"Who is Rebecca to you?"
"A friend..." I answered with a smile.
The doctor then grabs the collar of my school uniform and pushes me towards the vending machine. Her strength, compared to the body I'm using has better strength. She pressed me at the vending machine and stare at me really close and pressing my neck.
"Ugh... Cough Cough!!!" I can't help but choke a little, and the rest of my drink falls to the ground. 'How wasteful...' I sigh in my head. Because, the pushing was too strong, the vending machine even letting out a few more drinks.
"Friend... You said?" Doctor Maya asked between gritted teeth. "What kind of friend will let her fall into that situation, and not bothering to help at all!?" She pressed my neck, strong enough to make my struggles to breathe.
"I... Was... About... To help!!" I tried to explain despite my struggle with breathing.
"Then? Why didn't you?" The doctor loosens the pressure on my neck. But, she still keeps me pinned to the vending machine.
"Then, you suddenly came, with Vincent..." I try to put my hand on her arm to push her away, but, she keeps pressing harder the more I struggle, so, I stopped moving at least. "I decided to let you deal with it...."
Doctor Maya looks at me with a frown. She pressed me harder again. "Why were you there in the first place!? Earlier than both of us..." She asked again as her pressing on my neck become harder.
"Unlike Vincent, he has connections as the heir of his family company, and, I was there when she was taken away... But, you..." Doctor Maya paused while staring at me. "You are different..."
"You are not from a family with strong background, you suddenly appear and become close to her, and you are there, earlier than me when Rebecca was captured," Her pressing becomes harder, and between gritted teeth, I decided to fight back as self-defense.
I punch her in the stomach, and, not surprisingly, the doctor didn't even flinch. As expected of a former Alpha and a war general.
But, the human body always has a weakness. Human joints are a delicate part, even for a person with muscles, and have high pain tolerance.
Hitting both of her shoulder joints can at least loosen her elbows pressure on my neck. And, using that short freedom, I quickly move aside and kick the back of her knee, and succeed in making her kneel on one knee. As I want to quickly end this fight, I quickly locked her to the ground, using hammerlock techniques.
"Game Over..." I let out a relieved sigh as the doctor didn't bother to struggle anymore.
"You have good fighting skills..." Doctor Maya looks stunned. "Who are you?" she asked while frowning.
"Not an enemy..." I replied as I get up from her back and release her arms.
Doctor Maya slowly get up from the ground and hold her arm while staring at me.
"Are you..." The doctor looks like she wants to say something, but hesitates.
[Most traversers are an anomaly in each world. But, they are not under the supervision of the system. As long they didn't become obstacles to the mission provided by the system, they are not bound to any rules.]
'Why are you telling me that?' I scratch the back of my head as I wait for the doctor to speak.
[That means, they are allowed to know about the existence of us, unlike original residents of mission world.]
I nodded in understanding. Welp... That's easy then.
"We are almost the same..." I squat in front of Doctor Maya. She looks confused with my statement.
"You were reborn and traversed to this world. Your former world is the world full of Alpha, Beta, and Omega. You were an Alpha, and a war general, fighting abomination." I stare at her shocked expression with a smile.
I stand up again and walk closer towards her. " I'm almost the same as you... But, I'm here because of work. Not reborn or anything. "
Her jaw dropped a little as looks up at me.
" My mission is to protect the villainess, or should I say, a misunderstood and wronged person. Like Becca.."
" Your mission target is... Rebecca? "
" Yep..." I nodded before holding out my hand to help Doctor Maya to get up.
"Ta... Thanks..." The doctors sigh as she looks to the side. "So... Do you like Rebecca?" The doctor suddenly asked that question and I almost laugh.
With a chuckle, I quickly denied it. "No No No... I only think of her as a normal friend. I'm not interested in her that way..."
The doctor looks relieved.
"Anyway, I'll tell more about the details of my mission later, but, let me tell you this." I look at her with a serious expression and the doctor quickly put her focus on me.
"We need to be careful of few persons. First, Damian Ford, second, Richard Sullivan, and third, their families.
Doctor Maya quickly frowns when she hears my statement." They will pay... " The doctor's expression changes again.
Suddenly, the bell rings, which marked the start of the first lesson.
"I'll go first. We will talk again." I took a few steps to leave before I stop as I remember something. I quickly turn my body to face the doctor.
"The reason why I let you save her instead of me is that I know that she will become dependent on her savior." The doctor looks stunned. "Who else deserves that spot more than someone who likes her as genuine as you?"
"You and Becca will look good together." I smile at her before leaving her standing there stupidly with a blush on her face.
"We... Look good, together?" The doctor covered her red face with her palm as she remember Rebecca's action of biting her shoulder while she was unconscious. "Cute...." Doctor Maya mumbled.
And, that's how the strong former Alpha and former War General becomes the loyal dog(M) to the big beauty(S).
But, that's a story for another time.
