Chapter 1 - Who are you?

"Oh my lord, are you okay?" a voice screamed out, while the many thuds of people rushing closer became increasingly loud.

'Ugh, my head." Alan thought to himself as he rolled onto his side while grasping his head. Slowly opening his eyes a ring of people surrounded him, none in which he recognized. "Who are you, kid?" Alan asked while looking at a kid, in rough, worn looking clothes, who seemed more worried then the others.

"Who am i? Im your brother, Steven, and im older then you are!" Steven exclaimed, slightly worried about his brother.

"What?" Alan paused 'I don't have a brother, and im certain I am atleast double this kids age.' He thought to himself while hearing more commotion aproaching him. The ring of onlookers that started as just children that slowly grew to adult parted to let what seemed, to Alan at the time, a giant of a man.

"Son, Son, can you hear me?" the man asked while checking Alan for injurys, finding only a large gash on his head from where he fell.

"Son?," Alan said confused, "My parents are dead."

"Son, you hit your head, your just dazed we need to get you home."

While the giant gathered Alan off the ground he has no strength to try and fight, He noticed that the surrounding area wasnt right. He couldn't remember what it should be, but He realized He wasn't suppose to be outside. Not to mention all the buildings were suddenly different, made out of wooden supports with plaster covered walls and some kind of stone shingles. Like a village He once saw, but could not seem to remember where. Glass windows seemed to be rare, He mainly spotted them in the front of what looked like shops.

Soon they approached a modest looking home, on a dirt path that seemed to be used as the street, with a woman running towards the giant instead of away from.

"What happened, Jack!" the woman screamed at the giant.

'so the giants name is Jack' Alan chuckled to himself vaugely remeber a fairy tail before the details of it slipped away.

"Susan, Susan calm down, he fell out of a tree and hit his head pretty good," the giant now known as Jack told the woman, "Hurry and open the door so I can get him inside, Steven run to the healer and get him to come here as fast as possible."

"Alright, dad," Steven shouted already turning to run.

'So the giant is my father, I have a brother, and I assume that woman is my mother. What the hell is going on here, and tree? I haven't climbed a tree since I was a child' Alan thought as he was laid down into a bed. With his vision still blurry the dark room didn't help him focus much, suddenly screaming in shock after looking at his body that wasn't his own.

"shh shh easy, its okay" Susan his supposed mother softly said, while holding onto his hands. "You will be fine, I promise" apparently assuming his scream was one of pain instead of shock. "Did you see any other injuries, Jack." Shifting her attention to the giant.

"Well no but I'm no Doctor and I'm definitly not a healer," the giant said holding up his hands infront of him, palms facing the woman, as if to say 'Please dont hurt me'.

After a few minutes of laying there the front door opened and a woman with brown hair in a simple yet obviously well made dress quickly walked towards the bed Alan has been lying in, followed by his aparent brother Steven and girl that too closely looked like the older woman to not be her daughter.

"Jennifer thank you so much for coming," Alans mother said.

"Of course I was on my way as soon as Sarah told me what happened, We ran into Steven only a few feet in front of the clinic," the woman named Jennifer replied, grabbing Susans hands as if to keep them from shaking.

"Quick quick let me look at the boy," holding her hand above Alans head while a green light wrapped around her hand. "He has cracked skull and bleeding from the wound on his skalp but I don't see any bleeding from his brain so that is good, bad news the trauma seems to have caused memory problems that magic can't fix. I will do all I can for his injurys since Sarah has told me it was her fault he fell from the tree, but it will cause him to pass out for a few hours."

The green light grew brighter as his vision slowly began to fade to black.
