Chapter 14: Oddities and the history

These Oddities are the reflection of the Celestial Order, the symbol of power and domain over various mystical forces that incased the whole cosmos.

Each one of these Celestial Orders is unique and follows a certain rule.

He then knew that these Oddities are the most special powers for they work mysteriously. No one knew who made them nor established their early forms. They don't even have a tangible form. It is more like a concept.

They all lived and generations passed without knowing the real purpose of these Oddities in these cosmos.

However, there was a legend since time immemorial. That these Oddities were made by the True One. An omnipotent and omniscient powerhouse that walks in this boundless space from the beginning of life.

From then on, hundreds of Celestial Orders reigned upon these lands.

However, to this day, the origin is still debatable.

These powers are present in nature but no one controlled them the way they wanted them to be. They can use fire to lighten their darkness and cook their food. They can use the earth to make their houses and equipment. They can use water to wash their clothes and quench their thirst.

All creatures used these powers to make their own lives better and made the sprouting civilizations face massive growth.

From the barbaric way of having stones as their main source of furniture and weapon, these creatures used the unique individual powers of nature to create various means to build a better life.

But at one point in time, a creature wielded these powers as his own instead of borrowing them from nature. From then on, rapid evolution has begun.

His name is Han, a creature, with dragon-like scales, born from a fiery star that is forever devastated by fire geysers. His entire clan, which lives upon hunting, slowly diminished in front of this deadly calamity.

Han is the best hunter in their clan. He knows where and how to prevent being burned alive. But no matter how best one is when accidents happen, they do happen.

There was a period of the year when their supplies of food are fast diminishing. During this period, the planet is notoriously active in spewing fire geysers.

Some tried to gather food but failed and when hunters died, the brought food is not enough for their population in the community.

Seeing his tiny boy, twirling around guarding his stomach due to hunger, pains Hans a lot. For his love, he brought his stone knife and wooden bow and trodden the dangerous planet.

Fortunately, he was able to set a score with a meaty deer creature with stony skin. This is quite dry with no flavor and it has a strong taste of burned charcoal, but still, it is a food. He can already see the smile on his son. How happy and proud he will be to be eating meat during those times of difficulty.

He was walking by the edge of a mountain. His experience taught him that this area is generally safe with no fire geyser activity. He was just about to turn his way to the last boulder when he was caught upon by a fire geyser. It came out of nowhere.

"How come?" His last lucid thought made him think.

The hot temperature of the geyser burned his skin and muscles and the sudden pressure threw him in the air.

Every creature consumed by fire geysers is surely dead. So Han lost all hope in being saved from his certain doom.

But when he was up in the air, while his skin and muscles are being burnt and consciousness slowly faded, he felt a very slight tremor in the center of the geyser spout. Without his countless life and death experiences and the acuteness of his perception, the possibility of feeling this fleeting presence is close to none.

The presence moved without pattern like blinking away and luckily its motion is moving relatively towards Han's direction. But, his weak arms can't possibly reach it.

When he is in good condition, yes he could. But now that his muscles are starting to get taut from the burning, he knew he couldn't.

Luckily, his yes are relatively intact and usable. Upon closer look, he saw a fiery red crystal the size of a fingernail. It is color deep red and the thought of burning came to hid mind.

"Burning, not possible," He incoherently pieced together a sentence.

Right then and then, Han knew that this crystal is his only hope in evading his death. He used all his remaining strength and with his muscles evaporating slowly due to the extreme environment, he tried to extend his arms towards that presence coming slightly to his direction.

Han used all his attention, a hundred percent, and his hidden potential.

Upon sensing that a creature has found its presence and wanted to own it, the crystal tried to return to the hole where it came from. No one knows how, but before it could blink back to the ground, a black skinless hand reached and enclosed it.

Han closed his mutilated hand tightly to prevent the uncontrollable crystal from slipping away from his grasp. He disregarded the pain he is feeling and drawn his hands near his chest to support his losing strength.

Everything happened in just a few seconds up in the air, and when the pressure of the geyser stopped, the gravity pulled Han back to the ground. His body was as big as a bear before, only had a head, torso, and hands with three fingers left after. His two legs charred black from having the direct hit.

As Han is free-falling, his heart weakened from all the disfigurement that had happened to his body. Han's body deteriorated beyond saving, loss of blood, muscles, bones, and other important tissues and organs. But as his heartbeats feebly, Han felt a gentle impulse coming from the small crystal and this impulse became louder and stronger until it beats along with Han's own heart.

"I wish…" a muttering sound was heard.

Without him knowing, the crystal was completed soaked wet of his blood. It was not possible earlier to be soaked because the fire could burn the blood before it coagulating. Now that the fire is gone, it was a success.

A warm feeling engulfed Han as nourishing energy was emitted from the small crystal. These energies nurtured his body to produce more cells as replenishment for his lost body parts. The fiery crystal slowly seeped into his body and strengthened his heart.

From the heart, more energy undulated and circulated his body, hastening the process of his recovery

Hans then found out that the magic of that crystal is capable of wielding the power of fire and that crystal itself is the amalgamation of the Celestial Order, formed by countless years within the star where they are living. Well, apart is more precise for there are a lot of planets and unique situations capable of producing one. These crystals are called celestial crystals.

More information about using the powers of fire came into Hans's mind. It is as if a library of books full of information bombarded his mind. Not with the cover but with the number of words.

Unanticipated, he couldn't stop the influx of information. He is on the verge of losing his mind in the complexity of cosmos-level information. His mind became brittle over seconds that the healing process couldn't keep up to it.

Gnashing his teeth and not coming down without trying, he thought of an answer. He tried to stop it, but couldn't. He tried thinking of other things to change the series of 'information coming into his mind but failed. He tried to pray to their gods, obviously no answer. As his last resort, he tried communication with the crystal, there it was. A response was done but barely.

He slowly started to ease the communication. The crystal is like a child throwing violent tantrums but raised by ten times. It is not cooperating well.

Han is already sweating from the continuous straining of his brain. He felt hopeless.

Then, he remembered his son. How he wished he could see him. How he wished he could laugh at his immature rambling. 'Wait.'

He tried for the last time talking to the crystal as if talking to his son. He started by knowing its name and he got nothing.

"What is a name?" the crystal seemed to say after a few seconds.

Han was speechless. He is dying for pit sake. Seeing he has no other choice, he said, "Names are mighty titles for each entity. They should be… ohm… connected to their origin. Yes, that's it."

The crystal was silent for a few more minutes. Han thought that he should something to break the train of thought of the crystal if it has any.

Before he could do that, an answer was heard, "Haco."

Then he tried coaxing it with, "What a nice name you have."

"Of course, it is a mighty name. My memory told me so," Han couldn't help but twitch a little out of annoyance. Then he said, "Could you help me a little about this influx of information?"

"Of course," the Haco replied. Han smiled a little, 'That's a relief.'

But his smile didn't last long when Haco asked him, "What is information?"

At that time, almost imperceptible, a vein ruptured somewhere around his face. But who could say? He is regenerating.

Han patiently told Haco what is information and what happened to him in a short concise manner.

"Well, seeing that you made me have consciousness earlier than what my memory said it should be and you asked my mighty name, then I will take pity you and help you in your problem, "Haco said, well, high and mighty.

And so, Han was able to survive ordeals after ordeals with the help of Haco and was able to go home with the deer creature with stony skin. Lucky for him, the crystal also pitied his nude figure and gave him a piece of cloth to cover his manhood. That made him blush.

The crystal has no sense of sex or gender. But it goes to know dignity. Upon knowing from Han that dignity must prevail, he gave him that cloth.

His wife and son were the first to welcome him and they all cried together. Looking at his son's smile, his brush with death was worth it. He told no other soul about what happened.

After that, Hans used his newfound knowledge to control the fire within the star to nourish himself, strengthening his Blood Body, and enforcing his knowledge and control of fire through his Spirit Body. It is all Haco's idea.

When he asked it where did all its knowledge came from, Haco replied that it is already in his consciousness ever since he had one. "You don't have those? Sigh. Pitiful creatures, indeed, pitiful" Another vein was inching its way to rupture but with a long deep breath, Han was able to prevent it.

'No more regeneration.'

He really wants to spank its butt a little. But he couldn't do it. Could he beat his heart where the crystal is residing? Does a crystal even have a butt, to begin with?

Going on, he also used the fire to save lives and not to let the creatures succumbed to death.

From Haco, he learned that there are five major hurdles and two minor abilities in learning what Haco said as the Celestial Order of Fire.

Haco first taught him the Light hurdle, as that is the first one. And Han taught it to his clansmen.

Haco taught him secrets that Martin couldn't see.

Yes, he saw everything like a spectator in a movie theater. He could hear their thoughts and conversations, but when Haco taught Hans the way, he surprisingly couldn't hear any word of it.

It is like a boundary is standing for him and those words.

Fast-forward. Martin then saw new things.

The creatures before who lives in harmony by borrowing the powers are now capable of unleashing such with the flick of their fingers.

In just a thousand years, advancement in terms of livelihood and living pushed powerful creatures to be able unable to satisfy their needs anymore.

Towns became cities, cities into regions, and regions transformed into kingdoms, where Kings of Order reigned.

Countless kingdoms sprung in one generation as more Blood Bodies became either Mythical Bodies or Soul Bodies.

The innocent lambs became a ferocious hyena—thirsty for more.

Having the urge to have more vast land for themselves, these powerful Mythical Creatures mobilized their entire kingdoms to set an all-out war against each other.

Death and war overwhelmed this one's peaceful cosmos in an instant. Shadow and famine became a natural sight as betrayal and scheming behind the scene pushed the war.

Once again, as history told its people, greed is always within one's heart. No one can master it, only serve it.

An extensive vision of what happened in the past flashed in Martin's mind. 'Han's…'

He is considered as the founder of utilizing the Celestial Order and his traces in the Celestial Order are vital to the evolution of creatures.
