Chapter 10 - Chapter 10: The Visitor

Catherine Smith's POV

I slid out of him and that action made him groaned. I was putting some distance from him as I was holding my hands in front of my breasts and my private part when I looked at Wyatt Jones.

Wyatt Jones.

The business partner of my parents' company and the heir of the shipping company that he got from his parents when they died a few years back. I came to the funeral that was held in the US. Not in Cyprus.

So why was he here?

"Why are you trying to prove that we're compatible?" I demanded from him as he was lying there on the ground. His cock was still on high display before he sighed.

'I guess we better tell her,' a voice was coming in my mind.

'No,' Wyatt's voice was filling the air. I don't know where it came from.

'I have to tell her the truth but not the entire truth,' Wyatt continued.

'But, she's ours and we demand her to know about us and the truth that we're a shifter, she has the right to know!' The voice attacked Wyatt before I turned to look at his face as he was closing his eyes.

"What's a shifter?" I asked before Wyatt was scrambling from the floor and I was looking at him as Wyatt was taking in of my naked state, well most of them as I was still covering my dignity with my hands.

"How do you know that word?" Wyatt asked and then that voice sounded again.

'She knew. Ours. She will be ours, forever,' it stated before I was shaking my head.

"Stop, be quiet. I don't want to hear it," I said as I was closing my ears with my hands as I was shaking it off from my head.

"Hey, what's wrong?" Wyatt asked me when he was standing in his nakedness when I was looking into his eyes. I can sense that my tears were on the brim of my eyes.

"Make it stop. Please, I don't want to hear it anymore," I said as I was shaking my head when Wyatt was holding my face in his hands.

"Tell me, Catherine. What is it that you hear and I will try my best to help you to make it stop," he said as I was crying now.

"The voice. They are in here," I said as I was showing my head. Wyatt was taken back.

'Can you hear this?' He asked in my mind as I was looking at him. I nodded.

"Jesus!" He exclaimed before he was rubbing his mouth.

'Yes, you cannot deny it. Catherine, you are ours. You and Wyatt belong together,' it stated before I was looking at Wyatt. He was staring at me.

"Build a wall," he instructed.

"What?" I asked him as I was taken back by his command.

"Imagine that you were building a wall and you will not hear this voice anymore. And you need to keep it up until then," he said as I was building a wall in my mind. I closed my eyes as I was imagining the wall. The voice was gone and when I opened my eyes, Wyatt was wearing his attire back together.

"Where are you going?" I asked him as he was raking his fingers through his silken hair. I wanted to run my finger through it.

"It seems that I know you don't want to be my wife. Do not worry, I will tell your father that the marriage is off," he said as he was moving across the bedroom and I was standing to watch him leave. He stopped before he glanced at me over his shoulder.

"I hope you find your happiness, Catherine," he said as he went out of my life forever and I felt something was being ripped apart from me.

A few days after the incident, I did not see or talk or listen to Wyatt's voice at all. I keep my mind with my invisible wall because I don't know if I can manage myself if I ever heard his voice again.

"Well, someone's grumpy," Lilly stated as I was looking after the cup of coffee that I was still looking at without sipping on it. I sighed.

"I don't know. Do you think I am making a mistake here?" I asked her as she was sipping on her coffee. I was looking at the parents that came over to pick up their children and Jonathan's turn to watch them.

"Well, I can't say but consider that you were landing a shipping mogul, maybe you are," Lilly said as I rolled my eyes at her. She only looked after the big pocket that I felt sorry for Jonathan. He was in love with Lilly but she was too dense to see it.

Or was I too dense to see that I love Wyatt Jones?

After he left. I don't see Winky around the house anymore. I don't know if he was the reason that she's disappeared. I looked up the word 'Shifter' after he left and according to legend, Cyprus was the island where the Moon Goddess was giving her last creation before she disappeared from the realm.

It has many shapes and formed and they can change into animals. It was not uncommon when I, as a mortal woman, loved to read about paranormal love between two species.

Especially if one can shift.

I sighed as I, finally, sipped on the coffee and I was happy to know that I finally managed to get my data on the shifter. I wanted to ask Lilly but I don't think that would be wise.

"So, do you think shifter exists?" I said bluntly before I can stop myself. Sometimes, I wanted to shove my mouth into hot sauce and never take it out. Why I have to be so bluntly speaking?

"Hmm, that's unusual. Especially it was coming from a foreigner like you," Lilly said as she was turning to look at me. I was looking into her eyes. She had a very unusual shade for her eyes. It was bright orange if I looked too closely. Not that I would be surprising since Wyatt's were sea-green.

"What do you mean?" I asked her before she looked at Jonathan and her smile flattered. She sighed before she was rubbing my shoulder as she was giving some support. And that was the weirdest thing that she ever did. She was never close to me or Jonathan. So what changed?

"Don't let your emotions get the best of me. You will regret it, trust me," Lilly said before she took her coffee and another mug for Jonathan or maybe it was her coffee that he was drinking.

Oh my God!

I blinked before I went out of the kitchen and took my leave from the daycare and went home. Since Winky was not here anymore, I felt kind of lonely. Like how Wyatt went out of my life and I think I was making the biggest mistake of my life.

When I unlocked the door, I shrieked when I saw a cat inside my house. Granted, it was not Winky but who was it then? How did it get inside? I need to change my address. Then something happened in front of me as the cat started to shift and it was changing form. It was a female's body before a very naked Joanna was standing in front of me.

"Took some time for you to show up," she chided before I was looking at the ceiling. I cannot hold a conversation if the other was naked like the day they were born. I heard she smirked.

"I see. You look at my brother's naked body and took his innocence. Then you refuse his mating bond and you were trying being nice. Such a hypocrite," she spat before I turned to look at her. My anger was seething.

"Do not talk to me as if you know me!" I barked. She rolled her eyes.

"Yeah right. And let my brother died? Because of your stubbornness. Tell me, have you ever sacrifice something great that you will do it over again even you will die in the process?" She asked me as I was thinking about the things that I sacrifice. I think I did when I came to Cyprus and I was giving my virtue to my intended fiancé who I did not know at the time.

"Of course you don't. Did you know that once you took my brother's virtue, you will have to accept his mate bond or face the consequence?" She asked me as I was blinking at Joanna.

"Consequences?" I asked her.

"Yes, he will be executed and not even my parents, the king, and queen can prevent it," Joanna shouted before blood drained from my face.

"What! Executed? When? Where?" I asked as I was shaking her. She rolled her eyes as she was glaring at me.

"Wyatt told me that he did not want you to worry over him. He was a dumbass. You need to know so that his death will be on your conscious," she spatted before I felt my tears were streaming my cheeks.

"Take me to him," I said but Joanna was scoffing at me. I gripped her arms that made her turned sharply at me before I said in the voice that I don't even know I possessed.

"Take me there or I will cut your throat this instant," I growled before she was smirking at me.

"Told him you're the best candidate for him," she said before we were rushing out of the apartment to stop Wyatt's execution.

I only hoped that we were there on time.

Wyatt Jones' POV

I don't know why I cannot even persuade Catherine to accept me as her mate. She was far too smart to know that I was not who I was. She even heard our conversation in our minds.

'Should have run,'

'Should have taken her with us,' my cat purred but I let it down.

I will be burned and I accepted that fate because I can never fully live if I was to mate with someone else. There was only one mate and that was Catherine for me. I missed her.

It has been a few days but I felt like years. I sighed as I was kneeling in front of the guillotine to be executed in front of my uncle and aunt. I don't think I will be such humiliation to them.

"Wait, stop!" Joanna's voice was booming in the forest as I was looking down on her with someone's trailing behind her. Is that who I think she is?

"Stop. If you kill the prince, you kill his mate, Miss Catherine Smith. She has come to accept the mating bond," Joanna said as she shoved Catherine in front of her. She was urging her to say that she accepted it.

"I…I…" Catherine stammered before my uncle rose.

"Joanna, what is the meaning of this!" He barked before Joanna rolled her eyes at her father.

"This is Wyatt's mate. And she is ready to accept Wyatt without any restriction or what so ever," she said before uncle looked at Catherine. I can see that she was gulping before she straightened her back.

"That is true and with this, I accept his bond and all that he is," she exclaimed before I felt something inside me and my true power rose inside me before I was out of my binding. I leaped forward to take Catherine in my arms. She was looking at me with all the strength that she had but she did not cower at all.

"Mine," I growled and my cat purred at me which was now a full-grown cat. I wonder who I was.

"Yours," she whispered before I was striding out of the woods into the only direction that I know. Her apartment.
