"What did you just say!? I am the emperor's lady! How dare you?!"
A loud voice screeched in rage in the waiting room of the palace as a startled young butler raised his hands not knowing what to do. Two maids standing to the side jolted nervously glancing between one another. Intimated by the person in front of them and with good reason.
In the front of them stood youngest lady of the Baralart family in a fit of rage.
Lady Sylvia Baralart, unlike her two older siblings who were devoted to knighthood. Practicing the same swordsmenship skills carried down their family. The Baralart family had once been a very noble and honorable family. Devoting their swords and loyalty to the crown. Becoming line generals and captains. The current Duke's grandfather had been the last to become the runing General of the Soleil army. It was the Silvia's older siblings that had reawaken that tradition once the current emperor rose to power.
The youngest daughter like her father grew with a more greedy personality. Unlike her older sister who carried on to become one of the emperor's personal knights. And her eldest brother who became a captain of the guard. Sylvia hated sword skills and rather used her own looks to reach for higher places. She took pleasure on the looks of envy and desire that followed her wherever she went. She could have any man she wanted, but she would have only the finest man. The man who could give her all the riches in the empire.
Her small slim body trembled as she clenched her fists in the fabric of her dress. The same dress she had made sure had been ironed until no wrinkle was visible. In a fresh color of emerald made her long red hair stand out. Her red amber eyes fixed with rage staring at the poor butler as if he was the one to blame.
"Lady Baralart." A gentle voice spoke out catching her attention just as she was about to scream at the poor butler. With a frown the young lady straightened her back glancing over as the emperor's own trusted advisor walked into the room.
"Sir Lapis." She greeted stiffly with a bow as she gazed up at the man with a frown.
"Lady Baralart, his magesty sent a message saying that he will not be able to grant you access today. It's best to return how." Silvia clenched her teeth forcing a smile on her face as all the irritation spilled from her eyes.
"When will I be able to see his magesty?"
"It will be more appropriate if the lady were to decease her visits from this moment onward." Lapis said calmly bowing his head to her.
"Why is that? I heard the foreign princess should be arriving today. She's only a simple thing, I doubt his majesty would care that much about an arrange marriage. Tell his magesty I'll come pay a visit tomorrow if he just wants to show the princess some hospitality." Silvia smirked as she took out her fan holding it over her mouth as she fanned it gently. There was no way the emperor would really be interested in a simple princess from an empire covered in snow. She was probably a simple minded flat faced girl.
"Silvia, mind your manners." With wide eyes Silvia turned swiftly to the voice as a tall figure strolled into the room.
"Big sister, Leta."
