Chapter 61 - Reading her lips

Adriana turned around and looked up at the ceiling. When their hands touched under the blanket, she took a deep breath in and held it.

It startled him so he turned his head to look at her in confusion.

She held it even tighter, and she intertwined their fingers together.

"Do you remember when we laid down like this after a fight?" She asked.

He smiled and also looked up at the ceiling, holding her hand with the same strength she used.

"It was the biggest fight we ever had. What was it even about?"

"I don't remember either…."

Noah raised an eyebrow, and he shook his head when he heard what she had to say next.

"You were being too overprotective and possessive, so I got mad and tried to talk you out of it, but you are so damn stubborn."

He took a few seconds to recall the event and when it came back to him he shook his head, refusing to admit that's what happened.

"No, you know a guy wanted to flirt with you, but you just ignored it while your husband was watching! That's not on me. And it wasn't just then, you had too many suitors back then."

If only their wedding was public, he wouldn't have to throw jealousy fits. It was so annoying having so many men with their eyes on HIS wife.

"You tried to punch the man! You could have just told him off, it was unnecessary to draw so much attention."

"He had his eyes on my woman."

"Whatever."

Adriana pursed her lips.

"Okay, maybe I went overboard, I'm sorry."

"I should have rejected him directly... I'm sorry."

Noah glanced at her, but he said nothing. He liked the silence. It made him forget all the pain and regret. It was only both of them and them alone.

"Now, I forgot the point I was trying to make." She chuckled and also turned to face him.

She slowly turned her entire body and got closer.

"Adriana…." He placed his hand on her cheek as if telling her not to do what she was planning to do.

Adriana placed her hand on top of his and removed it. She placed it over his shoulder and climbed on top of him.

"Are you really going to tell me to stop when you are the one who lured me in here? Isn't that unfair?" She smirked and stared straight into his eyes. She leaned in and attacked his neck like a hungry wolf.

Her body pressed against his, leaving no noticeable space between them. She absorbed the warmth of his body and continued with her seduction.

God, this was the warmth and the softness she could have received if she hadn't rejected his kiss earlier. This is what she had been lacking these years.

The happiness he gave her. The kind of happiness that makes her heart burst with emotions.

As she continued biting the skin on his neck, he placed his hand on her waist and moved her hair away from her neck. He too kissed, bit, and sucked hungrily.

"Your actions are risky, please restrain yourself for both of our sakes. It's the-" Before he could continue, she bit him hard in disapproval.

He laughed and his hand wrapped itself around the back of her head, while the other slowly undid her bathrobe knot. His fingers trembled. He was extremely nervous.

She slowly lowered her hand to the knot of his robe, sending shivers down his spine, every time her warm fingers would touch his skin. After that she aimed her lips at his neck and once again brought his arm next to his head, wanting to be the one taking the lead.

He only grinned silently and enjoyed the sweet pleasure she was giving him by sucking his neck with her fiery tongue.

He was definitely playing it cool when in reality his heart was beating way too fast. His skin slowly turned red. He was holding back, and he was stiff. He didn't know if he had the right to touch her and freely enjoy the moment with her.

"We can stop if you want to." She stopped noticing what was wrong.

No... he doesn't want to stop, but he doesn't know how to tell her that.

He looked at her lips and realized she was yet to kiss him. "Let me kiss you." He whispered.

"I want to kiss you as if it were the last one I will give you."

'Before we go back to our cold war tomorrow morning and this illusion ends.' He added in his thoughts.

She might have lost herself at the moment, but he hasn't. His fear still was overpowered him.

It wouldn't be the first nor the last time he dreams of something like this. It would feel so real, and suddenly it would all turn into fantasy.

"Please…"

"Noah...I'm tired. Let's just forget about everything, just for a few minutes." She said before their lips could meet.

He wiped the tears at the corners of her eyes before they could fall. He didn't enjoy seeing her cry….

"So am I. I want to forget it all for a while and be with you. Just promise me this is real... can you do that?"

"Is it? Even I don't know…" she smiled and before he could stop them the tears were already rolling down her cheeks.

He smiled back and pressed their foreheads together. He took a deep breath in and slowly touched her lips. As soon as he did, his heart started beating even faster.

It felt like it would burst out of his body.

He slowly sucked her upper lip and closed his eyes shut. Noah was still afraid despite his efforts but the more he kissed her soft plump lips the more his body relaxed.

Soon after he realized that this was still not enough, he briefly recalled how he could tell her emotions when they would have a passionate kiss. He wanted that right now.

He might not hear it from her mouth, but he wanted to confirm something with her lips. He wanted to have a taste of those emotions she has been locking away and hidden from him.
