Not able to handle the pressure, Mother Sheng passed out. Luckily Father Sheng had his hands over her shoulders all the time, so he was able to hold her in time from falling down. The panic grew even more and quickly the gurney was rolled in and Mrs. Sheng was taken into the other emergency room.
Mr. Sheng did not leave his wife's side even for a minute. He stood helpless outside the triage room waiting to get some news about his wife. He was torn between his wife and son, both extremely important to him.
Meili and Jinjing stood outside Liang's room peeping through the small circular glass on the door. They could see the doctor trying to resuscitate Liang sometimes manually sometimes by the defibrillator. His body would violently jerk up and lifelessly fall back on the bed. Some blood was still oozing out of his wounds, despite being cleaned before.
Meili could not take the sight anymore and retreated into Buzz's arms. Whereas, Jinjing stood there bravely, observing everything going on. She could see his handsome face. It was full of cuts and wounds, yet it was the most handsome one she had ever seen.
'nothing is going to happen to him, he will be fine. He has to be fine. This cannot be the end of us. I need him to know I love him.' She kept repeating to herself.
After a while the doctor made his way out. Jinjing, Meili and Buzz surrounded him anxiously.
"we need to rush the patient in to surgery, immediately." The doctor said in a professional tone.
Hearing the word 'surgery', Mr. Sheng rushed over and fearfully asked, "what happened to my son doctor?"
Gesturing the nurse to get the necessary papers, the doctor fleetingly explained, "his heart keeps on arresting, there is no major head trauma but he is bleeding in his abdomen. Since the time he was brought in, he has already arrested three times. Hence we have to rush him into surgery before it happens again."
Taking the papers from the nurse and handing it to Mr. Sheng, he said "the nurse will guide you through the paper work, I have to prepare for the surgery." and left swiftly.
The nurse got all the required documents signed and showed them the way to the operation theatre.
"I will stay with your mother her. You stay with Liang. Keep me informed." Father Sheng held Meili's hand and said while giving her some strength.
Wiping her tears with the back of her hands, Meili tried her best to sound brave "mom and bro, both will be fine. We need to stay strong. Let me know when mom wakes up." Mr. Sheng nodded in reply.
Mother Sheng was administered proper treatment and was now fine, even though still unconscious. Mr. Lee stayed back with Mr. Sheng, whereas the trio headed to the floor of the OT.
Meili sat on the bench outside the OT and Jinjing and Buzz flanked her on either sides. Even though a luxuriously comfortable room was allotted for the Sheng's, currently, none of the luxuries held any value for them.
Buzz's secretary made his way to the hospital carrying some food parcels. Greeting Buzz and Meili he said, "Mr. Feng, here's the food you ordered. Do you need anything else?"
"I won't be coming to work tomorrow. Clear my schedule for the next few days and handle what cannot be postponed. You can reach me on the phone, but try to call only when you have no other choice." Buzz authoritatively instructed his secretary before letting him go.
The news of Liang's accident was stopped from being leaked, hence Buzz warned his secretary of the same as well. Liang's assistant and the Lees were the only ones apart from the Sheng family who knew about the accident.
An hour later, Mother Sheng regained consciousness but was not informed about Liang's surgery immediately. Father Sheng decided to withhold the news for as long as possible, so that her condition would not relapse.
Guess fate had something else planned. Few moments later they heard a shrill voice outside the room, which soon made its way inside.
"ohh mother!!!"
