The two remained in a locked gaze for what an eternity before the princess let out a small smile turning to look up at the large tree.
"How are you enjoying Celestia?"
Her question made Juvel jump slightly before he walked closer to her. Standing beside her gave her a bow placing a hand over his chest.
"It's quite an enchanting land. It feels very peaceful, warm even." Juvel smiled as he gazed up at the large tree they were under.
"This tree was born from one of the seeds of the silver tree. The emperors before planted this tree in order to symbolize the children born from the silver doe's first blessed child. It's our family tree. Each year it blooms and when a new member is born a new branch grows. It will continue to grown and bloom as long as we remain. It's something very beautiful and important to us."
Celesti smiled softly as she gazed up at the tree branches. Placing her hand softly on the trunk of the tree.
"It's our connection."
"That sounds beautiful."
Juvel muttered softly with a smile as he now saw the tree as something more precious. The appearance of a tree but the value of it was much more to the royal family than all the jewels they possessed.
"What about your empire, Soleil? Do they have anything like this?" Celesti asked curiously as she turned to gaze up at the taller figure. His eyes moved away for a moment as he stared into the distance thinking for a moment. With a more bitter smile, he turned to her.
"The Soleil family once had something like this. There was a legend once that the golden firebird once cried tears of gold. With his tears, the lands that were once filled with only darkness grew light. A treasure grew from the earth and had become protected by the royal family. A guarded sacred object. Yet it's said that the previous emperor out of spite destroy it. Making our only connection to the golden firebird disappear."
"Out of spite?" Celesti questioned with slightly wide eyes at the new information. Even before in her past life because the Soleil emperor despised her. They rarely spoke, isolating her almost so she was never truly able to experience life in Soleil. Never learning their stories or the custom there. She was only a stranger living there.
Smiling bitterly Juvel sighed running his fingers through his hair.
"I'm not sure I should tell you everything. I'm hoping his majesty will someday. As you probably know the previous emperor was not really a fit rule from the beginning. He was a man who only desired for greed and wealth. Having hundreds of women in his company. He despised his majesty."
"Because he was the son of the third prince?" Celesti guessed as she thought back to the history she had learned as a child. A long time ago before the previous emperor took the throne, he had two younger brothers. Three princes that were from different mothers. The first prince being born from the queen while the second and third prince had actually been born from a young kind empress the second previous king had fallen for and married. Because he had only married the queen, the first prince's mother to tie more alliances. He treated the first prince differently from the second and third prince. Growing older the three princes soon began to show their own skills. The first prince gifted more with swordsmanship and grew to be hot-tempered. While the second prince was more intelligent with a shy gentle personality. Spending his hours in the palace library. It was the third prince who had taken after his father. With the heart to rule for the people, brave in the battlefield and intelligent when it came to the manner to solve the empire's situations.
It was no surprise to the people when the emperor picked the third prince to become the crown heir.
