Chapter 5 - Chapter 5: The Sister

Catherine Smith's POV

"I don't think we ever met. I'm Joanna, Wyatt's sister," the stranger said in English after Wyatt was speaking in a foreign language that I don't even know what it means. I smiled at the woman in front of me.

"Nice to meet you. I'm Catherine, Mr. Jones—"

"Acquaintance," Wyatt said as Joanna was eyeing me and Wyatt. I don't know why but her gaze was unnerving me.

"Well, I see. I think I got my presumption wrong then. I thought you were his girlfriend," she said as I stiffened. Did she imagine me and Wyatt an item? I don't think my heart would skip a beat at that notion.

"We're still thinking about it and I just met her today so I might have to go a long way to be more than just an acquaintance," Wyatt said as he was gritting his teeth at his sister. Joanna smirked.

"Of course, brother. Whatever you say. But let me give you one advice if you ever end up with my brother," Joanna said as Wyatt was growling at her.

"Be sure to keep," she said before she moved out of our presence as Wyatt was tensed up. I turned to look at him before we moved out of the restaurant and walked on the pavement. I can still sense that Wyatt was tensing up and I don't even know what should I do. So I just did what I would do with a child that was having a bad mood.

I was caressing his arm with my hands.

I thought it would help with his bad mood. He tensed up for a while before he relaxed as we were walking out of the restaurant into the direction of the daycare. I looked up to him and he was staring at me. I blushed.

"Staring at people is considered rude you know," I said as I was still caressing his arm. I can sense that he was still looking before he turned to another way.

"I'm sorry about my sister. She was peculiar in social interaction," he said as I was looking at the pedestrians that were walking on the pavement. I sighed as I was listening to the busy street of people.

"I don't mind. She reminds me of home," I said as Wyatt turned to look at me.

"What do you mean?" He asked as I turned to look into his sea-green orbs that were gleaming in the sunlight.

"She reminds me of my home. I have a brother and he was more difficult than her," I said as I was chuckling at the mention of my brother. I wonder what he was doing right now. I heard Wyatt chuckled beside me as I turned to look at me when he was staring ahead.

"And please, Catherine, I think we pass that time where we were formal with each other. You can call me Wyatt and not Mr. Jones. I felt like I was old and that was for my father, not me," he said as I was blinking at him before we stopped from our walk.

"Well, here we are," he said as he was gesturing to the daycare that I worked at. I blinked a few times before I was putting some distance between us.

"Right. I think this is it," I said as I was smoothing my hands on my sundress. I was smiling at him before he was reaching out and caressed my cheek.

"Will you see me again? I think I might want to spend some time with you," Wyatt said as he was caressing my cheek. I leaned into his touch as I was looking into his eyes.

"Please say yes," he whispered as his face was leaning closer toward mine. I was holding my breath as I was looking at his lips before I turned to look at his eyes. He was doing the same, looking at my lips before he was staring into my eyes.

"Yes," I said huskily. I don't even know how my voice was beginning to be velvety and sultry like that. Wyatt smirked before he was leaning closer.

"And that is why, you're my savior, Catherine," he said as he kissed me.

I don't know what to say but this kiss was something else as I can sense that electric was pulsing my veins.

I was gripping his nape as I was wounding my hands around his neck. I was pulling him closer as Wyatt was wrapping his arm around my waist and holding my nape to stay me put. I was sighing before another emotion was settling inside me. Then, he broke the kiss.

"We need to stop. I think we were making an audience right now," he whispered before I turned to look at the daycare. My co-worker, Jonathan, and Lilly were smirking before they ushered the children to stay away from the window.

I was burying my face in Wyatt's chest before I was smiling. I felt my blush was on my face as I was trying to control my breathing.

"Now I know why they wanted to kiss in private," I mumbled before he chuckled.

"I see you on the morrow then, my savior," Wyatt said before he perked my lips and went away. I was still breathless from our kiss and that was just a closed-mouth kiss. I wonder what happened when Wyatt used his tongue onto my mouth.

My hands flew to my cheeks as I felt the burning of my blush. Smiling like an idiot, I went into the daycare as Jonathan and Lilly were waiting for me, of course, want to know the juicy details.

"So, tell us where you meet that hunk of a man," Lilly asked me before Jonathan was asking something else.

"How can you landed a nice hunk man when you're just here for a few days and Lilly has been here forever," Jonathan said as Lilly pinched him. He shrieked before I was shaking my head.

"I will tell you later. And besides, he might just pass me as a sport for his collection," I said as I put on my apron and I was sighing. They arched their eyebrows at me.

"What? I can't help it if I was being cautious. Remember what I told you before I came to Cyprus," I said as I was looking at them. They rolled their eyes.

"Yes, you were trying to find a way around the arranged marriage to the guy that you don't know," they said before I was smiling. I ushered them to get to work as I was staring at the window.

Maybe Wyatt my answer to my prayer after all.

Wyatt Jones' POV

"So, are you sure you don't want to tell her your real identity?" Mr. Smith asked me as I was smiling at him where I was video calling him on my laptop. I was sipping on my tea in my study room as I have a house in the capital city.

"I can assure you, Mr. Smith, if she knows, she will run away again and that time I don't know where I can find my fiancée anymore," I said as I was looking at my future father-in-law. He sighed.

"If you say so, I hope that you will convince her that being married to you will not be a bad idea after all," he said as I was nodding at him. I was rubbing my mouth before I was leaning toward the laptop.

"If I may be blunt, sir?" I asked before he nodded at me.

"I was thinking that maybe it will be in our best interest for Catherine to marry here. If she agrees that is," I said as I was looking at Mr. Smith. I know the idea was too tempting for him to reject right now.

"Deal, but you have to promise me that you will cherish and do right by her. See her as your equal, Jones," he warned me as I smiled.

"I cannot imagine her being other than that myself, Mr. Smith," I said as he nodded and I excused myself. It's time for me to see my fiancée.
