Shortly after Slender and the others left I had made myself a cup of tea to calm down and compose myself and I must have ended up asleep at some point during my down time. Surely he doesn't know about my past? No, I know for a fact that he doesn't know but he is going to do anything and everything to find out my past and that sends a sense of panic through me. My mind races to make sure I've covered up any and all tracks I've left behind because if this killer could find me then that meant they could too right? I jolt when I hear a sudden knock on my front door, my chair toppling backwards in my shock and causing me end up on the floor with a pained groan.
"Just a minute!" I call to whoever's at the door, pushing myself back up to my feet as I take a deep breath and go to the piece of wood between me and whatever else is out there. Have I been found out? Is it a pasta come to finish me off? Maybe even one of those men out to get me?
"Y/N come on I know you're in there so just open the door already!" a familiar voice calls, a slightly irritated groan leaving his chest. "Jeez I'm freezing my balls off out here."
My eyes light up in excitement when I hear the voice before I immediately throw the door open and attack one of my best friends in an extremely tight hug. "Evan!"
"W-Wow!" he grunts, wrapping his thin but strong arms around me and taking a step back before chuckling softly as he sets me down, giving my cheek a kiss. "Hey there kiddo. What always has you so excited to see me?"
"What I can't be excited to see the bestest friend in the entire existent of this planet?" I ask, giving him a dark glare before relaxing out into a smile as I usher him inside the house, taking a scan around the area before closing the door and turning back to him with an excited smile.
I met Evan on the streets when I first came to this town. He was a medical student starting out at the hospital when I ran into him after a scuffle on the streets, bleeding and pale faced from the blood loss. Where a normal person would scream and flip out or call the police he stayed calm and took me to his apartment where he patched me up. I was dizzy and lost too much blood to really follow the stranger danger rule and even ended up passing out during his examination but when I woke up again I was patched up and resting in a comfortable bed with an attractive black haired male with dark blue eyes sitting beside the bed and reading a text book. His smile was one of the most dazzling and comforting things you could have ever seen and he wasn't that much older than me but his maturity level was better than that of most adults you could have met. We got to know each other and he helped me get established in the town and was even the reason I was able to get a job at the school.
"Bestest isn't a word kid and I'm not that great," he says, looking over at me with a smile as he relaxes himself in my kitchen chair and even steals my now cold tea, causing me to wrinkle my nose when he takes a sip of it, glancing over at me with an amused smirk. "You know I like my tea cold and my coffee hot so don't make that face at me. How's the job been going?"
"Amazing actually. I have the best kids in the entire world and we have a new little girl who's name is Sally. She's the most adorable and the sweetest little girl you could ever meet." I say, smiling at Evan as I sit in front of him.
"Sally huh? That's a cute name," he says softly, his voice taking a rather odd tone to it, something I've never heard before.
"What's wrong Evan? Did something happen with one of your surgeries?" I asks, sitting straighter in my seat as I look at my friend in concern. He almost seemed a bit upset and maybe......jealous? No, that's just a crazy way of thinking. There's no way he's jealous.
"Everything's fine," he assures, his face immediately changing into a smile as he lets out a soft chuckle. "One of my patients name's is Sally and I'm good friends with her dad but she's too old to be in your age group. I haven't seen them in a while so I really should go pay them a visit."
"Tell them I kidnapped you and forced you to live with me because I was lonely," I tease, relaxing when his tone relaxes back into comfort, a light smile coming to my lips. "I'm glad you came to visit me though, it's been a rather hectic day."
"Been doing a lot of test grading?" he asks in a teasing manner, causing me to roll my eyes at him.
"No none of that. I actually enjoy grading their tests." I chuckle, sticking my tongue out at him before my smile falls as I bite my lip. "It's just that I have this guy that I really like and I think he likes me too but he doesn't really trust me because I won't talk to him about my past."
"He shouldn't be pushing you to talk about it. I mean I'm sure there are things he hasn't told you so why should you have to reveal EVERYTHING when he's told you NOTHING?" he asks, almost as if he understood the situation himself which really didn't come as a surprise to me. He wasn't one to date but when he did he didn't really like to talk about himself. He knows a lot about my past but I don't really know that much about his.
"Well I don't know all that much about him but by asking him about his past then that means I have to tell him about my own," I mumble softly, pulling my knees up to my chest as I bite my lip in anxiousness.
"Maybe you've finally found someone you can see a future with but you're scared? Maybe, just maybe you have the L word?" he asks, his lips rising into a light smirk that doesn't quite reach his eyes.
Was my best friend right? Could I possibly be in LOVE with Slenderman?
