Zoul watched as Tessa stood and headed for the door. She didn't tell him anything. Why? Does she not trust him? Who would trust someone they just meant anyways. Even Zoul didn't mention what he thought the chief said as he left. He thought he just imagined it, but he swore he heard him say, "enjoy your last meal." He should of told her but he didn't know how to bring it up or if she would believe him. She might even laughed at him for imaging such things.
He decided he should eat his food before it got cd. He dipped his spoon into the bowl full of stew. The stew was a muddy red color that look displeasing. Bring the spn to his mouth, he ate the stew. It taste like a normal chicken stew but it was somehow different but a good different.
The meat was the perfect texture and tasted just like chicken but was it more salty? Was it the texture? What made it so different? Zoul couldn't place the bad feeling he had but the stew was pretty good, so he went for another bite.
This time when he bite down he tasted something strange. Pulling something that wasn't chewable out of his mouth he saw it was a piece of cloth. Turning it around he found that something was written on it. He whipped the stew and spit from his mouth off the cloth to read what it said. Stitch in blue string was written in cursive the name Robert.
Realization hit him like a truck. Tessa was in danger. He was alone with the man who cooked Robert.
He was about to sand up and run into the Kitchen when he remembered the knie was sitting in his pocket. He had taken it from her when she wasn't looking because he felt safer holding a knife. He knew how to use one as well. He grabbed it out of his pocket.
Out of the corner of his eye he saw a piece of meat floating in the stew. Looking more closely at it he saw it was the top of Robert's finger, the nail was pulled off from the rest of the finger.
Bile rising in the back of his throat and he thought he was going to pke right then into the stew and all of the table.
Shaking his head, he cleared his thoughts and remembered Tessa was in danger. He heard a shout of anger coming from the kitchen then he heard Tessa shout for him. She knew he had the knife because he heard the anger in i as if she went to grab it and found it gone.
Zoul swallowed his fear of Tessa and ran into the kitchen. The chief was on top of her, repeatedly bashing her in the face over and over again. He could see blood on the knuckles on the chief's fist, but he couldn't see Tessa's face.
He ran over to the chief, grabbed him by the back of his shirt and lifted him of fTessa. Zoul didn't look like it but he was strong. He looked down on Tessa and saw that her ee was blackening and her nose was bleeding other than that she just looked shaken. He held back the chief as he struggled to get loose.
He needed both his hands to restrain him and he couldn't stab him with how much he was moving. Tessa needed to do the deed. Looking down at Tessa she was starting to sit up. They locked eyes and Zoul tried to mentally communicate that she had to do it, but he was unsure if he received his messages.
He handed her the knife as quickly as he could. Once seeing the knife being transferred she seemed to understand then. Zoul took his other arm and restrained him. The chie struggled and cried as he fought against Zoul. Zoul moved him so his chest faced Tessa. They locked eyes again and Zoul nodded his head, signalling that it was time. Tessa raised the knife above her head and brought it down on the man. It embedded itself right in the middle of his chest. The chief made a noise that sounded like a ding pig then he finally went limp in Zoul's arms.
