She spoke to Meili for a long time right there, sitting in front of Luwei, so that she did not need to repeat herself. Luwei shook his head when he heard Jinjing's side of the conversation. He thought to himself, 'I guess the nick name suits her well, 'Ms. head over heels''.
Jinjing hung up and looked at Luwei, who was trying his best to pretend that he had not heard a word of her conversation. Even though, he had his head buried in the file, he could feel Jinjing's constant gaze on him. Not being able to bear it anymore, he slammed the file shut on the table and looked up at Jinjing, who was currently grinning and continuously raising her eyebrows.
'that look! I know that look very well. She is going to ask for a favor.' Luwei knew her too well.
Just as he thought, Jinjing stood up from her seat and walked up to Luwei and stood behind his chair. She started massaging his shoulders.
'Ah! Ah! This is amazing. Whatever it is, I am going to take time to agree to it. I needed this massage.' Luwei thought while enjoying the amazing massage Jinjing was giving him.
Her euphonious voice rung close to his ears, which startled him out of his plans. She almost whispered, "Luwei my bestie, you are so amazing. You have always supported me and helped me…."
"come to the point Jinnie…." He interjected.
Not giving up on the flattering, Jinjing continued, "like always I know you will help me out once again." She slowly put her request forward. "can I leave a week before?" she finally bit the bullet and stood there with one of eye narrowed, waiting for his reply, to be precise a 'no not at all'.
"NO NOT AT ALL!" and she was absolutely right.
The hands that had stopped massaging, resumed the activity once again, giving it another try.
Luwei was just troubling her. When Jinjing was talking to Meili and looking at him, he knew what would come up after the call. He just wanted to tease her and play the role of her bestie to a T. She was going to leave his side to be with Liang; his frenemy, he had to make her work a little hard for it.
Jinjing once again requested him. He once again rejected her. When she was going to submit another plea, the door to the office flung open and Sam trotted her way in, with a big question mark on her face.
Seeing that her savior had arrived, Jinjing instantly left Luwei's side and ran towards Sam. Luwei knew he was in trouble now.
'I shouldn't have dragged the matter for so long. I should have agreed on her second try.' Luwei admonished himself silently.
Proving true to his expectation, Jinjing pouted and started complaining to Sam, the way a little kid would, to her mother.
"Sam… hun… Luwei is troubling me. I requested to leave early and he is not allowing me. I am your Jinnie… right? You cannot see me sad… right?" like a little evil whisperer, she kept provoking Sam, and her plan worked.
A visibly upset Sam, walked towards Luwei's desk, all the while glaring at him. Without breaking the eye contact, she sat on the chair on the opposite side of the table and folded her hands on her chest. The sly Jinjing, stood behind her chair and was now massaging Sam's shoulders.
It did not take Luwei, the tiger to transform into Luwei, the scaredy cat. He promptly said, "darling that's absolute bullsh*t. Do you think YOUR Luwei could do something like this to OUR Jinnie?" Luwei did not forget to meticulously stress on the possessive pronouns.
Sam did not say anything. But Jinjing continued to add fuel to the fire. "see he is still not agreeing to let me go one week early."
Hearing her, Luwei gave a deathly stare and pursed his lips. When his sight went back to Sam, the pursed lips curved upwards into a foolish grin.
But the daggers were still flying in his directions at the speed of lightning. He nervously gulped and tried to cover his uneasy with his fake laughter.
"hahahhaa!!! When did I stop you? you can go, go…" he said, looking at his woman with sad puppy eyes. 'I need love master.' The message in them, was clear.
Gaining victory, Jinjing jumped with joy, raising her fist in the air. Sam also lost her pretense and the girls started laughing and high fiving each other. Their scheme to extract Luwie's approval had succeeded without much effort.
Annoyed at their camaraderie, Luwei pouted and kept staring at the two in fake contempt. His cute expression and their guilt from teasing him, made the girls move towards him and they hugged the seated Luwei, from either sides.
Sandwiched between his two favorite ladies, Luwei smiled and wrapped one hand around each of them. The trio group hugged.
"hold that position. Don't move." Sam instructed. She quickly positioned her phone on the table with the camera on. She started a timer and went back to her spot.

They captured their lovely moment forever. Later on, the hug was called the 'Luwei Sandwich hug'.
