Chereads / Emerald Ocean / Vol.2 Detail Reference

Vol.2 Detail Reference

This is a detailed reference page originally intended for writing purposes however I figured releasing this may help in understanding the general system of strength post volume one. Please do not read unless you have finished volume one as this is spoiler-heavy... Also heavily changed as I am going to rewrite it removing the skills and evolution path of the mc. I don't intend to spoil too much here... As the original will have every skill's full explanation and the names of all the planned evolutions that the mc will take in his new life... However, this one will just have some fun names and references to strength of creations in the universe. Please remember that all creatures in this story don't have level or evolution so whenever he inspects or hears the level of another in any way it's shown as an estimation of the other person's body's strength as opposed to the amount of energy inside the body. Body strength in this reference could be said to be durability instead in most cases as the energy can also define the physical strength. In most but mc as his current system of growth is slightly broken. No-op... often times weak. It's simply wrong as his level and body strength won't affect his skills or combat power in most cases as his physical body is quite pathetic in most of volume two. "Average human could squish him with ease in most the story."

Level = Energy inside the body in association with the current cap level as a higher amount of body strength leads to the body needing more energy to build levels.

Cap level = amount of energy the body can hold before slowly tearing apart by the seams like a slow-mo of a balloon popping. Or just the regular thing depending on how much over you got.

Minimum requirement = due to the strength of the body changing as the mc grows it will require more energy to evolve or change said body. So the minimum level is associated with evolution. This would be the cap level in all but the mc before mutation or class advancement.

Body Strength = This needed clarification in terms of the body strength I refer to as the standards of the max level doesn't necessarily mean that they are that strong but that their body itself has a set amount of tensile strength which is closer to durability than the strength commonly used. However, a lower-level person with higher tensile strength aka level cap could be equal to a higher-level person with lower tensile strength. Example Level 10/40 killing a level 20/20 with ease. Due to the fact that those ten levels required more energy to build up the ten will have more strength at his disposal while the 20/20's energy is lower than the energy required to get to the 10/40 level ten. The tensile strength of the body is also a measure of defense so it could be very difficult for the 20/20 to kill the 10/40. This sounds confusing at first but it's a pretty simple system. Not mentioned any time soon in the story but reaching cap level then continuing can lead to the lowering of defense and attack due to the straining of the tensile strength of the body. Like damaging your armor from the inside out. Or straining a muscle in your arm before throwing a punch

Evolution = the changing of the body. In the mc's case who is the only one shown to evolve in the story so far this system serves as a class like system to allow the mc to make his own class

Mutation = Lessor form of class advancement in monster communities. It's a class system for beasts that focuses on body manipulation. It's a separate system to Evolution as mutation doesn't necessarily mean a rise in strength or quality it could also mean making the person weaker.

Class = Only possessed by creatures who live in a society and have the ability to learn. After following the path of their predecessors. Evolution can be considered like paving your own way through the class system without being a part of a society.

Stage = This isn't introduced until a little while into volume two however it is the evolution of skills primarily and also will also be a part of class advancement.

Art = A collection of skills that share the same tree of usage, mostly introduced to remove over clutter of skill part of status. A similar form of collective selection may be included in later forms simply as "Soul bound" To address the skills such as regeneration light healthy etc. However, as the mc is now this is both unnecessary and in many cases requires me to make those skills individual tabs effectively removing a part of the wholeness that makes up the status page.

Talent = A passive ability of the body or constitution that doesn't necessarily grow or grows in a way that is shown elsewhere as such level is not applicable.

Tier: In the story aka volume 2 chapter 1 or chapter 42 the explanation goes into vague detail about the specifics of the shape of the world. I plan to release a depiction of it as the cover on April first when this comes out so if it's up yah me I didn't give up on drawing it. If it's not, picture it as a giant tower with steps going up it each step or shard of existence containing thousands of plains of existence and innumerable galaxies planets, and lifeforms will be a hundredth of a tier aka 0.01 as to transcend a tier completely you must climb the entire tree-like tower then break through the treetop, all 100 steps or shards. The mc is in the roots of this tree-like tower in volumes one and two, no clue when he will go up and you don't get to know yet... After tier 1? Well hopefully that's hundreds of chapters at least so who knows... I mean he's still gotta figure out his current quest... he's not even crawling yet. We can't expect him to fly.

In volume two the status page will look a bit more organized, random example with a previous status page from the previous volume in volume two style included below. "---" means I skipped it as it was too much trouble and didn't work with the example

"Unnamed Race-AGuardian

Level 13/13 exp ---/---

Stage 2 Evolution 4

Hp: ---/---

Mp:---/---

Skills: --- [Life Art] [Magic Art] ---

Talents: [Evil] [Limitless Growth]"

Hoped this helped if at any point you need it. If you skipped it and came back cause... it's still there regardless of what you do, welcome back... Hope this answered your question.

From here on is some math and stuff to further explain how these things effect body stats with figuritive attack and defense ratios please don't continue reading unless you are a very anal person who wants to over complicate this. I won't be using all this further stuff actively in the novel but it is how they work. Ok, so first the most complicated part. Please be aware that the stats included are body stats and won't necessarily effect skills of the mc.

Level: 1/30

1 = Attack

30 = Defense minus current level

Attack * (1 + 3) "cap level divide by ten adding one or it's current self as not to make the multiplier a divider in lower levels."

Level: 29/30

Attack: 29 * (1 + 3) so attack equals 116

Defense: 30

Level: 30/30 Overloaded

Attack: 30 * (1 + 3) (* 2)

Defense: 30 / 2

Level: 13/15

Stage: 1

Attack: 13 * (1 + 1.5) (* 10) - Stage in this case acts as a multiplier of 10.

Defense 15 * 10

Level 15/15 Overloaded - Just so I don't need another example...

Stage: 1

Tier: 0.01

Attack: (15 * (1 + 1.5) (* 10)) * 100 "adding 100 for every tier decimal place for a tier 1 bonus of 10,000 aka 100 a hundred times."

Defense: (15 / 2 (* 10)) * 100

Or if you just wanna be quick and dirty with it we can avoid all of that and make it entirely wrong but easier to remember.

Level: 15/15 Overloaded

Stage: 1

Tier: 0.01

Attack: 37 "Just low key guestimating the cap level multiplier" + 100 "100 for each stage" + 1000 "1000 for each 0.01 of a tier." Which equals 1137.

Attack in this scenario also represents strength I only went for attack/defense so I can represent the defensive element of the body.

If you find all of this over complicated I did say not to continue reading that's on you. Stages/tiers and the like are present to make it less complicated drilling into it just removes their purpose. If this isn't complicated enough... You have problems and I can't solve them.
