Thick black hide, glowing green eyes, strong muscles made for breaking, long claws made for cutting, a swordlike horn to impale everything in it's way. The creature in front of Feng Hao was too strong, it had to be at least 80,000 years old.
It's thick killing intent rolled over him in waves, his knees went weak, his breathing was heavy. He knew that he could not fall, or he would never get up again. Feng Hao fought back with his own pitiful killing intent, trying to resist.
The load on his body slightly lightened and he finally got a good look at the creature. It embodied the word dragon in every way but one, it's wings. They were shriveled and did not look functional.
He hoisted Feng Long onto his back as the gears in his head began to turn, the more he thought, the calmer he became. A gentle expression fell over Feng Hao's face, a powerful energy slowly began to form in his body. The creature lifted its head into the air and let forth a guttural screech, it was about to rampage.
The screech gave Fang Hao the perfect opportunity to get a head start, so he ran. There was no way he could not go outside of the carriage towards the dragon creature, the ground was too destroyed for him to easily move. Scratch marks covered every surface, there was carriage debris everywhere, he was not going to try and navigate that while avoiding a dragon.
The other option was to run through all the carriages, that would hopefully bring him to a safer distance. Feng Hao ran, he was quick, despite having to carry Feng Long and being burdened by a powerful killing intent. Constantly training the mysterious heaven technique had greatly improved his body condition, he had also begun a very steady breathing that had great power behind it.
As Feng Hao ran, he got faster and stood taller. The killing intent that had pressed down on him before, now seemed to flow past him, as if it was nothing but wind. Feng Hao had entered the first stage of calm lotus; the seed.
He could only become as calm as he was because he had a plan, and confidence that it would work. His confidence had actually weakened the calm lotus technique. When he had first practiced the technique, he tried to remain perfectly calm, but had later discovered that other emotions would help him remain calm for longer, even at the cost of raw power.
He could escape easily with Feng Long as long as nothing went wrong. It was at that moment, from the corner of his vision, he saw a pair of yellow eyes looking at him. He slowly came to a stop and looked back.
Cute face, fluffy grey hair, beauty mark under the left eye. Feng Hao thought about just leaving Ming Ai alone, but he suddenly remembered a buried memory.
Fire covered everything, every building had turned into rubble. "Retreat!" The order was given out, if Feng Hao disobeyed, then he would be counted as a traitor and shot immediately.
He grit his teeth and turned around, the battle was lost.
As Feng Hao retreated with his battalion, he looked back at one of the burning buildings, half trapped under the rubble was the girl he would always remember as his true friend.
Her hand was stretched out towards him. He wanted to grab that hand and pull her out, but he couldn't.
A happy smile adorned her face as tears fell from her violet eyes. Even when she was abandoned by Feng Hao, she never stopped smiling. A building soon fell on her, killing her.
Feng Hao quickly returned to reality, he did not have time to think about the past. Although he did not know why those memories suddenly surfaced, Feng Hao knew he had to act now.
He ran towards Ming Ai, using his right hand to pull out the lock pick but he stopped for a moment. Feng Hao could not use his right hand, it was too badly damaged. The extreme pain also made him want to cry out. He had always been hooked up to extremely powerful painkillers, he never felt very much pain.
Feng Hao had never damaged his bones, not even in his last life so he was not sure what to do when he suddenly could not use an arm.
Thinking quickly, Feng Hao put down his brother and used his far less dexterous left hand to try and pick the lock.
Feng Hao wiggled the lock pick around for a few moments before hearing a soft click. Ming Ai stared at him, without moving, Feng Hao began to feel uncomfortable.
"Since I 'bought' you from slavery, I guess that makes me you master" Feng Hao awkwardly said. Jokes had never been his forte.
"Okay... master" Ming Ai said. Feng Hao was shocked for a moment before regaining his composure.
"That was a joke, now let's go" Feng Hao bluntly said. "Her too" Ming Ai said, glancing at the blond girl across from her.
"I can't carry two people"
"I'll carry her"
"Just don't slow me down"
Feng Hao unlocked the other girl's shackles, as soon as he heard a click, he prepared to run.
The blond girl slumped forward, Feng Hao picked her up and took a few steps towards Ming Ai who had stepped out of her shackles.
He threw the blond haired girl at her before picking up Feng Long. The two of them ran off as quickly as they could. The roaring and destruction sounds quickly came to a halt. Feng Hao knew that the dragon spirit beast had heard the loud squeaking of the rusty shackles.
Feng Hao was surprised for a moment, before calming down. Ming Ai was somehow keeping up with him, even though his body was strengthened by mysterious heaven technique and his potential was released because of the seed stage of calm lotus.
The two of them finally got out of the carriages and Feng Hao said a quick "left" treating his words like gold.
Out of the corner of his eye, Feng Hao spotted the dragon spirit beast. It snarled before gaining a strangely human smirk, showing its bloody teeth. The beast was full of confidence to catch its prey.
The creature arrogantly strut forwards, slowly going towards the escaping game duo.
Feng Hao smiled, everything was going according to plan. He could definitely kill this spirit beast.
