The following day Bailey was early enough to get a bed at the homeless shelter, the homeless shelter also provided clothes.
For the last four days she would wake up very early in the morning before the sun rose and practiced her defence mechanism moves from instinct and muscle memory. Then when the other homeless people woke up she would sit at a hidden corner and watch the street boss.
Boza, he was called. He had two underlings that was extremely scared of him. Bailey figured he became the boss because he was the bully to the other homeless people. What made Bailey happy was that she noticed that according to her muscle memory marshal arts moves, that street boss was probably very unskilled, he probably depended on his big muscles and preyed on the weak making everyone very afraid of him when they saw that other people couldn't defeat him. The street people had low self esteem and wouldn't pick a fight that they where not sure they would win, they thought the street boss had hidden moves. He talked big too.
They paid him half of what they earned through begging and if they got nice clothes or blankets they would need to give them to him and he would give them his old ones as compensation, sometimes he wouldn't give them anything back.
After fours days of learning the behavioural patterns of the street boss, she finally planned to make her move.
She waited until the street boss went to a new weakling and made her way to him.
"Street pay" he asked him for the street fees "If you wanna beg in these streets you need to pay, f*cker!"
"Nah, I don't think so, man" Bailey interrupted him and folded her arms as she stood boldly before him.
"Baby, baby, baby" Boza sounded amused and he stretched out his hand to touch her chin but she quickly squatted away. "I've seen you around, you look hot, you can be my woman y'know" he continued, "No one else will touch you, but for now, the men are talking aye, so shoo now"
"You must be dreaming, you don't own these streets..."
"Oh but I do" Boza interryoted her, "See, you need to go or you be hurt"
"Oh I dare you to come at me," Bailey boldy said "You'll bully no one again"
Rage surged in Boza's heart. He hasn't be undermined or talked back at since he established himself as boss. "Lil girl, you go hurt" anger visible on his face "don't make me stuff I feel sorry about later"
Bailey chuckled, and gave him a mocking smile. Boza was angry and threw a punch at her but she easily avoided it.
He threw another one and kept throwing punches but Bailey was left unscathed as if he was not even putting any efford.
She gathered up all her energy and punched him so hard in the face and he fell on his back on the ground. She went up to stand towering over him and said in sinister voice "The streets are mine now" she squatted down to him and said "unless you want me to tell the whole street that you got beat by a girl, you'll give me half of everything you get." She stood tall again and fixed her shirt "Understood?"
Boza stummered, and said "Y-y-yes"
"Yes what?"
"Yes boss" Boza couldn't believe himself. To be overpowered and be beaten by a girl. He knew he couldn't fight back the girl because the punch carried so much power that he didn't dare underestimate her. Even the aura around her was supressing and scary. Besides, even the way she dodged those punches effortlessly told him that she was not to be triffled with.
Bailey turned and looked at the guy he just helped, when he saw her looking at him he quickly fell down his knees "Th-th-thank you, boss for helping me" he quickly said. "Tell me, why you on the streets, you look like someone who has a home" Bailey observed him, he was wearing a suit, even though it was dirty and torn, it was unlike anyone who had been in the streets, there was definetly a story behind.
"Boss, my home and everything in it was burnt down to the ground by the mafia, I just buried my whole family, th-th-that's why I came to the streets" the man quickly explained trying to hold back his tears.
After a long while of silence, Bailey said "Follow me." And walked away, the man quickly got up and ran after her.
And that's how Bailey stopped begging on the streets.
That is how her empire got established.
