It has been two weeks since i left Darnalia. I have found an inn, and i also have been working as a maid in a famous cafe in the capital.
I am now working at the cafe, holding a tray with coffee and one omelette in it.
She walked towards the customer who ordered it and smiled at him.
"Here's is your coffee and omelette, sir." I said with a calm smile.
"Oh! Thank you very much! I am excited to try your new dish!"
The man smiled.
"Oh really?! Then i'm happy to hear that. Now then, please enjoy your meal." I said calmly then walked away.
If you're wondering how did i get here, here's a flashback~
Two weeks ago:
I walked around the capital and saw a cafe that had no customer on it.
I walked towards the cafe and looked at the displays. It all looks so good...and then.. we all know what happens next,
'Grrrrr~~..' a growl can be heard.
Sigh.... i looked at the sky and it was getting dark. 'I need to get an inn' she thought.
Suddenly, the cafe's door opened.
She saw a handsome man in his 20's. Black long beautiful hair and clear majestic light blue eyes.
"um.. Hello there miss, i have noticed that you have been staring to our displays for... 30 minutes."
He said while thinking how long i have been staring at the displays.
"Ah! Miss do you want to come in?'
30 minutes?!?! I blushed out of embarrassment and answered:
"S-sure! A-and i'm very sorry..."
"Hahahaha, don't worry, it's okay!"
He said as he laughed
He opened the door and let me in first.
I didn't hesitate because i know he's not a bad guy.
Again, there was no one in the cafe.
"Seat here, I'll make you something."
He then turned around and I guess go to the kitchen.
10 minutes later he came back with a tray and put two strawberry tarts, one tea, and one glass of water.
"Thank you." I said smiling calmly.
"Don't worry about it, let's it."
While eating he asked me something.
"Can i ask you something?"
"Sure." I smiled.
"Miss, are you a noble?"
When i heard that, my smile froze.
"N-no. I am not."
"Hhahahahaaha, Miss you're bad at lying."
But I'm really not!
I sighed. "Yes, i was a noble. I was from Darnalia. Daughter of Duke Campbell. My name is Elisabeth Charlotte Van Campbell. Or should i say Elisabeth Charlotte."
"Was?" The man raised his brow.
"Yes. My idiot father and brother requested that I should be banished. And our stu- i mean, our king agreed to it." I smiled.
"How can you smile like that? You were banished! Ba~nished!" He said slowly.
"Mister, do you know what i felt when students in that he-academy keep talking behind me? Believing those baseless rumors that I didn't do. The little brother i had that used to smile at me and call me 'big sister' like it was yesterday.... now glares at me. My ex fiancé, the prince now glares at me. After all that hell... i mean the lessons to be the great queen of the kingdom of Darnalia, I sacrificed my freedom just to be the queen that everyone wants.. so it's good to be away from that...hell."
I said, looking down. I tightly grip my dark blue plain skirt thinking about what happened to Elisabeth, me.
"I...i'm sorry to hear that."
"No, it's okay." I look up and smiled.
It's good that he didn't ask any further.
"Ah! And by the way sir..?" I paused.
"Ian. Ian Ray." He smiled.
"Then sir Ray. I would like to be your maid in your shop." I calmly smiled.
"Eh? But can you cook?"
"Yes. Umm, why dose it matter, sir ray?" I asked.
"I just thought you could help me in the kitchen."
"Since you can cook, it's fine. But are you sure about being a maid? This is a famous cafe. Nobles might recognize you." He said.
"It's okay. I will do something about it."
"Then, the day after tomorrow. You will start working."
My eyes lit up.
"Thank you! Then i'm in your care, sir ray!"
"Just call me ian." He said with a smile.
I smiled too.
I look at the window and saw that it was dark already.
"Ah! I need to find an inn!"
I unconsciously said.
"There's an inn nearby, let's go there after we finished the tarts."
"Eh??..."
"D-did i say that out loud?"
"Yes." He laughed.
Inside the cafe, you can hear laughs of a man and a woman.
