Hugh whipped his hand upwards and the earth listened. Albeit weak but more than I could hope to conjure, then a mass of sand encompassed Hugh, covering him like a second layer of armor. Since this wasn't a fight to the death all our weapons were dulled so penetrating that guard was definitely going to be more than a little troublesome. With a confident grin having tasted success, Hugh was met with a roar of approval from the crowed as he began his fainting march towards me. Letting out a deep sigh I tried to think of ways to end this as quick as possible. Truth be told I was fairly competent dual wielding, whatever skill I lacked in my left would hopefully counteracted by the surprise and lack of experience of my opponent. However I still had oceans separating me from the island of mastery with weapons alone let alone dual wielding them. Lost in thought I didn't notice Hugh had narrowed the distance between us to just a few feet until he unleashed a huge roar swinging his war-hammer with a lethal edge. Reflexes alone kicking in I side stepped to the left and instinctively interlocked the swords in an X formation and stabbed them downwards towards the hilt of his weapons, aiding in its descent until finally, slamming into the ground they locked it into place. Hugh being unprepared for the hammer to reach that low of an angle lurched forward trying to compensate yet unknowingly playing into Kaspers hands. In one fluid motion I pulled the swords out towards my right and used the momentum to hasten spin away from him bringing the swords together to bring the two parallel lines in a merciless arc. Panicking Hugh tried to lean lean backwards trying to avoid the blades hoping they'd miss his vital spots. Having over extended in an attempt to compensate, he stumbled for a moment. However, that's all the time I needed. My true target was never his upper body or face, being the obvious targets I banked on the fact Hugh made the earth armor there the strongest. So as he stumbled I finished my spin, wrapping back towards him seeing the opening up of my true target, the back of his legs. Bringing the swords down screaming into their targets, I felt their keen bite. Just as suspected, he had neglected the armor in this spot. Losing control from the pain, his earth armor once more returned to the sand and he was forced to his knees. Howling from the pain Hugh tried one last massive swing from his right fist. Being off his feet and falling though it lacked any of his former power. In that moment Kasper couldn't help feeling some deja vu from his first bout against Mango where he had done something similar against me. Effortlessly I dodged the swing and jumping and combining momentum with pure strength I brought the pommels of both sword down onto Hugh's head and instantly the howls subsided as the force knocked Hugh deep into the Earth as the coarse sand around them flew as high as a man from the impact. What seemed like an eternity to Kasper had in fact been less than thirty seconds to the rest of those watching. The crowd was stunned into deep silence, an unknown user with questionable potential had not only easily thwarted a massive opponent who had some magic affinity already. But he had shown the disparity of the weapon skills between the two and no one had expected it to be that massive. The balding man couldn't hold it in anymore, standing up beaming with a smile he began a thunderous applause and as if a barrier shattered, the rest of the crowd joined in enthusiastically. Soon the cheers accompanied them and hysterically the crowd was ablaze with emotion, they chanted "Kasper, Kasper, Kasper!" Medics rushed over to take Hugh away, he seemed mostly unharmed minus the slight wounds on the back of his legs and probably a concussion of sorts from the damning blow. Still, a user with capability for magic known for defensive prowess had been knocked unconscious in just one blow to the head. The true experts in the crowd shuttered with realization as to what that meant about his opponent and they gazed upon Kasper some with awe, some with fear that hadn't felt in years. Shakily trying to catch his, bathed in the oceans of excitement pouring in from the crowd, it was all I could do to wave once to them before handing my borrowed weapon back. Then, picking up my unused shield I headed towards the exit shadowed by the warm, verbal embraces of the crowd. I couldn't help but let out a gushing smile at the realization of what this moment meant and the embarrassment that followed. I couldn't see it at the time but there was no smile that beat Mango's though. Hidden deep in the crowd his smile seemed bigger than life itself as he watched Kasper head out of the arena. On pure instinct alone Kasper has just demanded the attention from the entire audience for his presence as he suddenly called out "I am here!" His potential was an unexplored ocean and he had finally just set foot into the water. Mango couldn't wait to see what came next.
