"Look at this one?"
[Temti]
"Hmm, The Ruins of Dagrion...."
[Twilight]
"Why does that sound so familiar?"
[Twilight, thinking]
"We should try it."
[Temti]
"Yeah why not...hopefully it won't be like the last one though."
[Twilight]
We headed off, we weren't sure where these ruins really were. Some of the villagers told us it was near the mountains, some said it was deep in the forest, we didn't get an exact location. We were told it used to be the third small village on the island. It sounded familiar and I wondered if it could have been the one I grew up in. It would make sense, since I was never able to find that village again. We began exploring, it took us a while to find anything resembling a village. As we went deeper in the forest we ran into a few Wuves. Luckily they weren't traveling in huge packs so Temti and I were able to handle them. Eventually we came to a clearing it seemed we had finally made it to the end of the forest. It was quiet so I didn't think much of it, we began to proceed through.
[Squishing Sound]
"What was that?"
[Temti, as squishing sound continues]
"What was what?"
[Twilight]
I don't know why we didn't notice it before. Somehow we ended up in a pool of slime. Though it seemed way more than the usual amount you run into.
"I'm stuck!"
[Temti, as Twilight takes another step]
"Yeah me too."
[Twilight, now stuck]
"If I remember right I've only ever come across something as sticky once."
[Twilight, thinking]
"Uhhh...Twilight."
[Temti, pointing in fear]
I was shocked to see it, but there it was, a giant blob of a creature. Instantly I knew just how much danger Temti and I were in. I began to try and free myself, telling Temti to do the same. I knew that if the slime was anything like when I was a child we didn't want to be stuck when it reached us. We kept trying to wiggle our way out but did not make it in time. The giant slime just kept inching its way over towards us. Just as I began to get out of the sticky substance we were in, it crawled over us.
Now we were stuck within, what I could only guess was, it's stomach. Hardly able to move and unable to breath, I was unsure what to do. Looking over at Temti I could see he was beginning to fade in and out of consciousness. Then all over the sudden I began to feel this overwhelming amount of heat. It was like this slow burning sensation coming all over me. Remembering what I knew about slimes, though they are living, they are made up of mostly acid. Which meant I had to get both me and Temti out of here fast.
[Activating Skill: Haste]
With my speed boosted up, I began to make my way over to Temti. At this point I was sure that he passed out. Once I finally reached him I began to notice that pieces of his, and mine as well, began dissolving. Grabbing Temti I began to make my way towards the edge of the slime. Officially making it out I laid Temti on the ground, since he was still knocked out. I didn't have time to worry about him with the Slime still there. I fed him a potion and began the battle. It was a back and forth with it, just like when I was younger. Every swing or reach is made. I sliced away, lucky for me this slime wasn't much different so its attacks were predictable. It didn't take long but eventually it was down to just the normal size of a slime. With what was left I defeated it, it left behind this small gem and I decided to keep it. I went back to check on Temti who at this point began regaining his consciousness.
[Item Required: Mysterious Gem]
"What happened?"
[Temti, coming too]
"Don't worry, are you okay?"
[Twilight, helping Temti up]
"Yeah, I am. Just a little sticky."
[Temti, trying to remove the Jelly from his face]
We continued the journey, now that I was a little more sure about where we were. I had a better understanding of how we should move. We kept journeying, eventually coming to what was most likely the old town I grew up in. It was mostly still intact. The buildings are set up the same way, as well as the street. Though you could see just how run down it was. I entered what should have been the old item shop, it looked like someone had destroyed the place. We couldn't find anything of use so we kept searching and eventually we came across an area that looked really familiar. It reminded me of the way to my home. I began to rush my way there, taking a shortcut through a small wooded area. It was one I took as a child. Emerging on the other side, and to my amazement there it was, my childhood home. I rushed to the front door, entering to find the place almost the same way I left it. You could tell a commotion happened, I began searching around. Maybe I could find a clue on what happened to mom.
"Temti, help me search!"
[Twilight, searching frantically]
"What are you looking for?"
[Temti, making his way to the bookshelf]
"Anything, anything...like a necklace, a bracelet, anything."
[Twilight, rummaging through drawers]
Why are you looking at something like that?
[Temti, still confused looking through the bookshelf]
"I almost forgot Temti was probably too young to remember."
[Twilight, thinking as he takes a deep breath]
"It would be my mother's, you met her when you were first born. This is the house we left, we had to run from some bad people at that time. "
[Twilight]
We searched for hours and we didn't find anything. Seeing how tired Temti was I decided to call it, though I was able to at least find an old picture of me and her.
[Item Acquired: Old Picture]
We decided to exit the house from the back, a little disappointed, I was surprised at the sight outside. There were these small tiny plants all over the ground. I didn't realize they were there until now. I approached one, giving it a gentle touch and letting out this mist. Causing me to cough, I told Temti to step back. It was like a chain reaction as the rest of the plants began letting out the same mist. I started feeling woozy, I thought I was hallucinating at that point.
"Temti, is that what I think it is, over there?"
[Twilight, as he begins to sway, pointing in the distance]
"Is what?"
[Temti, looking over]
"Oh, you mean the giant version of whatever these are."
[Temti]
"Yeah, what does it look like?"
[Twilight]
"It looks like a house, it's white and has some flaps."
[Temti]
"By house what do you mean?"
[Twilight, confused beginning to fall to his knees]
"I mean it's shaped like one of the small houses in Areon Village."
[Temti]
My memory jogged as soon as I heard that, instantly I went into my bag and grabbed a small cleanser. With that I was feeling much better, I realized we must be dealing with Mushies. I told Temti, we created a plan, leaving the smaller ones and a few cleansers. Rushing my way to the Mushi, it had to be a King. As rare as running into Mushies are, they are apparently even more rare. I thought the best choice would be to try and defeat it from above hoping it would release the same mist.
[Activating Skill: Shadow Step]
With Shadow Step activated I snuck my way up the King Mush.
[Activating Skill: Body Enhance]
I could see Temti below. It looked like he was handling himself better than usual. Slashing through the smaller ones like nothing. Reaching for my daggers I began to quickly slash into the top of the King Mush. It didn't see me release any type of mist so that was a good sign.
[Plop]
After a while I realized I was almost through into the center of the It. I remember mom telling me if you can make it through the center of one you can reach its heart and defeat it.
[Plop...Plop...Plop]
Once the hole was big enough I took a pause. I didn't notice it before but I began hearing this weird sound.
[Plop..Plop]
Turning around I saw tiny Mushies spawning all around. I always wondered how the smaller ones were created, I guess I know now. Dropping myself into the hole I created I made my way to the heart of the King Mush. It looked like this weird yellow ball, around it was a bit of the same mist. So covering my face I began to hack at its heart. The mist grew, so I would need to take a few cleansers here and there. It took awhile but eventually I cut the ball in half. As soon as I did I began to sink. It was like the King Mush was dissolving.
Eventually I landed on what seemed to be the ground. Pushing my way through the gunk left and hopefully in the direction I made it out.
