Chapter 7 - Fight or flight?

The White Lotus Sage's daughter had contracted a rare illness because of her unique physique and bloodline disparity.

This was even a well-known fact in the entire White Lotus Sect.

The Sect leader outrightly proclaimed to do anything and everything for this person, who is able to miraculously cure his one and only daughter, Ella, also known by her Dao name Lotus Leaf.

But this was just a lunatic's dream.

Even the Heavenly realm White Lotus Sage was helpless when it came to curing his precious daughter's illness, how can mere sect disciples or even sect elders in lower realms even hope to achieve such a miracle?

Sighing helplessly, White Lotus tried his best to empathize with this harmless bystander standing in front of him.

But to no avail. Just one look at the weakling drove his crazy. How dare an insect-like this touch his daughter?! This is ridiculous.

"Ninth Lotus get over here. Throw this rascal in the Sect training school." White Lotus scoffed angrily. For an overprotective dad like him, this was already his limit.

A lean and tall man, with an enigmatic look and pair of glasses, appeared next to Ben.

"Greetings to senior. I will take care of this mess." He bowed, and placed his muscular hand on Ben's girly arms and immediately vanished from that area.

"Tch... Tch... You have dared to latch on to my daughter. Now, let's see how you survive in this jungle, insect." White Lotus gritted his teeth and went back to his Tailsman research.

........

"Argh.."

The view around him changed again, and Ben cringed in pain, from being held too tightly.

But he could only silently bite his lips and bear with it. Something told him that he was no longer Ben Morgan, a human being at the top of the food chain.

Rather, he was probably something akin to a lowly fish or mosquito here, whose life could end at the snap of a finger.

But this didn't mean that he was scared.

In fact, it was the complete opposite. His blood was boiling and his soul was thrumming. His entire being burnt with a thrill he had never known before.

People can teleport here?

This was a land of magic and unfathomable mysteries !!!

And on top of that the angel of his dreams...

Fuck it. Damn you, my conscience. Can you please for god's sake forget about that witch already!!!

Seeing a variety of expressions cross over the mortal's face, senior Ninth Lotus cleared his throat.

"Look here mortal. You have two options." A cold indifferent voice boomed in Ben's ears.

"Train and cultivate in the Sect school for 1 year. Even with your lowest grade trash constitution, you should be able to at least reach the Heart realm."

"You can then teleport back to the Mortal Planet Xi, or in your language Earth safely. You can then proceed with your life as if none of this ever happened."

"If you attempt to do it before then, chances are you will lose your life. So I advise against it."

"The second option is to join the White Lotus Sect as a disciple and continue to live here abiding by the sect rules and regulations."

"But remember, this is a place where the dragons and cicadas live together, so don't think for a second, that you can lead a peaceful life here."

"You have been blessed with a stroke of luck, which no one from your world will ever get. To use it or not is up to you."

Ben nodded repeatedly, with his mouth open like an idiot, intently listening to the senior's instructions.

The senior then patted Ben's shoulders and disappeared the next instant, revealing a sympathetic look as he vaporized into nothingness.

Ben still stood rooted in his spot, frozen like a statue.

What just happened? No, what the hell is happening?

"Ahhhh..." He screamed into the silent night to regain some sort of sanity.

"Who the hell dares to wake this headmaster up in the middle of my slumber?"

Another old man, dressed in a maroon night robe stepped outside, of what seemed to be a bedroom?

What is it with the bedrooms and me? Ben wondered.

"What are you doing here lad?" Headmaster Purple Lotus looked at him sternly with discerning eyes.

Hrmm? He suddenly leaned forward and pulled a small piece of paper stuck to Ben's head.

"What is this?" the headmaster pulled his glasses up and tried to read the incomprehensible hastily scribbled nonsense.

The headmaster solemnly nodded and then proceeded to look cautiously at Ben, from top to bottom.

This normal-looking mortal had the Sect leader's recommendation?

He then shrugged his shoulders and spoke, "Sleep here, lad. I will take you to the sect grounds in the morning."

Ben obediently nodded and sat in a corner of the room's patio.

There were several confusing thoughts in his head right now, but the view of that familiar night sky proudly displaying its countless shining stars and distant planets, calmed Ben's turmoiled heart and soul.

The confusion and the fear slowly faded away, as Ben's lips slowly curved upwards...

His boredom... Its finally gone huh?
