(the 13th chapter of volume 1 will be shortly published after this, sorry but I was playing starbound and stardew valley, I had nothing to do and I had no inspiration... 13th chapter: Naoya Von Eisen and it's around 1500 words and probably increasing)
the first generation where Helios was an assistant was a time where it was almost 17th century, kingdoms made of stone and houses made of wood, magic didn't reign in before his death and there's one reason but I think all of you already know that. I'll put a *- on top of it.
knights were more used than anything and Ether/Magic was scarce, no one was able to master it due to the dangers of using it. I have always put on the timeline as H.D. or Helios' Death, since I don't really want to put a random number out there and use it, it'd be way more confusing for me, the people will take it in those terms and a little bit of trivia: I made this a long time ago, the people of Laplace considers the start of century H.D. was the time where magic has purged the lands and mana creating rifts in dimensions creating portals, hence, H.D. is treated as a new generation
after this, Sakuraba has been transported, his soul at least. the area was chaotic and since magic was now available, kingdoms have started using stone and even stronger materials to protect themselves, but in Kirin's case, he was treated as a monster, although still having the power to create, he only created one person... and a couple of hands and the new generations.
the towns have created an aesthetic overhaul and the kingdoms have used some different means of protecting themselves, the Illusions for the Flora/Druid kingdoms, a bottomless pit that forms whirlpools for the Reptilians and aqua Reptilians, and a protective barrier strong enough to withstand even the strongest of Gods for the Human kingdoms, the Corrupted kingdoms or in case for Sakuraba's timeline, only treated as a different race, the kingdom and it's subjects were scattered and they were being treated as slaves and no one bats an eye for it. Sakuraba was born from the ashes of corrupted so he's 100% one of their race, no mixtures added
the 3rd is... well still a mystery, I also don't know how I came up with her, I only know it's a she and she's kind but... we're getting off track, the kingdoms have evolved in a good way, the kingdoms of humanity have taken the otherworlders in high regard and they have been contributing to the Human Kingdom quite well, pseudo-technology has been created so the human country has taken in a more modern terms. nothing much has changed for the Flora and Reptilians except for one thing: expansion. unlike the Human Kingdoms, the two races have competed in a friendly manner on who will have the most land, this stopped quite quickly of course so they proposed to creating the largest Kingdom, Hierarchy was more in demand and their ruling was more needed than in the past.
the corrupted race was in shambles but the 3rd generation was kind enough to give it a huge leap from nothing to owning a city, pseudo-technology was much more advanced and the country has fought back against the kingdoms that have taken Corrupted slaves.
this turns into Aiha's timeline, the more modern one. Cameras were easy to build and magic that monitors areas that were previously impossible can now be used, the 3rd generation took in people smart and cunning and taught(I was sleepy and just took some words that were similar, I'm sorry for the grammar) them how to fight back properly leading to a more democratic approach and, yes this succeeds.
Like I said, this is where the timeline or in case, the Corrupted Country/Countries are more modern. tiles, glass, way of life, etc. there's still mansions at the size of a mall and a castle but it's treated more of a site for the past.
well that's all
(I wrote the trivia part but now I have the urge to play games again... seems like Naoya's story might take longer than I thought...)
*--------
Helios' death was by his first demonic creation, a being that can kill the strongest gods. Parva killed almost half of the whole population and Helios was in turn, suffer a forever binding curse and a rule to kill Parva, Mana excretes from Ether. Ether is a generating source that supports the body and creates what's known to them as magic. if the body dies, the Ether within the body stays alive and forever excretes Mana since it's no longer being suppressed by the body, if a person dies of old age, the Ether discontinues itself. the reason as to why mana surged the areas after Helios' death was because of Parva's massacre, about a billion died and that's a reason as to why magic and Mana has created Laplace.
extra trivia; Ether is much tamer since it's in control while Mana is sporadic, chaotic, it's the main reason why portals spawn and monsters began to be summoned, some were spawned by portals while others were just overdosage.
a normal monster, or in human terms, an animal that has taken way too much ether will turn into something that will kill, why monsters kill is that they have a hunger for Ether. animals weren't supposed to take on Mana since they don't have Ether. like the diamond crested curse, an animal has no means to generate mana and cannot create magic but if given mana, and an absurd amount of it, it will be more hostile and will attack and eat any body it can that has Ether inside of it. think of it as addiction
on the top, unlike the diamond crested curse, the animal can still take mana, the generation's curse has the ability to repel foreign mana and eats mana equal to the generation, Ether that has stopped production of Mana/Ether will dispel the remaining Mana it has, if a person lost all of his mana the Ether inside will stop production as if thinking it already died, Ether is needed in the body, it's like a heart that can pump other necessities.
(was I sober when I made this?)
