Chapter 13 - Righir armor

"Nice to meet you sir. I am second lieutenant Yale, would you allow me to check the treasure you brought back ?"

'His rank is quite low... I expected it to be judged by at least a major.'

"I'm Eliott."

Although Elliot was quite disappointed he didn't show it, he put his backpack on the ground, opened it and pulled the dark green armor from inside. The dagger had been put in a hidden pocket just in case because he didn't want them to annoy him as he had already decided he would keep it.

The second lieutenant's eyes lit up when he saw the armor and so did Oliver's eyes ! He had bought back a treasure so it could be counted as an accomplishment, he and his squad would probably be freed from having to bring back treasures after today !

Elliot pushed the armor parts onto the second lieutenant's desk and waited for him to give him a price, he already had set a limit under which he wouldn't sell it : 20 000$. This armor didn't have very strong stats or a beautiful design but it was still a treasure from another world so he had decided under 20k$ he would be losing.

The man put his hand on the armor and suddenly felt a jolt in his body, he had never been in the other world and didn't know how it was there and it was also his first time coming in contact with an item from that world. He had been ordered to take care of the small treasures that came out but his lacking experience made him feel pressured and he decided to call a higher up.

"Sir Elliot, would you mind waiting for a minute until my superior comes here ? I don't have the expertise to judge this item and wouldn't be able to give you a fair price."

"I don't mind."

Although Elliot was impatient to call his dad and take news from his family he wanted to sell the armor first so he could make them happy by giving them a good news.

"Excuse me Oliver, do you have an iPhone charger please ? I stayed in the breach too long and I don't have anymore battery."

Elliot didn't feel the need to talk to Oliver using honorifics since both of them looked to be around the same age and Oliver on the other hand just smiled and answered without minding it.

"Oh of course we do, give me a second."

A few seconds later Oliver came back inside and gave Elliot a cable, Elliot sat down on a chair and put his phone to charge on the electric plug, finally his phone that had been dark for 3 days showed a bit of light. Inside the breach he couldn't get any phone or Internet network so he just left his phone in his bag and forgot about it.

"Sir Elliot, my superior Lieutenant-colonel Taylor is very close and he will be here in less than 5 minu—"

BOOM!

Before the second-lieutenant could finish his sentence the door was pushed open and two people walked in, one was a relatively old man while the other was a man around 28~ years old. Both were wearing a military uniform except that the old man's had way more decorations than the young man's.

"Where is the treasure ?!"

The old man didn't lose anytime with greetings or stuff like that and went straight to the point, Elliot didn't mind it since he didn't like being around people either, the earlier he sold it the earlier he would be able to leave this place.

"Lieutenant-colonel Taylor you came a lot faster than I expected, here it is. This armor."

Said the second-lieutenant while showing the armor on his desk, both the old man and the young man walked up and started analyzing the armor, both of them forgot that it still belonged to the seller and looked at it intensely as if it would disappear from their sight if they blinked.

"Try it on."

The lieutenant-colonel said while looking at the young man next to him.

Without losing a single second the young man took off his jacket and put the armor on top of his clothes, he put the helmet last and felt the jolt of the armor's stat going through his whole body.

"Good stuff ! The stats are good and it even have a skill attached, it is definitely good stuff !"

The man looked as excited as a kid who had just opened his Christmas gift after waiting for that day during the whole month of December.

Elliot was looking at him and didn't really care if he tried it on but was surprised by something.

'He definitely said "the stats are good and it even have a skill attached", this means that the game system doesn't only belong to me but to anyone who goes to that world. Although it is quite sad I still have a good advantage on most other "players" since I discovered it so early.'

Finally after all this time the lieutenant-colonel turned around and looked at the sitting Elliot who looked at them while waiting for his phone to charge.

"Is this young man the owner of the treasure ?"

When his second-lieutenant nodded the old man walked up to Elliot and shook his hand.

'Strong grip for an old man.'

Of course this "old man" had been in the military for most of his life and endured trainings everyday on top of life and death situations, even if he had grown old he still had vestige of his past strength.

"So young man, before anything would you mind telling us where you found this ?"

"Randomly happened upon it inside a cave."

Most people wouldn't lie in this situation but since this situation was new to everyone Elliot wasn't sure if everybody knew already about items being dropped from killing monsters and if they didn't know it meant he could keep hunting and taking step furthers of others who looked for treasures inside caves and stuff while he kept dropping ! One day would come when everybody would be aware of it but for now, he didn't want to help them out.

"I see, it is very similar to our lucky encounter with the Righir armor inside the abandoned castle. Thanks for your help young man, how about we discuss about the price of this armor then ?"

"Name me your price, I'll decide according to it."

'If it's under 20k I'll leave, if it's above then I can count myself lucky I guess.'

"Hahah alright young man, these are the stats of the Righir armor we sold for 88 million dollars already, have a look at it."

The old man pulled out a piece of paper from a cabinet and handed it to Elliot.

[Righir armor :

Health : +1600

Defense : + 200

Stamina : + 100

Agility : +20

"King's aura" : the aura emitted by the wearer will affect the enemies and make them lose 5% of their overall stats.]

'I can't believe someone was actually lucky enough to find this, the price is definitely worth it... maybe my estimation of my armor was off, I guess 20k$ was a dream.'

Elliot sighed in dejection and waited for the lieutenant-colonel to give me his price.
