The crashing sound caught the attention of the many people present at the banquet, including Jiaying, who had her arm hooked in Liang's but, was shamelessly eye flirting with Yang Hui.
She looked at the glass shattered near their feet and then at Liang, who was currently seething with anger. She followed his line of sight and was shocked to find her nemesis standing right there.
All the agony, all the humiliation.... she would never forget what she had to suffer because of Lee Jinjing.
Starting her revenge right then, Jiaying held tightly onto Liang's arm and leaned intimately closer, rubbing his elbow between her bosom.
'If I cannot have him, no one can.'
Jinjing noticed her attempt to spite her up, but the five tormenting years had turned her heart to stone. Seeing her still clinging on to him, she was reassured 'back then, I did the right thing by leaving'
She was only taken by surprise, when she saw him after so long. She never thought they would encounter each other in such an unplanned manner.
As for Sheng Liang, he was ablaze when he saw Luwei hold Jinjing's hand. But when he regarded her innocent face, he melted.

But suddenly, he lost track of her, when she unnoticeably left for country A. For two whole years he did know of her whereabouts and that was slowly killing him from inside.
Time and again he would have nightmares wherein, Jinjing was happy in someone else's embrace. He thought to himself 'I deserve this. I am not worthy of her. I will wait for her. If she moves on, I will not bother her'
But today, after two painful years of no news about her, when his nightmare turned into reality, he could not control himself, he could not see her with anyone else and of all, Prince Luwei. He felt a huge weight pressing on his chest.
Jinjing saw the anger he held in his eyes. She did not want to tread that path anymore of having to explain herself when not at fault.
"Luwei, let's go elsewhere." She turned and request Luwei in a hushed tone.
Luwei clearly witnessed every bit of the scene unfold before his eyes, the accusation, the hatred, the questions, everything. He did not want Jinjing to suffer even a minute more.
"Okay Jinnie..." he affectionately held onto her hand and started to walk away, just when...
"Ms. Lee seems to be doing very well. Won't you at least acknowledge your old friends?"
Said a vexed Sheng Liang.
