been him or another Cult member?"

[Sirisa]

"No, for some reason I don't get that feeling."

[Rion]

"It has to be the Forsaken then, Greed."

[Obitiga]

"Yea, they're doing something similar to the other Forsaken we've fought. Just moving back and forth within a specific location. Like Sentinels."

[Twilight]

"Does that mean we can just walk around them?"

[Gixoh]

"It might be possible but it's not that simple, the last two had high sensory abilities so it really depends."

[Temti]

"We should try anyway."

[Lepricus]

"I'll take the lead."

[Twilight, as he begins to make his way out]

The moment I took my first step this intense feeling of blood lust took over.
