When Bailey got to the end of the passage she stopped abruptly making the young man almost bump her. He was so scared and immediately apologised. Because of what he had went through the last three weeks, he was scared of anyone who displayed power or the potential to be a thug or a gangster.
Bailey chuckled and looked at him "You don't have to be so afraid of me, aye, tell me everything about yourself"
"Thank you, boss" the young man said and proceeded to telling her about his life story. Jake Pierce was born and bred like an overprotected and spoilt young master of a middle-incomed family that owned a small IT & computer company, Pier-Tech. However what Mr Pierce had hidden from his family was that for him to establish his company he had to rely on making a deal with a mafia lord. He had to create security systems and apps that make phones untraceable. This also was a stumbling block to his company. Because most of the time he would focus on these apps for the mafia, neglecting his business.
The systems that Mr Pierce engineered had never failed until six months ago. Six months ago, the mafia lord came in to his father's office demanding an explaination on how his island was detected and how his security cameras was hacked.
After months of investigations his father still couldn't find where anything had went wrong and thus the mafia fired him. He had thought that would be the end of it but the following day his offices were burnt to the ground. Mr Pierce had to admit to his family what he had done all those years ago.
But he had underestimated how this mafia worked, as long as the knowledge was in his head they wouldn't give him a chance to ever come back at them. They went and destroyed his hardrives and burnt down his storage house as well. By the end of the week they had burnt down every place Mr Pierce had ever owned.
Mr Pierce took a hard drive that his company operations and core products, the ones that started the company before he met the mafia lord, his passion and life. He put them in a bag and gave them to Jake and told him to run and never look back. He told them never to go to the police as it wasn't safe and never enter any hospital as well. He should keep away from big corperations as well. Basically be off radar.
Jake Pierce read on the news that his family had been killed execution style and his house burnt down, what Jake didn't understand was why the news had also said he was also killed. He firgured perharps they had seen wrongly.
But Jake Pierce had grown up being treated as an egg, he was fragile and had no survival skills. Thus he couldn't even fend for himself. So he sold his watch to buy food for the first week, sold his rings for the second and eventually he took to the streets.
Six months ago? Bailey smirked and thought to herself, didn't this mean they shared the same enemy? Haha, an enemy of an enemy is a friend indeed. If she could use the fierce fear in this young man to turn it into fierce fighting. Because fear and hope couldn't coexist but fear is the feul in which men fight harder. She just needed to turn his fear of the mafia into the fear of failing, so that he can have the zeal to fight.
Before Bailey could say anything, she saw Boza coming her way cautiously. She changed her face into a stoic one and asked coldly "What do you want?"
"I uh I got cash" Boza said, quickly handing her 15 dollars, "This is half"
Bailey took it and nodded him off.
