Samael looked at their second brother in front of him riding a horse. They were currently going to their mission's destination. Apparently there's a fief lord that didn't agree to pay the 'protection fees ' so they needed to teach him a 'lesson'. According to the second brother's plan they would first once again try to ' peacefully' talk to the fief lord but if it didn't worked out well they would show the fief lord the consequences, there would be five people going to the fief lord's house with the second brother while the others wait near the place and if the ' talk ' didn't worked out well then the second brother will do a signal for the other brothers to attack the fief.
" Let's rest here for a while." Second brother said as he looked at them.
All the brothers stop their tracks and start to get down from their horses as they tie it to the trees while feeding them. Seeing this Samael couldn't help but be amazed how well off his brothers are. Upon the short time he's in the camp he notices that though not all but most of the bandit brothers of his wear either leathers or very well done garments and even those that aren't wearing those also wear decent looking clothes. People wouldn't think of them as poor looking or something that looks like a bandit, they look more like a lower ranking nobleman or a small business owner.
An arm wrapped around Samael's shoulders " How are ya feeling so far? Nervous that you might screw up?"
Samael looked at the person that wrapped his arms around his shoulders and saw him grinning from ear to ear." Don't compare me to you." he said smiling as he removed Ignez 'arms around his shoulders.
"Ohhh, so you're so great that you don't feel nervous?" Ignez said teasingly
" Of course bow down to me, the great one" Samael said proudly as he lifted up his chin and pumped up his chest.
Both of them looked at each other and laughed at both of their unspoken nervousness. Samael knows that even though the brothers look like it's nothing to them as they have done it a lot of time, they were still nervous that something might go wrong and they might not be able to come back alive.
They will be attacking a city, a noble no one knows how many knights are there protecting the fief. No one would know if they would be able to come back the same number as when we came or if we would be able to go back with complete limbs.
Samael took out the foods Pearl prepared for him as seeing this Ignez pointed at him more specifically the foods.
" Ahhhh!!! You lucky bastard Pearl gave you some foods that were personally made by her!!" Ignez said, looking at him like he had betrayed him.
Hearing what Ignez said, the other brothers looked in their direction and walked towards them.
" Samael you lucky bastard!" a brother said.
" Is it really the looks? Does it really matter ? Is it where it will fall down in the end?" another brother said as he held his chest like his chest is aching.
" You bastard, how dare you betray me! As your punishment this will be our now" Ignez said as he took Samael's food.
" Ignez you bastard, give that back to me!" Samael said as Ignez immediately runs while Samael runs after him.
The brothers laughed and even the second brother laughed as well while they looked at the two young men chasing each other. This lightens up the heavy mood earlier.
" But really man you're a lucky bastard to have someone like Pearl"Ignez said as they stopped chasing each other.
" What do you mean? Pearl and I are just friends" Samael said as he took a bite of his sandwich.
" Are you really that dense man?" Ignez asked, unable to believe Samael as he took a sandwich from Samael's food and took a bite. " It's obvious that Pearl likes you more than friends. Do you really not see it?"
Samael isn't dense; he knows Pearl liked him more than friends but he didn't want to think about it. He doesn't feel the same feeling for Pearl and he doesn't want to hurt her so he chooses to stay quiet and act ignorant, as long as Pearl doesn't tell him directly he wouldn't make a move and just act oblivious.
After resting a bit they decided to continue their journey.
Samael only wishes that everything would go well.
