Chapter 15 - Three vows

Tristan thought about the first favor for a moment. Saving Destiny one time from death. He did not know who or what Destiny was, but saving or protecting someone was not beyond his values. "I agree!" He said calmly.

Suddenly the world turned dark and a divine thunder blasted through the air and hit the old man. Tristan suddenly felt like he had an instinctive connection with the Heavenly Tribulation Bolt. He somehow knew that the item now belonged to him.

The temptation merchant coughed blood. "The hell kind of object is it that you summoned that you need? Just what kind of mess have you gotten yourself into?"

The temptation merchant spat out, before shaking his head. "The favor for the second object - you must find the only living descendant of the heavenly axe emperor and help that person conquer the the past lands. Do you agree?"

Tristan considered this favor. Just like destiny, he did not know who the heavenly axe emperor's descendant was either. But while he had to protect destiny, he had to help this axe emperor's descendant rise to the throne, he might have to go against his own allies... but the second object, it was too weird. Tristan had the intuition that if he didn't accept this vow he might regret it heavily.

"I agree!" Tristan said again. The world shook again and another tribulation lightning hit the temptation merchant and charred him black. He coughed out several mouthful of blood and it felt like he had become older.

"Tribulation your mother! This deal has really pitted this grandfather this time. Kid, just what kind of a disaster are you brewing? Two items caused two divine tribulations!" Tristan again felt the Shadow Dragon's Final Clue now belonged to him. The heavenly tribulation lightnings really scared him, and the fact that the merchant was being hit by two in a row and still had the energy to curse made him in awe of the merchant, who was looking at the sky with tears in his eyes.

"The vow for the third object - You must never practice any foreign world technique, cultivation or magic to become stronger in your life! Do you agree?" When The old man spoke those words, he was himself stunned by what he said! "Nani? If he doesn't cultivate how the heck is he going to satisfy the other two vows?"

Tristan looked at the Temptation merchant. To abandon all foreign techniques meant he had to rely on evolution alone. He had to use to system to evolve to the pinnacle, he would only be able to rely on his own abilities and be unable to use other methods to grow stronger.

Tristan nodded. "I agree!" And with that another thunderous tribulation lightning hit the merchant who coughed up blood again.

"I am the grandfather of fate or fate is my uncle? Are you messing with this grandfather? Such a terrible deal. Three divine tribulations in one deal. Grandfather is going to tear up a few palaces now!" The merchant of temptation yelled in hate as he waved Tristan goodbye and without waiting for a response, he disappeared.

Tristan swiped away the three objects into his storage, but his heart was full of burdens now.

He decided to go to the auction waiting area and wait for the auction to begin. Meanwhile, the young woman who had sold the trinkets from the seventh civilization was bored. She suddenly received a phone call.

When she heard person on the phone she suddenly became pale. "I...I already sold it!" The person on the other side of the phone line was her grandfather, Liu Daobai. He was looking at the ceiling with tears in his eyes. "Kid, I kept it on the table to sell in the VIP auction, and you sold it as junk? How much did you sell it for?"

"I sold 7 items for 14,000 dollars, just one person bought it." The young woman said. Suddenly Liu Daobai appeared in front of the girl in the stall, frightening her.

"Let me see which items have been sold off." He said as he began rummaging through the items, before pausing. "The most important items have been sold off. Who is this person? Describe him to me."

"He was young, around my age, red hair and dressed in white. He looked mysterious and covered his mouth with a mask. His face was very plain. He asked me if these items were extracted from a ruin." The young girl tattled on. "Oh I think I saw him enter the auction."

Liu Daobai furrowed. "Tina, come with me to identify this man at the auction." The girl called Tina nodded.

Inside, Tristan was comfortably sitting in the VIP box number 11. There were thousands of people in the auction which surprised him and over 50 VIP boxes as well. This was a really grand scaled auction for the entire country being held in Coastal City. Tristan wasn't aware that Coastal City was such a hub for the hidden world.

The VIP box was full of luxurious seating and comfort options and a digital keypad as well as a spacial transfer to directly receive the object should they so choose. The room even had a secret exit so you could maintain full anonymity. Tristan's box was booked under the name of White Star and in the auction's seating area people were whispering about the potential items being sold and potential treasures.

Soon, the crowds had filled up the auction hall, VIPs had taken their seats and the MC for the auction had taken stage already. The auctioneer wasn't weak at all, Tristan could feel the person emanating waves of power and also that there were eyes everywhere maintaining the safety of the auction. This location was probably the safest place in the country at the moment.

The auction had been run primarily by cooperation of the Government, Vast Expanse, Martial Alliance, Mage Tower, Alchemist's Cauldron and the War Gathering among other organizations. These six organizations were known as the six major guilds.
