We all walked out to the waiting cars. I choose to ride with the extra security detail so that my mother could get reacquainted with William. I resumed my quest from the plane. After finding everything I needed and a good idea of what I wanted to wear, I switched my findings to Leo. I was in love with Ward ArchEngineering and I did not know about the recent CEO switch. I soon got frustrated because I could not find anything on it. I only found one article about Leo from three years ago when he graduated from William's school with a degree in engineering and business management. I was slightly impressed by that. Sadly my further search on him was thwarted when we arrived at my new home.
I stepped out of the car to be greeted by a modern home. It didn't have as many windows as I prefer in a modern house but it did fit the surrounding area quite well so that made up for the missing windows in my book. William and my mother stood at the front door looking at me with anticipation. I knew that they were going to be expecting me to give my opinion on the house since I am an engineer.
"It's not bad. It is lacking in windows; more like window styles, but the way it compliments the surrounding woods and hill side make up for it. Clearly the architect knows the area and knows how to not compromise the natural foliage." I say as I walk inside past them.
"Thank you." I deep rich voice said from the living room in the back of the house.
I walked back to the living room to find a sight that made my jaw drop. James and Evelyn Ward stood up as my mother and William entered the room behind me. Jessie was sitting at the kitchen island with Peter. They came over with her parents to greet mine.
"Evelyn I cannot believe that you are here! I thought that you guys had an event tonight?" my mother asked as she hugged Evelyn.
"This was it. I wanted to surprise you and put together a small welcome party for Hannah." Evelyn said as she walked over to me. "Nice to finally meet you Hannah. Your mother has told me so much about you."
"Nice to meet you too. Sorry to be rude but who said thank you when I was giving my report on the house? I'm guessing that he is the architect." I asked as I looked around.
"That would be me." the voice said again from behind me.
