The way Jinjing spoke to Luwei and the manner in which he held her hand, Liang could not stand their closeness. All the love and longing that he felt a moment ago, turned into sheer jealousy once again.
His tone was dripping of jealousy, when he said "Ms. Lee seems to be doing very well. Won't you at least acknowledge your old friend?"
With her back facing him, Jinjing paused in her path listening to his sarcastic tone. She took in a deep breath, but decided not to reply. She did not want to spend even an ounce of her energy on something which was not beneficial to her.
Tugging on Luwei's hand once again, she said "let's go, we need to meet other people."
"hmmmm" Luwei simply did as she wanted. He could see, she was on the verge of breaking down. He wanted her to move away from the toxic environment as fast as possible.
As the duo left, Liang was in no mood for any further business conversations. He jerked off Jiaying's hand and discreetly followed Jinjing.
Luwei and Jinjing made their way to the garden for some fresh air. The instant she set foot in the garden, she ran towards a bench to the left corner. She covered her face with her hands and cried her heart out.
Luwei rushed to her and pulled her into his embrace, while she still held her face and continued to weep.
'shhh… don't cry Jinnie. Don't harm yourselves for that worthless bastard." Luwei consoled her just as the good friend he was.
But from where Liang could see, it all appeared very intimate. His blood boiling, he could not take the sight anymore and left the banquet enraged. He did not bother about Jiaying or anyone.
------
After achieving what she wanted, Jiaying did not bother about him either. She had found something interesting to keep herself occupied; Yang Hui.
The moment Liang chased after Jinjing, Yang Hui, caught hold of Jiaying's arm and suggestively said "let him be beautiful, don't waste your precious time on him."
'Spend it with me' was what he actually meant.
Jiaying was as sly as a vixen. She knew the power and position Yang Hui held. He was not only a second generation heir, but his family had a long list of aristocrats and high posted government officials. He was in no way lacking when compared to Liang, except for the fact that, he was a Casanova.
"So what do you suggest Mr. Yang?" she said in a seductive tone, rolling a strand of hair around her finger. she glided sensually towards him, puffing her voluptuous chest and putting on a demure act.
Taking the hint, he smirked and replied "I suggest we head somewhere more peaceful for a drink or two."
"that's indeed an attractive suggestion." 'as attractive as you'. She hooked her arm into his and the scheming duo made their way out of the banquet hall.
------
Luwei had noticed the interaction between Yang Hui and Jiaying as he waited for Jinjing outside the washroom, while she got herself together.
He was stunned to see the shady dealings taking place between the two. Even though she was not ceremoniously engaged to Liang, but in the society, she still held onto the title of his fiancée.
'were the two not together….? Is she two timing….? Liang still seem to be in love with Jinjing.' all these thoughts crept into his mind but, he shook them out thinking that it was none of his business. The only thing he was worried about was Jinjing's happiness and well-being.
