Chapter 2 - A New Beginning

Rashad was stunned. He, as a former member of the gang, often faced an unequal struggle. But now he was completely alone.

Four people came out of the crowd. One helped Terry to his feet, and the others stood hesitantly, looking at Rashad.

"I really just want to go to the library. Dudes, I accepted Sanora's refusal and I'm here to read some materials. I'm not going to get within half a meter of her..." Rashad's speech was suddenly interrupted by a shout. "Brother Suan is coming here!"

It was as if Rashad had been doused with cold water. Seeing this man, he immediately felt a threatening air emanating from him.

'This guy is not to be trifled with!' he realized instantly.

Suan was a tall young man of about twenty, with a strong physique, healthy face, and sparkling bright eyes. A scabbard hung behind him.

"What's going on here?" Suan asked, throwing the scabbard from his back. Rashad immediately remembered the man's name.

Rashad felt something weird as he looked at the scabbard. It was as if it was calling to him. It was the first time Rashad had felt this way, so he was wary.

Rashad decided not to act rashly, "Brother Suan, I want to inform you that my fellow students are blocking my way to the library. I suspect that this is not under the rules of St. Peter's University. One of them even attacked me with his fists, so I struck back. I was just defending myself."

Rashad spoke without hesitation about the nature of the conflict. There was almost no lie in what he said. It was true that the guy named Terry did not attack after the first blow, but Rashad cared about his dignity. He did not want to be disgraced, so he took the initiative.

Suan snorted and placed the scabbard back behind his back, "Alright. Don't make a mess."

After that, Sudan went into the library and began sorting through the books on the shelves. The entire crowd dispersed and Rashad was no longer blocked by anyone.

Sanora, who had started it all, rose from her seat and walked silently past Rashad. The latter did not even pay any attention to her. Now all his thoughts were about Suan.

"This laconic brother Suan... He's very dangerous!" Rashad judged not only by the appearance and air about the swordsman but also by the tone of his voice. Suan spoke clearly and confidently.

Rashad was surprised that Suan carried a sword scabbard so casually. It seemed that the rules of the university did not forbid such things. Rashad thought it was odd.

With a sigh of relief, Rashad walked over to the bookshelves. He quickly found books about religion.

The Church of the Fate Goddess was often mentioned in the memory of the past owner of the body. Nevertheless, the memories were very blurred and unclear, so Rashad decided to spend time studying this topic.

In the first book, the meaning of churches was quite clearly indicated. People prayed and hoped to receive God's blessing, just as they did on Earth. In this world, however, churches were non-profit organizations. They did not ask for any donations.

In different countries, one of the many churches dominated. Regarding the Majesty Empire, where Rashad came from, the Church of the Fate Goddes was dominant.

Rashad was shocked by the power of the churches. It would not be a mistake to say that the churches were the main centers of power in this world.

No ruler would dare to contradict the church.

Rashad studied several other books that only confirmed his guesses.

'The Church in this world is something unique and sublime for an ordinary person.'

Many secrets enveloping the temples and churchmen were also mentioned in the books. Rashad felt something strange. It seemed to him that somewhere in the back of his mind there was information about something important.

The newly discovered information about churches seemed extremely familiar to him, but he was sure that the memories he had received did not contain anything of the kind.

He forgot all about the time and spent several hours in the library and was exhausted.

Rashad returned to the dorm where he met Wallace. The latter was already aware of what had happened in the library.

"You are cruel. I hope my testicles will remain intact." He laughed.

Rashad liked his roommate, who was not annoying or fussy. If he had met a man like Wallace on Earth, he would have recruited him into his gang.

Rashad wondered, "Listen, what does this brother Suan do?"

"Hahaha. He is very famous in our university. I'm surprised you don't know about him. He's the president of the Almighty Sword Dojo!" Wallace explained.

Rashad was struck by lightning.

'I should have understood it sooner.' He knew about the existence of various extracurricular activities at the university, including various dojos where students studied martial arts, but for some reason did not immediately guess.

He talked to Wallace for a while, then went to his room. He was looking out of the window at the moon. The world he found himself in was not as ordinary as he had originally thought.

'On Earth, you would never be allowed to carry a sword with you. This is contrary to common sense.' Rashad thought. This mysterious world aroused his interest.

He warmed up his muscles a little before going to bed.

Rashad also did not forget to burn the infamous letter that he found on the table when he woke up.

Next morning.

Completely sweaty, Rashad ran back to the dorm and immediately took a shower. He did not like his lean physique, so he decided to take up sports.

He also wanted to be in better physical shape to be able to stand up for himself. Rashad was like that in a previous life.

You must always rely on your own strength. At least until you have enough power.

'The stamina of this body is good enough.' Rashad thought it would be much worse. Based on his memories, the previous owner of the body never went in for sports.

But Rashad did a lot of basic exercises like push-ups, squats, and pull-ups before he got tired. Before that, he even ran 10 miles without any problems.

He entered a new world and so far set no goals for himself. But what was clear was that he wanted to explore it.

Rashad did not miss Earth at all. Transmigration was a new beginning for him.

At lunch, he went to the hairdresser and shortened his hair a bit. Now he had a neat hairstyle.

'Now I don't need a hairband to freely do sports.'

Rashad found out what time it was and hurried to the Almighty Sword Dojo. Suan caught his attention.

"I feel like he's very strong. I must visit this dojo.'
