Chereads / Crow Day / Chapter 3 - Floor 28

Chapter 3 - Floor 28

Everyone was dead, or dying. The man who yelled at her was stabbed in the stomach and died from blood lost a couple minutes after. While the women had her throat slit, dying almost instantly. The last man had been stabbed on the side. He was trying to stop the bleeding with pieces of fabric torn off from his clothes.

"Please. I can't die. Help me," the man pleaded to Tessa as she walked up to him. His eyes were filled with fear. Fear of dying. Fear of death. There was no need to fear death, but she couldn't stop him from fearing it. She could show it to him though. All she needed to do was take the knife and plunge it deep inside the man pleading in front of her. Why should she save someone who was of no use to her? How could an injured person help her? It would help him to end his suffering. He won't be in pain any longer. He won't be disgracing himself by pleading to her anymore. He wouldn't fear death for he'll see there's nothing to fear.

Tessa debated her options, and then realized the cut was' life threatening if she stopped the blood flow. I should have stopped the feeding, Tessa thought. Why would I kill him? He could help her. He's an adult. He's human. He can live.

Tessa took her knife and lowered it close to his body. She watches with a spark of pleasure as he flinch back in fear. He was scared of her. Yet he pleaded for her help. She took the knife and cut along his shirt, creating strips of cloth and revealing the pale skin of his stomach. She took the pieces of clothing and wrapped it tightly around his side. He'll live. With some pain killers he'll be able to move almost as he usually would. Tessa shuddered.

A chill ran down her spine. Something was here. Something was watching her. Watching her every move. She needed to run. It wasn't something good watching her, it was evil yet somehow familiar.

"We need to go," Tessa stood, reaching her had down towards him. He grabbed it and thanked her when she pulled him to his feet. He winced at the pain in his side. She lead the way out of the room and down the hall towards the stairs. She needed to clear things up with him but first they needed to get out of the room and away from the residence.

"If you are sticking with me there's something I need to warn you of," Tessa told him, not revealing much information until she knew he was going to stay with her.

"Alright. I'm Zoul. What's your name?" he responded. He was staying with her.

"Tessa. Now, first off, I'm looking for information on what'

S going on. If you know anything or learn anything, tell me. Everytimeyou give me useful information i will tell you something that I know.. Also i'm not a little kid, so don't treat me like one." While Tessa looked to be 12 she was really 15, almost 16.

"The only thing I know is, you'll get killed if you go outside. We're trapped here. And this monster killing the people going outside is also driving people insane. You felt it too. In the room. It was there watching us," So he realized it. That's why he didn't ask why we had to leave.

"You felt it to, huh. That's useful information then. The only thing i know that you don't is that the monster has crow like feathers. It probably looks like how Mary described, a humanoid crow. What we need to figure out is how to get out of here and who is controlling all of this."

"I will help you. I want to live through this. I still need to finish school," he smirked at the surprised look on her face. "You're not the only one who doesn't look their age. I'm 17. Now let's go down to the next floor."
