Chapter 20 - What Are You A Stone? Nop A Rock

Diya's POV

"Guys...where are we going?" I asked as soon as we got into the cab. "First we are going to the mall for shopping and later we are going to watch a superb movie" Ria chirped. " Both sounds boring" I murmured and facepalmed myself. "Doesn't that excites you Diya? " Khushi said fluttering her lashes.

"That sounds so damn exciting Khushi. I just can't wait!" I said dramatically. " I see sarcasm," said Ria while smirking. " And I see hell hole waiting ahead of me" I muttered gaining a nudge at the side of my ribs from Ria and a glare from Khushi which left me sighing deeply. After half an hour of the ride, we finally reached the mall. Ria and Khushi ran inside the mall expectantly, like how a five-year-old would run after seeing a candy stall. Whereas I just walked like a zombie who had no mood to do anything.

Khushi and Ria were already trying out some dresses which were showcased at a shop which was located at the right of the mall's entrance. This is going to be a long day...I thought and strolled into the shop.

After 2 hours, both Ria and Khushi had calmed down from their shopping spree. Both of them bought a lot of stuff and on the other hand, I was busy playing the 'Popcorn Game'. Yup, that is what I call throwing the popcorn in the air and catching it with your mouth wide open. The salespeople around me kept looking for and to between me and my besties who were under the 'shopping spell'. They gave me a weird look for sitting there being disinterest. I shrugged my shoulders in reply and continued my 'Popcorn Game'. Puff...if only this people knew that how much I hate sitting in this sophisticated torture cell where your friends make you go through a process of giving an opinion about each and every outfit they try just to buy one freaking piece out of all the ones the tried. Now that was one friend that I was talking about but now it was 2 which makes the situation even worse. However, I didn't buy anything because nothing actually interested me to that extent for me to buy it. Simple. Now all three of us we in a cafe, going through the menu deciding what to eat. Damn, I was exhausted after all that opinion giving a session and my system was going haywire without food.

When the food arrived we quickly dug into our food devouring its fabulous favour and the aroma of the food hit our nostrils making our mouth watery. I felt heaven in my mouth. After lunch, we all decided to watch a movie. " Guys I will go get the tickets!" said Ria as she squeezed through the crowd to get the tickets. Therefore, Khushi and I went to get snacks. After getting the tickets and the snacks we rushed into the theatre as the movie was about to start in a few moments.

I groaned in frustration when the movie's name that we were about to watch appeared on the screen. When I looked at Ria through my squinted eye, she smirked at me. " Seriously Ria! You brought me to a rom-com movie. This is ridiculous." I said in a hushed voice not wanting people around us to hear me.

" You are missing out a lot Diya. So it's my job to fill in the void that you are experiencing" she winked at be gaining a hard glare from me. " Guys, the movie has started. Let's focus on the movie and you guys can continue your bickering after the movie" said Khushi as she made herself comfortable in her seat. I huffed in annoyance and crossed my hands over my chest as I began to watch the movie reluctantly with a scowl on my face.

Third person's POV

" Why did the heroin kill herself....." sniffled Ria controlling her sobs. " Yeah, why does the movie had to end like this. Its soooooo sad" Khushi mumbled while wiping away the freshly formed tears from her cheeks. " Diya, don't you too feel sad for the hero?" asked Ria still focused on the movie screen. But she only heard soft snores. With confused eyes, she turned to look at Khushi while Khushi, on the other hand, looked at Ria with the same expression of confusion written all over her face.

As on cue, both of them turned to look at Diya who had sat in between them. Both of them gasped simultaneously when they took in Diya's sleeping form with her head tilted to her right. Without hesitation, both Khushi and Ria pushed either side of Diya's shoulder making her jolt from her deep slumber. " Huh, What happened!" Diya breathed out looking everywhere for some sort of clue for the reason why her friends had woke her up. But she only woke up to come face to face with her friends' squinted eyes which were directed towards her. After, realising the situation she was in, Diya gave them a sheepish smile.

Diya's POV

" Hi, guys. So how was the movie?" I asked scratching the back of my neck because my pretty little brain couldn't think of any other lame excuse to help me escape the situation, where I was caught sleeping throughout the movie. " We could ask you the same too Diya. How can you sleep after the interval? It left us all on the edge!" Khushi exclaimed raising her hand in the air. " I don't think so she even made it through the interval considering her interest in the movie, to begin with," said Ria making me smile awkwardly which made Khushi shake her head in disappointment.

" How could you not like an emotional blockbuster Diya?" Khushi said which made me scrunch up my nose. " What are you a stone?" she said smirking. " Nop. A rock" I said wiping off the newly formed smirk from Khushi's pretty face. Both Ria and Khushi grunted hearing my comment.

---------------------------------------------------------

After their discussion about the movie that we just watched. No the movie that 'they' watched, we started moving out of the theatre hall. When I was getting out of the hall, my eyes landed on the two most hated people of my life. My blood boiled and veins started popping out of my forehead and around my neck indicating my fury. Red was all I could see and my breathing became shallow as I continued to watch them smile and laugh. Ria and Khushi who were not aware of my current inner turmoil started yelling my name as I stood rooted at my place as I observed that particular couple pass by me.

Both of them approached me and touched my shoulders with their shaky hands when they noticed my sudden anger which was clearly displayed on my face through my expression. They kept calling my name to pull me out of my current state but it was of no use. Pain. Anger. Betrayal. Vulnerable. Broken. Was all I experienced when I saw that couple. My jaw was clenched and the newly formed tears blurred my vision. Without paying any heeds to both my friends' calls I pushed through the crowd furiously and exited the mall before I do anything crazy which I might regret later. I need to realise my pent-up frustration and I know the exact place where I should go.
